White people could never fathom the ongoing discrimination that is breed in our institutions. Understand that black folks just got the right to 60 years ago. Laws are still practiced that bar the disinfrachised from having equal opportunity. White folks cant see this because they dont experience acute discrimination day in and out. White folks, your view is skewed because of unwillingness to accept the truth of racisim and lack of understanding of being black in America. Not racist just saying
@mako7828 As an American, born white and a tenacious researcher of history....having read your comments above and below, I can only figure you are completely ignorant of the true history of America or you just like to spew hatred. I stand with most of what Ryooken says and could add much to the discussion of injustices done in the name of freedom and entitlement. "The chickens will and are coming home to roost" and your country sold you down the river. Prepare for a new reality.
And thanks for proving my point, i didn't say live birth, which is still disgusting you would stand up for that, i said late term abortions which means they can be aborted for no reason in the 3rd trimester. Arms, legs, brains, sucked out with a vacuum. Sad you support that.
@Nothergods Like I said before you are evil. You claim to stand up for the rights of children but you do not. The Supreme Court has held that bans must include exceptions for threats to the woman's life, physical health, and mental health, but four states allow late-term abortions only when the woman's life is at risk; four allow them when the woman's life or physical health is at risk. 36 states have banned late term abortion. continued
@Ryooken Obama has stated that only supported abortion under the conditions that the mother's health is at risk, in cases of rape and incest. Now if you want to lie, do it with someone that doesn't know better.
You are not following anything i'm saying here because i am not sticking up for any slavery, i already said the founding fathers misrepresented the bible just as black theology does. You keep quoting the old testament but that was strictly for the Jewish people, we are under grace not the law. Jesus never said we get justice or liberty on earth until his second coming. You doing the same thing WRight did by using the Psalms to prove his point, when that was for the jews not you.
@Nothergods I didn't say you stuck up for slavery. I said you excused it. There is a difference. The point is Black theology did misrepresent the bible. Talk about twisting of the bible. If you remember Jesus said himself he didn't come to abolish the law but to fullfill it. The old testament isn't strictly for the Hebrew people, it is for everyone that believes in God. If the old testament was just for the Jews then why aren't we only using the new testament?
Anytime the Bible is misused it is usually misused in the Old Testament. The verse Wright used in the Psalms has nothing to do with America, it only has to do with the Jewish people. Jesus fulfilled the law indeed, but he gave us a new covenant with all people because the law was not for them but Jews only. Just look at prosperity preachers, they only use the old testament. Jesus never promised Christians prosperity or money or even safety. Old Testament not for us friend.
@Nothergods Wrong again each book of the bible has been misused it's not just the old testament. I see so the bible has nothing to do with America. LOL! Right so the bible is specific only to the Hebrew people right? You keep saying this nonsense and it doesn't hold water. God didn't destroy only the Hebrews in the old testament he destroyed the world. It's the same God.
@Ryooken Jesus didn't give us a new covenant that would be an abolishioning of the old law. You are trying to argue grace vs the law. I am sorry but grace doesn't cancel out the law. It simply keeps you from being punished for original sin and allows you access through the kingdom of heave through the blood and your works upon this earth. Like I said before don't try to play this game with me. Being Catholic I know the history of Christianity quite well and I understand prophetic law.
No the bible is not, the old testament is. you cant follow simple conversation and have twisted my words this whole time. Your ignorant to the word of God this is obvious, but if you can't see the difference between the real gospel and Wrights version your lost as well. Hope you figure it out brother,
@Nothergods The old testament is part of the bible and as I said before it's not that I can't follow the conversation, it's that you are mistaking my meaning. The new testament doesn't cancel out the old testament nor vice a versa. You belief that it does speaks tells me that you have very little understanding of biblical scripture as a whole.
Here is an exact quote from Wright, "Jesus was a poor black man" because he lived in oppression at the hands of "rich white people." Talk about a twist on the Bible, but go ahead and keep believing in your liberation theology that promotes racism.
@Nothergods First Jesus was a poor black man and second he was living in a culture and a country controlled by rich white people. What you missed was why he said that. God choose to bring a savior from the poor and the oppressed. We have seen this many times with Moses, David etc. That God raises up the least and does the most. What Wright was talking about is that God will send you someone that understands your problems.
@CardinalRaker That's not entirely what Wright is saying. He is saying that our actions have generated hostility among the people we have mistreated over the years and eventually people will attack us back.
@Nothergods Correction he made a million on his books and his speeches. He didn't take one dime from the church and a third of his proceeds that he makes personally goes to food programs for the homeless, hospice care for AIDS patients, the United Negro College Fund, elder care etc. What you should do is repent and stop promoting evil. What the man said was and is true.
" The TRUE doesn't OFFEND, but MAKES people UNCOMFORTABLE ". All what Wright says is true. Those that don't accept the facts on this video is because the lack of knowledge ( make a search and will find it's true, but not in Conservapedia). Just 1 example of John Pilger , google this video "Paying the Price: Killing the Children of Iraq" For those that know what Wright is talking about and don't want to accept the facts " ALL YOU ARE CHICKEN ARROGANT "
Jeremiah A. Wright is a 21st century Prophet. This is a man on fire. And his fire burns with such a fierce hatred of social injustice. But you know what? It's not his hatred of social injustice. This is God's hatred of social injustice.
@ Boricua6483... It's a little confusing to me as a Black man to see you, as you're name so indicates, of Puerto Rican descent, saying the things you do. These people are "America Haters"? Maybe this will help you understand what Rev. Wright and others are saying. I work with children, all of who have bright futures. But when I see one, with such promise, underachieving, I become disappointed in their level of effort. That's the problem I've had with the U.S. since I was born.
@mako7828, if Iran starts a war, it will be a nuclear war and it will most certainly affect us. It is our business. With our technology and gov't intelligence, we can't find a 6'5" man on a dialysis machine? Yet, the U.S. gov't says they can't find Bin Laden? Lie. The muslims clamoring for death to Americans and death to Christians is a serious threat. It will divide this nation and possibly start a war on U.S. soil.
