The RCCL ship is the Enchantment of the Seas, and the Carnival pos is the Legend.

There are several ship builders. Most RCCL ships r built in Finland by people who have been building great ships for centuries while most Carnival ships r built in Itally by people who r great at making meatballs not ships.

These two ships looked pretty close in size and mass. I understand how heavy and sluggish they can be. I also understand it can take them miles to turn around. The thing why didn't they both just make the same turn at the same rate either into the wind or with it, and they never would have collided. I believe like airplanes, they are supposed to keep a safe distance from each other for the above reasons. Somebody was bending (broke) the rules here.

We were onboard the ship when it happened in the Truffles dining room right in the back next to the windows. We felt a jolt when the boats hit. Could not hear a thing in the dining room during the announcement by the captain as folks would not be quiet. We did see the boat get closer and closer to the dock until the captain hit the thrusters and then we felt a jolt. Did watch as the Pilot boat was thrown into the dock. The view was scarry as the skies were nearly black. Lots of fun and excitem

I was on the Legend when it hit the other ship, and we never even felt a bump, we were in the dining room at the time, and it came over the loudspeaker that we were having 50mph gust of winds and for everyone to move to the other side and to stay off the decks. Later of course we found out that we had hit another ship, and we had to be inspected by the coast guard before we could sail. But we did not have a female captain, the captain was a MALE

Ummm... these ships weigh something like 100,000 tons each. They are huge. In 50 knot winds they can become extremely difficult to maneuver. Trust me. The crew saw it happening and they were taking countermeasures a long time before they hit.

Carnival captain and Mexican port pilot are responsible. Bow thrusters were not applied properly. Weather reports were not observed. We were on Enchantment gangway, and were shuffled off the dock by the Mexicano's as the collission incurred, rain poured, and lightning struck.
