Well, it was originally intended for the PSOne, but in the midst of making it the PS2 came out so they decided to edit it more to meet the reccomendations of the new console. This caused the making to be delayed, which is probably the reason why even after the commercial came out it wasn't until 2 years later they actually made the game...

After the explosion, Konoko is shown roaming the ruins of the city, and monologuing to herself that, the Chrysalis may save humankind in the form of evolution after the disaster that had occurred, but that the fate of humankind is unclear.

There was supposed to be a sequel but then the game company Take2 took the rights for Oni away from Bungie when Bungie was bought by Microsoft.

Take2 doesn't own the rights for Oni at all, Microsoft does. It's also why currently nothing is happening with the franchise.

I am pretty sure Take2 would have wanted to make a sequel pretty soon after they would have acquired the franchise rights as you said they have.

The reason Bungie / Microsoft won't come with an Oni sequel is unclear, but I think Halo simply sells 'too good' to stray away from that franchise.

In my opinion a new Oni would be the perfect break-project from Halo though!!

Are you on a PC or Mac? For the Mac there is a program called Oni Save Game Editor. For the PC there are modified programs that have the cheat enabled. Also go to Oni Central Forum and look for DAODAN DLL.

Oh come on and have some backbone.

Although the hardest point in the game for me was where you fight the black ninja on the rooftop on the hardest setting...

mainly because when I got to the save I only had a bout athird health with no hypos (did have a shield tho)