@Longarmgil so what if they nuke someone, not our problem we cannot be the worlds police nor should we be, that is what got us into our predicament as it is with other countries, as for bin laden you need to read more, he is not on dialisys machine although he did have some kidne problems and we had ample time pre 911 to arrest him in hospitals, one in pakistan. As for muslims against America huge myth, what you will find in most of the world is people tired of the American government bossing.
@mako7828, I don't agree with the war in Iraq and never did. The United States needed to go after Bin Laden because of his responsibility of 9/11. I think Bush is guilty of crimes against humanity. With Saddam gone, I wonder how long it will be until Iran starts a war? The problem now is that the U.S. doesn't have the money to send all over the world. We're broke. And in what shape did we leave Iraq? It haunts many of us.
Oh and he is a great man when he said US of kkk A, Oh and also when the new black panthers said they wanna kill cracker baby's. They are all so moderate and good people. You all need to wake the Fuck up and realize that these people are america haters and if you all hate America as well then move the fuck to another country.
@torganya And CNN and MSNBC is run by democrats and they can never tell the truth... So if they both are lying, who's telling the truth? Fact is they both tell the truth and they both lie, you just have to be smart enough to noticewhen something is taken out of context and used against a person.
@lionslicer9999 True true. But them American public choose to listen what they see on TV and don't try to understand things. If the media says it, it must be true.
Most of the public ignorantly believe the first thing they are told.
@lionslicer9999, Its funny how every media place is ran by liberals and people wanna complain about the one network that covers more to the right. But if you havent noticed Fox shows like Hannity brings liberals to his show. When was the last time Keith Olbermann brought a conservative to his show? Oh thats right never. So people need to quit being whiny bitches, oh fox is so racist, and horrible. So shut the fuck up and change the channel.
As a white man raised in a racist south, I find the only thing the Rev. Wright is guilty of, is telling the truth. Everything he has said is the truth, something fox news has no simblence of. People who deny history will undoubtedly repeat their mistakes. Even as an anti-theist, I find his sermon meaningful and relevent. And americans who think america attacks other nations in the name of DEMOCRACY are kidding themselves. If there was oil under the vatican, we'd bomb them too, just to get it
Throughout history, the U.S. has done atrocities as has every nation. What about the continued foreign aid that we give to so many, many nations. Nobody else has ever provided so much internationally and we continue to do so. What about the people under Sadam Hussein's regime wherein he killed so many of his own people? I have never agreed with the war in Iraq, but there are so many people grateful to have some semblence of a life they never had before that man was removed.
This was actually a GOOD sermon in total!!! WoW... I wonder what would happen if an indian race were to steal America and kill and enslave white people, would they understand what this man and others like him is talking about. God don't sleep.
@Mansizedtarget No but we did spend 50 years toppling their governments stealing their resources, keeping evil dictators in power to serve US interests and so much more. First Wright isn't a communist but even if he was so what. Secondly, Wright doesn't hate the USA what he hates if you can call it that, is the twisting of the constituiton and the bible to support atrocities that false patriots use to destroy others to make money and gain power.
Given the clear context and reasoning presented in this video [not saying one has to agree with it all], I am left greatly disappointed by the inability of the Mr. Obama [back then] and his advisors to deal with the controversy without having to throw Dr. Wright "under the bus" as it were. All he had to do was play the tape and case closed.
I hope the first one who gets caught by the filthy Islamic extremists when they start to come here when their mosque is done is this idiot! We have fought for freedom for many others in the world, including the muslim world! We freed kuwait in the 90's from saddam's tyranny, and the whole of iraq again post 9/11... We helped the opposed in Kosovo and Rwanda... so before this filth runs his mouth about america, he better learn his facts or GTFO!
@tulsadlance And the greatest tragedy- nay travesty- of it all is that all of this sacrifice for the furtherance of liberty has always been for the interests of the men in power, never in creating a better world. The illusion of this better world is only a fortunate side effect (for those in power, at least) of senseless violence carried out to tighten the stranglehold of a few greedy men on the once great American system of governance, both at home and abroad.
@tulsadlance We free'd kuwait because of oil interests, We made IRAQ worse than it was before, as middleast leaders go, Saddam was not so bad, Kosovo we sided with the kosovo liberation army which was incidently on the State Departments top ten list for terrorist organizations, and rwanda? you mean while they world stood aside watching 100,000s slaughtered? Yes, history needs to be learned, by you.
@Mansizedtarget I'm not going to excuse the behavior of terrorists, obviously blowing up random civilians can never be justified. But America has also blown up random civilians. So has Israel. So have most European countries. So have the Chinese and Japanese. You're an idiot if you think America has "never done anything to deserve this." Every country has at one point or another done stuff to deserve that kind of retaliation. That doesn't make it right but it makes it understandable.
@megamarsvin but suicide bomber TRY to kill civilians. We dont TRY to, the people who are our enemies hide AMONG civilians. Collateral damage is different than trying to directly kill civilians
@deuce082 But can you see why, to the people getting bombed, they don't really care why you're doing it? And Israel does do it deliberately and is seen as being supported 100% by the US.
Like I said that doesn't make it right, but it does make it understandable.
@Ryooken That's the truth, America has this macho attitude, and we are not better than anyone else. Why does the US need to be solving the worlds problems, we have problems of our own here at home, and yet we go to other countries and try and run them!
@Mallen14298 You're right but there is something deeper going on here. We aren't trying to solve the world's problems. What we are doing is stealing from the world while pretending to solve their problems. Trying to make ourselves look like the good guy when we are not. That's the real problem. We can't solve anyone's problems not even our own.
with out war there is no hope! if white forefathers did not act territorial there isn't any government military protect'ing the public. but now days eveyone aquiesse!
@eastariel Really so when Martin Luther King said the USA was the greatest purveyor of violence. When he wrote a speech saying how the USA may go to hell that's some how different. Let's be clear. Wright doesn't hate his neighbor, Wright is about his neighbor acting justly. There is nothing Wright said that was out of context in the bible. What I am tired of hearing is this constant comparison and false judgement.
@Ryooken So are you saying that Reverend Wright isn't racist, doesn't hate his neighbors? Are you saying all those rumors aren't true?
Now I did just find this quote from Rev. Wright which -- though controversial -- I think makes sense. I believe America should dismantle every last WMD.
“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye.” ~ Pastor Jeremiah Wright
@eastariel Truthfully let's say he could be a racist. If that was the case then president Lyndon B Johnson wouldn't be here. Yes, in fact those rumors are rumors. It would be awfully dificult for him to be a bigot if so many white theologians are standing up for him. Let's be clear he was talking about the biblical principle of what goes around comes around. He is saying you cannot kill civilians not soldiers then be upset when your civilians are attacked.
@Ryooken Also I see you didn't listen to the sermon. What was it about? Do you know. What our response should be in this unthinkable act. We should use this time to reflect on how our actions may have contributed to this attack, we should use this time to not seek revenge but seek out time and get closer to God. Now since you want to talk about part of what he said then you should speak on it all.
@Ryooken ... you're right. I didn't listen to the sermon; I listened to rumors instead.
I'm listening to the sermon right now; at 5:22, and I'm all riled up. "Violence begets violence; hatred begets hatred; and terrorism begets terrorism." Jeez, I feel like I'm listening to myself here. I apologize.
I opposed the Iraq war when it first began; that's when I first started writing letters to the president.
"An eye for an eye makes everyone blind." ~ Mohandas Gandhi
@Ryooken There's a really big United Church of Christ down the street; I was thinking of taking my family there. They have a vegetable garden; the church members grow food there which they donate to the local food pantry.
I get frustrated with religion sometimes because so many churches seem like all talk and no walk. So now I will say: "I apologize, Reverend Wright, and I think you did a really good job in teaching our president."
Now let's see if Obama really listened to the good reverend.
@eastariel Aplogy accepted. Like I said reverend Wright is harsh but what he said is in line with Christ. He has a way to making you think because he draws from the past a parallell that ties you to the present. I wish more ministers were like him. If that they were the world would be a better place and we would probably be treating each other far far better than we do.
@trowsertrowt That's not what was said. Oh well there are so many holes in what you just said it's not even funny. Let me clear up some things for you. First of all what Wright was talking about was that it wasn't just white people that died in the trade center but black people too. This is important to know because and I am sorry to say that in America only white people are thought of as Americans while others aren't so we don't always see the tradgedy in the same way. continued
@Ryooken Secondly, if you believe that only the Native Americans are the only victims of American injustice then please go and relearn history because you are woefully mistaken. Now the French who were white didn't start the chattel slave trade it was Europe in general mainly the Portugues. However, regardless of who started it the agreement made by Europe with the pope to enslave the non-white world is a matter of fact. The US has not ended global slave trade. continued
@Ryooken The global slave trade is very much alive. What the US has done is make slavery illegal in one circumstance but not all. Finally, Wright isn't a racist social terrorist or anything else other than a man of God. Now this made has stood up against oppression, served his country, and stood up against aparthied when the US was supporting it. Think about that the US the champion of justice supporting African oppression during the 1970s-1980s while claiming to be just.
I'm glad to see this in it's entirety because I get what he is saying. It was wrong to play selective clips from it over and over in the media. He makes a good point but people shouldn't lose sight of something. Radical Islam is beyond reacting or retaliating against only those who have done Muslims wrong. They endeavor to MAXIMIZE civilian casualties while the USA, UK, Australia, etc, endeavor to MINIMIZE them PERIOD, END OF STORY. War is awful and children are innocent.
And one wonders why we have a POS racist in the WH? Twenty years of listening to this "preacher" lay his racist pukespeak among his black congregation, namely the zero man in the WH, would make anyone hate the "white" man. Sickening.
@Ryooken -I see this POS black apologist is everywhere posting his spew. Tell me idiot, why is it that 47% of Americans pay NO federal income tax? You still need bitch slapped you little pile of excrement.
@steelersX01 I don't know who told you this lie but it's not true. Tell me something why is it that all you propagandizers always try to make yourselves sound smarter than you are.
@steelersX01 There are always lies being told. It only silly children like you that believe in their own fairytales that try to declare things are not the way they are. No evidence just your silly belief that you are right and everything that happens is a figment of the imagination. When in reality it's you that's imagining.
@Ryooken -Twenty years of zero listening to this POS is all I need to know. I have listened to hours of this racist and find him a lacking POS....much like yourself.
@steelersX01 LOL! Again like I said before. It makes no difference to me what you believe. Your fairytales will fail you in the end and you will discover who is right when you leave this life. This isn't my problem but yours.
FOX News Clip impression: Rev Wright is an America hater
Full sermon impression: Rev Wright is an America hating racist that really hates white people and blames white people for the 9-11 terrorist attack and says that “the chickens are coming home to roost” because white people are responsible for most terrorism.
@Ryooken I don't know why its disingenuous. You've looked over your grandmother's tax returns? The poor pay consumption taxes, (can't wait for that VAT tax to kick in) but no income taxes. Whether or not they pay state taxes, I don't know.
To make you happy, I'll revisit the tax code. But I've seen the stats for the poor and the rich--I looked them up on the IRS website. I'll be glad to admit if I'm wrong.
@jerrywitaj Because she pays income taxes. She pays taxes on her SSI as well. I don't know where you all get the idea that they don't pay taxes. Every year she filed a federal income tax form and she paid Uncle Sam. It's interesting but very true.
@jerrywitaj Actually we paid the highest taxes for less services. By the way we have been paying 35-39% for the past 20 years. Did you know that DC tax is about 17%. How do you think the museums are free? DC residents have taxation without representation. I don't see you up in arms about that. They have to pay more taxes with less representation than anyone else in the country. Fun huh?
TWENTY YEARS in this racist's church, and Obama didn't hear ONE anti-semitic or racist comment? This video confirms it to me that this guy is filled with hatred.
asshole. This video proves nothing, in fact it only bolsters the argument he is a racist. Look at 3:24..."he was a WHITE man"! why did obama finally denounce this bozo if it was taken out of context? Why did oprah leave his church? he is racist and anti-semite....and there have been PLENTY of documented statements this jerk has said that were NOT taken out of context. The funny part is, he looks white. I'll bet he sunburns easier than I do. Half Cracker.
@jerrywitaj LOL! Are you serious? Everyone knows that in this country that anything a black man says is suspect and only validation most people accept is from a white man. They left the church because of white opinion both of these people need white approval to get elected and to keep the Oprah Winfrey show going. We live in a country where a popular news channel spews racist epitapth daily i.e. Fox News and no one white says anything but you demonize blacks for speaking the truth.
@Ryooken Yes I am serious. And of course you need white approval to get elected, because if you have a logical bone in your body, you would understand that white people are the majority in this country, so it would would stand to reason that you need the white vote. The black vote is important as well, but they aren't the majority. And everything the Wright said in HIS CHURCH was taken seriously, of course. You may believe that the black man (or woman) isn't taken seriously, but I disagree.
@jerrywitaj LOL! I am sorry but that was funny. No, actually Barack Obama should be elected solely on his eligiblity not if white people liike him. That's part of the problem. Yes, blacks are taken seriously in this respect as a threat. If a black man says something, It is always suspected as being invalid especially if it is true. Look at the anger that was directed at Wright about what he said then about what the country has actually done.
@Ryooken One more thing: Case in point that a what a black man says IS taken seriously....Barack Obama. He wouldn't have been elected if whites, blacks et al, didn't take him seriously. Your arguments are falling like a house of cards.
@jerrywitaj Really is this why people went out of their way to say that he was ineligible to be president, because he was inexperienced or said that he would not be where he is today if he wasn't black. Nevermind the fact that he had the exact same level of experience that Old Abe Lincoln had. Constantly speaking about his law degree as invalid because his degree was based on Affirmative action. How about Palins comment the she had real responsibility. Serious huh?
@Ryooken I've read your comments..and what you're saying can be picked apart, refuted or disproved ad infinitum. Liking a candidate is inextricably joined to whether they are qualified, electable, or anything. from dog catcher to president. So yes, they HAVE to be liked. Its politics 101. Personally I DON'T think Obama was qualified in 08...I think Hillary was much more qualified to be president (though i wouldn't vote for her, ever) Obama needed a few more years under his belt to be president.
@jerrywitaj Really? I see so the wife of a former president is more qualified than an actual Senator constitutional lawyer that worked in every level of government right? LOL! Thank you! You just proved my point. By the way if my arguments can be picked apart please do so and we can begin. Politics 101 states that a person must be eligible. I do agree that it's turned into a popularity contest but that really wasn't my point and thank you for missing it.
@Ryooken She's more than the wife of a former president....silly man, you know that ...I hope. She has more experience than Mr. O. She's been a senator longer, worked on George Mcgovern's pres election staff, worked for Mondale's staff, worked on the impeachment committee for Nixon, etc etc. She has more experience. Would she be better than Obama? Who knows, I don't like her and I don't trust her, but her experience is undeniable. Obama needed more seasoning. He would have gotten more respect.
@jerrywitaj Actually that's how she got to be a senator in the first place you silly man. Yes, she has been a senator longer but her experience as a senator is the only besides being Bill's wife she can draw on. I didn't say she wasn't qualified I said she was less qualified than Obama. If you looke at her resume as opposed to his you will see he far outdistances her in both legal and governmental experience from local to state to federal. continued
@Ryooken In fact, if you compare her entire experience she hasn't much outside the senate. In Yale law school she studied child brain development. She does have a minor labor background as she had served on Mondale's subcommittee. What she does know and what qualifies her is the extensive knowledge of the key political players in the Senate and the House. However, if you think that her experience out plays Obama's you need to examine everything.
@Ryooken She's been a washington political insider much longer....you neglected the impeachment committee, and McGovern. Bless her corrupt liberal leftist commie heart, she has way more experience...and Bill is a good cheat sheet if she gets in trouble. But then again, I'm sure she can't community organize like Mr O!
@jerrywitaj You're right I did leave that out in her credentials. I left a lot of stuff out of Obama's too. Short of space and all. However, what I find funny is this constant reference to community organizers. To organize people on a grass root level is not only invaluable but it's adds extreme value to any presidential candidate. FDR had it and so did JFK, Ronald Reagan had it to a lesser degree. So no she cannot organize, she also had in fighting during her campaign. continued
@Ryooken So did McCain that's part of that wonderful skill of being about to organize your community. It's the mark of a good leader. So you guys keep making that crack about community organizers if you want to but it's a skill that cannot be taught and not many of our leaders have had the skil especially considering that many of the voters continue to be jaded.
@Ryooken Nothing at all wrong with community organizing ,no way. However, I wouldn't want that to be one of the few things that my presidential candidate had to hang his hat on. LIke I said, he's too inexperienced, but if he had waited four more years or so ,I would respect him more, and definitely NOT make fun of his community organizing experience. One thing i would advise to you is: just because some white people criticize Obama, it doesnt mean they're racist. Its just politics, nothing more.
@jerrywitaj I think you are missing some salient points.
First he is a constitutional lawyer
Second he has worked for years in the local state and federal level.
Third he has international experience not his strong suit but he has it.
The only thing he has lacked was executive experience.
He has a great deal of things to hang his hat on. He served 7 years in the state senate and 3 years in the federal senate. He has over 10 years in the legislature. continued
@Ryooken But to be PRESIDENT, you need to have executive experiece, ie, running something..a mayor, governor for example. There is no substitution, really. Most successful presidents have been governors, as you may know. The last president that wasn't was Kennedy. Obama's very poor response to the Gulf oil disaster is a case in point. Plus he's spread too politically thin, and tries to please all of his base, which effectively ties his hands, and The congress has used him as a doormat.
@jerrywitaj LOL! You are kidding right? Please tell me you are. This is what I said about your grip on reality. You do realize that 22 Presidents were members of Congress prior to becoming President: Madison, Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Jackson, Van Buren, Tyler, Polk, Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan, Johnson, Hays, Garfield, Harrison, McKinley, Harding, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford and George H. W. Bush. without executive experience. continued
@Ryooken I see so President Obama is doing a worse job than GW Bush that did have experience being governor in his crisis but Obama failed to do well in his disaster. Well let's look at that for a second. Obama responded quickly to the disaster. He worked with the oil company to provide relief, he held the people in his own agency responsible, he is investigating the issues. He has been there 3 times and he is working tirelessly to deal with this being one of many crisis. continued
@Ryooken Let's look at what Bush did. He waited 4 days to go down to during hurrican Katrina. There was very little relief effort in the beginning, there was no authority in charge, there was no federal support, when there was federal support there was no real well balanced support. If you were to compare the two situations, I can tell you that Obama is doing a decent job. He cannot control everything but he is working to solve the problem and the spill is being taken care of.
@Ryooken At least Bush went down there---Obama took, what, 45 DAYS before he visited. JIndal, Carville, and other locals were screaming for him to do something. What kind of leadership is that? And the issues around Katrina were much more complex than that. There was ineptitude on every level, federal, state, municipal, they ALL basically f-d up. Not to mention the utter corruption of LA politics that held up money and aid....NO ONE is without blame in that time. Too complex to get into that.
@jerrywitaj First of all Obama sent someone to investigate the spill on day 1. He didn't wait 4 days. He worked closely to see how the spill was progressing, when it became apparent it would become a national emergency. He declared it so then went down there. He worked with his advisors the whole time. He didn't say oh those people should fend for themselves. He did say why don't those people take care of the spill on their own. GW did that.
@Ryooken I didn't say there weren't many previous presidents that were senators--but you got me on the number. I also forgot that Nixon and G HW Bush were without executive experience, so my bad there. On everything else, spoken like a true kool-aid drinking dem!
@jerrywitaj No you just stated the most successful were governors. That was a bold statement considering that some of the most successful presidents came from congress. Also some of the worst presidents were both governors and congress people. So having either doesn’t necessarily automatically make you a good or bad president
@Ryooken Cont... All the hallmarks of a completely inexperienced president. I mean, the things this guy has promised and subsequently broken, often because of his political naivete, could fill a book. Unless of course he was lying to begin with, and then he's just another dishonest creep.
@jerrywitaj Wrong you know what Obama's biggest problem is? He trusted the republican party to keep their word and work for the benefit of the American people. Yes, he was naive about that he has honor and they have none. How many programs has Obama tried to push forward for the good of the US that they tried to block and wouldn't support? In fact, the stimulus money he wanted to give Louisiana would have helped with the recovery but Bobby Jindal blocked it. continued
@Ryooken All because of racism and sour grapes. The sad part is that the American people will suffer most for this. Let's get back to Obama. During the economic crisis unemployment rose nationally from 6% to over 10%. A crisis I might add was brought on by a previous president with executive experience. If Obama hadn't acted the rate would have gone up over 15% to 20%. His action stabilized the job loss and now we are a little over 9%. continued
@Ryooken The major reason this is going on is because corporate America is still sending jobs overseas. If you compare this crisis to the one during the Great Depression Obama is doing better than most presidents would especially considering he is still dealing with two wars that FDR didn't have.
@Ryooken Not exactly. He's doing a TERRIBLE job. When you propose MASSIVE regulatory burdens on corporations, tax increases, health care burdens, OF COURSE they are going to leave for friendlier and cheaper borders. Clinton started the mass corporate exodus, and now Obama is going to finish it. We are in a boatload of trouble if this guy has his way. Face it, either he has absolutely no grasp of economics, or he is downright trying to destroy this country. Which one is it? Can you say Alinsky??
@jerrywitaj Really what tax increases? It's a fact that under the Obama plan 95% of the people's taxes went down not up. Really are these the same burdens that would have prevented the oil spill in the first place? How about the tax burdens that require trucks on public roads to meet safety standards. Yes, that pesky rule that you have to pay a decent living wage so the people working would be working under slave labor conditions. continued
@Ryooken How about the tax breaks we give people for shipping jobs over seas? How much is the cost of living for these countries where we get our labor? How much do US companies pay them? Can they live off it? I find it ironic that you are belly aching about companies with executives that have more than one house but they won't pay people enough to even afford an apartment or a house of their own. How about Healthcare? continued
@Ryooken Let's see we are 38 in the entire planet when it comes to healthcare. You are saying that healthcare will bankrupt this country but you aren't worried about the fact that we are fighting 2 wars and that's what's bankrupting the country. We have allowed 2 wars to destroy our infrastructure and you are worried about taking care of old people? This is sad. Let's be clear without adequate health care we have even need field hospitals in our own country that only used in the 3rd world.
@Ryooken Those evil, greedy rich people are the ones that pay all the taxes. The vast majority in fact. Small to medium sized businesses drive the economy. They need to reward the small businesses more and stop pilfering from the rich for their slush money to build bridges to nowhere. Soon enough it will run out, and as the wealthy corporations and private individuals go overseas so go our tax revenues. The dems know nothing about fiscal responsibility, they never have. They spend like children
@jerrywitaj No actually they don't pay all the taxes. Here is the deal. Poor people pay those making under 30,000 a year pay about 20% of their income. Middle class pays 39% of their income, the wealth pay anywhere from 6% to 23% of their income. So do wealthy pay more money yes, but they pay less in percentages than both the middle class and the poor. This doesn't include the resources they use and the subsidies they get from the government. continued
@Ryooken Let's be honest about this. The wealthy that make up 1% to 6% in this country pay less laxes than the other 96-99% of the population. The fact that they make more money, doesn't change the problem. For example, let's I make 1,000,000,000 per year and I only pay 10% of my taxes which means I pay 100,000,000 per year. where as let's say I am middle class making 85,000 per year paying 39% in taxes. Roughly , speaking I pay 34,000 in taxes which almost half my income. continued
@Ryooken Now do I pay more money the more I make? Yes, I do but I pay less in percentages on my overall income. So if you really want to be fair. Tax the rich the same way you tax the middle class 39% of their income they can get a 10% break if they if they donate 5% to charity and call it a day.
@Ryooken I didn't say that was the top rate...I was repeating what YOU were giving me as YOUR rate. It didn't make sense to me. And during Clinton the top rate was 39%.
@Ryooken The elimination of the Bush tax cuts is an increase...on the middle class no less. And you know full well that a VAT tax is coming. And any regulatory or tax burden on corporations will be shouldered by the tax payer, not that corporation. You should know that too. His "decrease" was what, 500 bucks? Taken out of people's checks in increments over the year. And that was for only one year. Stop kidding yourself, in the long run, we will ALL be paying much higher taxes.
@jerrywitaj No that's not true. What is true is the tie in that the republicans are using. The middle class tax cut is being tied to the GW Bush tax extention. They even said yesterday on meet the press that they would only extend tax benefits to the poor and the middle class if the rich were included. So it's not the Obama administration but the Republicans.
@Ryooken Racism?? What are you talking about? Where? Please, stop using that as a crutch my man, its hard to sell that tired old line. Its called politics, nothing more. This isn't Chicago. And the blame game is just pathetic. This Obama's crisis. His stimulus failed. And don't forget who passed the FIRST round of stim money: your buddy Bush. 500 bil I think. There is really no evidence that the stimulus helped at all--especially when most of the jobs created or saved were government ones.
@jerrywitaj I am not using anything. I merely state facts. Racism is at the core of the problem with Obama. 400 year trends don't disappear overnight. If it walks like a duck, swims like a duck, and it lays an egg. Then it's a duck.
@Ryooken cont. I criticized Clinton just as heavily. That is sadly become commonplace after he was elected. Everyone thought it would be a new beginning for race relations in this country, but from what I've seen, I think its WORSE. Its really Chicago style politics. if you criticize someone of a diff race, or you don't agree with their politics, you're racist. They've done it that way for years there. I'm a conservative, and I just help but believe that Mr O is politically misdirected. IMO.
Christian= white republikan. Anyone that dissagrees with this government is a militant or terrorist. White people support it because they perceive the government as their benefactors, mush like a pig or a cow that is being fed and sheltered by the farmer. Many (not all) are unaware of the true nature of their relationship with their corporate masters.
It was white Christians who went out of their way to free a people they didn't know. White Christians give more to charity than any other group ever. The Jews have been inslaved over, and over and they don't even rate a piece of land not much bigger than a postage stamp. As we speak people all over the world are trying to pry it away from them. What makes rev wright any better than them.
You missed the simplest of concepts. Wright is speaking about the problems that whites bury their heads in the sand about, that have kept this country going in the same terrible direction since it was formed. When a white person can stop with the typical "knee-jerk" reactions when a PoC brings fourth a problem that the elites of their group (who run things) are doing, THEN people like Wright won't ever pop-up. But whites seem to be complacent when it comes to their problems.
And right on cue, you demonstrated that complacency that I was talking about. It seems like some (the ignorant ones) white people are seriously incapable of thinking objectively, and even considering (see: glance over at) a point of view that is alien to them. Not being able to shelve pre-conceived notions for even a minute and looking at something new is next to impossible for ignorant white folks! Especially when it's truth that is coming from a PoC that counters "white truth".
@DaBlackX so wba is evil because they think gay people go to hell but black people can hate anyone they want. now i get it. I'm not going to accuse all black people ofg thinking like you because that would be racist wouldn't it? i'm not going to talk about "black truth" because it would make me no better than wba
How you came to such an ass-backwards conclusion as your first question, I don't even know! All you did was make another white reactionary "knee-jerk" response that was laced with defeatist "hyperbole" that you tried to pass off as "honorable". The fact that you STILL can't put your whiteness on a shelf and actually LOOK at what Wright is saying is a testament to just how immune to objectivity you are. "Black Truth" was just an alternate label that I used for the term "REAL truth!"
African Americans are Israel just READ the curses in Deut. chapter 28. And in the last day's their shall be an explosion of knowledge. The book of Daniel.
@o0lBobl0o The fact remains we went to war over a lie generated by the Bush administration trading on fear and revenge. Oh please spare me that kumbayah moment. If we were that interested in Iraqis freedom we wouldn't have allowed US rape rooms, imprisoned female iraqis etc. This story will not wash
very interesting post. Keep it up!

And thanks for proving my point, i didn't say live birth, which is still disgusting you would stand up for that, i said late term abortions which means they can be aborted for no reason in the 3rd trimester. Arms, legs, brains, sucked out with a vacuum. Sad you support that.
Nothergods 1 year ago

Nothergods 1 year ago
@Nothergods I didn't say you stuck up for slavery. I said you excused it. There is a difference. The point is Black theology did misrepresent the bible. Talk about twisting of the bible. If you remember Jesus said himself he didn't come to abolish the law but to fullfill it. The old testament isn't strictly for the Hebrew people, it is for everyone that believes in God. If the old testament was just for the Jews then why aren't we only using the new testament?
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken
Nothergods 1 year ago
@Nothergods Wrong again each book of the bible has been misused it's not just the old testament. I see so the bible has nothing to do with America. LOL! Right so the bible is specific only to the Hebrew people right? You keep saying this nonsense and it doesn't hold water. God didn't destroy only the Hebrews in the old testament he destroyed the world. It's the same God.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Jesus didn't give us a new covenant that would be an abolishioning of the old law. You are trying to argue grace vs the law. I am sorry but grace doesn't cancel out the law. It simply keeps you from being punished for original sin and allows you access through the kingdom of heave through the blood and your works upon this earth. Like I said before don't try to play this game with me. Being Catholic I know the history of Christianity quite well and I understand prophetic law.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken
No the bible is not, the old testament is. you cant follow simple conversation and have twisted my words this whole time. Your ignorant to the word of God this is obvious, but if you can't see the difference between the real gospel and Wrights version your lost as well. Hope you figure it out brother,
Nothergods 1 year ago
@Nothergods The old testament is part of the bible and as I said before it's not that I can't follow the conversation, it's that you are mistaking my meaning. The new testament doesn't cancel out the old testament nor vice a versa. You belief that it does speaks tells me that you have very little understanding of biblical scripture as a whole.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken
Here is an exact quote from Wright, "Jesus was a poor black man" because he lived in oppression at the hands of "rich white people." Talk about a twist on the Bible, but go ahead and keep believing in your liberation theology that promotes racism.
Nothergods 1 year ago
@Nothergods First Jesus was a poor black man and second he was living in a culture and a country controlled by rich white people. What you missed was why he said that. God choose to bring a savior from the poor and the oppressed. We have seen this many times with Moses, David etc. That God raises up the least and does the most. What Wright was talking about is that God will send you someone that understands your problems.

Ryooken 1 year ago
Given the clear context and reasoning presented in this video [not saying one has to agree with it all], I am left greatly disappointed by the inability of the Mr. Obama [back then] and his advisors to deal with the controversy without having to throw Dr. Wright "under the bus" as it were. All he had to do was play the tape and case closed.
I'm very surprised Obama even sweated this.

So have most European countries. So have the Chinese and Japanese. You're an idiot if you think America has "never done anything to deserve this." @eastariel Really so when Martin Luther King said the USA was the greatest purveyor of violence.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken So are you saying that Reverend Wright isn't racist, doesn't hate his neighbors? Are you saying all those rumors aren't true?
Now I did just find this quote from Rev. Wright which -- though controversial -- I think makes sense. I believe America should dismantle every last WMD.
“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye.” ~ Pastor Jeremiah Wright
"Love thy neighbor as thyself." ~ Jesus
eastariel 1 year ago
@eastariel Truthfully let's say he could be a racist. If that was the case then president Lyndon B Johnson wouldn't be here. Yes, in fact those rumors are rumors. It would be awfully dificult for him to be a bigot if so many white theologians are standing up for him. Let's be clear he was talking about the biblical principle of what goes around comes around. He is saying you cannot kill civilians not soldiers then be upset when your civilians are attacked.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Also I see you didn't listen to the sermon. What was it about? Do you know. What our response should be in this unthinkable act. We should use this time to reflect on how our actions may have contributed to this attack, we should use this time to not seek revenge but seek out time and get closer to God. Now since you want to talk about part of what he said then you should speak on it all.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken ... you're right. I didn't listen to the sermon; I listened to rumors instead.
I'm listening to the sermon right now; at 5:22, and I'm all riled up. "Violence begets violence; hatred begets hatred; and terrorism begets terrorism." Jeez, I feel like I'm listening to myself here. I apologize.
I opposed the Iraq war when it first began; that's when I first started writing letters to the president.

Now let's see if Obama really listened to the good reverend.
eastariel 1 year ago
@eastariel Aplogy accepted. Like I said reverend Wright is harsh but what he said is in line with Christ. He has a way to making you think because he draws from the past a parallell that ties you to the present. I wish more ministers were like him. If that they were the world would be a better place and we would probably be treating each other far far better than we do.

eastariel 1 year ago
@trowsertrowt That's not what was said. Oh well there are so many holes in what you just said it's not even funny. Let me clear up some things for you. First of all what Wright was talking about was that it wasn't just white people that died in the trade center but black people too. This is important to know because and I am sorry to say that in America only white people are thought of as Americans while others aren't so we don't always see the tradgedy in the same way. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Secondly, if you believe that only the Native Americans are the only victims of American injustice then please go and relearn history because you are woefully mistaken. Now the French who were white didn't start the chattel slave trade it was Europe in general mainly the Portugues. However, regardless of who started it the agreement made by Europe with the pope to enslave the non-white world is a matter of fact. The US has not ended global slave trade. continued

@Ryooken I don't know why its disingenuous. You've looked over your grandmother's tax returns? The poor pay consumption taxes, (can't wait for that VAT tax to kick in) but no income taxes. Whether or not they pay state taxes, I don't know.

The funny part is, he looks white. I'll bet he sunburns easier than I do. Half Cracker.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj LOL! Are you serious? Everyone knows that in this country that anything a black man says is suspect and only validation most people accept is from a white man. They left the church because of white opinion both of these people need white approval to get elected and to keep the Oprah Winfrey show going. We live in a country where a popular news channel spews racist epitapth daily i.e. Fox News and no one white says anything but you demonize blacks for speaking the truth.
Ryooken 1 year ago 2
@Ryooken Yes I am serious. And of course you need white approval to get elected, because if you have a logical bone in your body, you would understand that white people are the majority in this country, so it would would stand to reason that you need the white vote. The black vote is important as well, but they aren't the majority. And everything the Wright said in HIS CHURCH was taken seriously, of course. You may believe that the black man (or woman) isn't taken seriously, but I disagree.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj LOL!
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken One more thing: Case in point that a what a black man says IS taken seriously....Barack Obama. He wouldn't have been elected if whites, blacks et al, didn't take him seriously. Your arguments are falling like a house of cards.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago

Personally I DON'T think Obama was qualified in 08...I think Hillary was much more qualified to be president (though i wouldn't vote for her, ever) Obama needed a few more years under his belt to be president.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj Really? I see so the wife of a former president is more qualified than an actual Senator constitutional lawyer that worked in every level of government right? LOL! Thank you! You just proved my point. By the way if my arguments can be picked apart please do so and we can begin. Politics 101 states that a person must be eligible. I do agree that it's turned into a popularity contest but that really wasn't my point and thank you for missing it.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken She's more than the wife of a former president....silly man, you know that ...I hope. She has more experience than Mr. O. She's been a senator longer, worked on George Mcgovern's pres election staff, worked for Mondale's staff, worked on the impeachment committee for Nixon, etc etc. She has more experience. Would she be better than Obama? Who knows, I don't like her and I don't trust her, but her experience is undeniable. Obama needed more seasoning. He would have gotten more respect.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj Actually that's how she got to be a senator in the first place you silly man. Yes, she has been a senator longer but her experience as a senator is the only besides being Bill's wife she can draw on. I didn't say she wasn't qualified I said she was less qualified than Obama. If you looke at her resume as opposed to his you will see he far outdistances her in both legal and governmental experience from local to state to federal. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken In fact, if you compare her entire experience she hasn't much outside the senate. In Yale law school she studied child brain development. She does have a minor labor background as she had served on Mondale's subcommittee. What she does know and what qualifies her is the extensive knowledge of the key political players in the Senate and the House. However, if you think that her experience out plays Obama's you need to examine everything.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken She's been a washington political insider much longer....you neglected the impeachment committee, and McGovern. Bless her corrupt liberal leftist commie heart, she has way more experience...and Bill is a good cheat sheet if she gets in trouble. But then again, I'm sure she can't community organize like Mr O!
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj You're right I did leave that out in her credentials. I left a lot of stuff out of Obama's too. Short of space and all. However, what I find funny is this constant reference to community organizers. To organize people on a grass root level is not only invaluable but it's adds extreme value to any presidential candidate. FDR had it and so did JFK, Ronald Reagan had it to a lesser degree. So no she cannot organize, she also had in fighting during her campaign. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken So did McCain that's part of that wonderful skill of being about to organize your community. It's the mark of a good leader. So you guys keep making that crack about community organizers if you want to but it's a skill that cannot be taught and not many of our leaders have had the skil especially considering that many of the voters continue to be jaded.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Nothing at all wrong with community organizing ,no way. However, I wouldn't want that to be one of the few things that my presidential candidate had to hang his hat on. LIke I said, he's too inexperienced, but if he had waited four more years or so ,I would respect him more, and definitely NOT make fun of his community organizing experience. One thing i would advise to you is: just because some white people criticize Obama, it doesnt mean they're racist. Its just politics, nothing more.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj I think you are missing some salient points.
First he is a constitutional lawyer
Second he has worked for years in the local state and federal level.
Third he has international experience not his strong suit but he has it.
The only thing he has lacked was executive experience.
He has a great deal of things to hang his hat on. He served 7 years in the state senate and 3 years in the federal senate. He has over 10 years in the legislature. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken I am going to bed I will pick this up in the morning.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken But to be PRESIDENT, you need to have executive experiece, ie, running something..a mayor, governor for example. There is no substitution, really. Most successful presidents have been governors, as you may know. The last president that wasn't was Kennedy. Obama's very poor response to the Gulf oil disaster is a case in point. Plus he's spread too politically thin, and tries to please all of his base, which effectively ties his hands, and The congress has used him as a doormat.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj LOL! W. Bush. without executive experience. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken I see so President Obama is doing a worse job than GW Bush that did have experience being governor in his crisis but Obama failed to do well in his disaster. Well let's look at that for a second. Obama responded quickly to the disaster. He worked with the oil company to provide relief, he held the people in his own agency responsible, he is investigating the issues. He has been there 3 times and he is working tirelessly to deal with this being one of many crisis. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Let's look at what Bush did. He waited 4 days to go down to during hurrican Katrina. There was very little relief effort in the beginning, there was no authority in charge, there was no federal support, when there was federal support there was no real well balanced support. If you were to compare the two situations, I can tell you that Obama is doing a decent job. He cannot control everything but he is working to solve the problem and the spill is being taken care of.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken At least Bush went down there---Obama took, what, 45 DAYS before he visited. JIndal, Carville, and other locals were screaming for him to do something. What kind of leadership is that? And the issues around Katrina were much more complex than that. There was ineptitude on every level, federal, state, municipal, they ALL basically f-d up. Not to mention the utter corruption of LA politics that held up money and aid....NO ONE is without blame in that time. Too complex to get into that.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj First of all Obama sent someone to investigate the spill on day 1. He didn't wait 4 days. He worked closely to see how the spill was progressing, when it became apparent it would become a national emergency. He declared it so then went down there. He worked with his advisors the whole time. He didn't say oh those people should fend for themselves. He did say why don't those people take care of the spill on their own. GW did that.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken I didn't say there weren't many previous presidents that were senators--but you got me on the number. I also forgot that Nixon and G HW Bush were without executive experience, so my bad there. On everything else, spoken like a true kool-aid drinking dem!
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj No you just stated the most successful were governors. That was a bold statement considering that some of the most successful presidents came from congress. Also some of the worst presidents were both governors and congress people. So having either doesn’t necessarily automatically make you a good or bad president
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken And by the way, ad hominem attacks aren't necessary. Civility is an art form.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj Actually I wasn't attacking you. That was a take off on your comment about reality.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Cont... All the hallmarks of a completely inexperienced president. I mean, the things this guy has promised and subsequently broken, often because of his political naivete, could fill a book. Unless of course he was lying to begin with, and then he's just another dishonest creep.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj Wrong you know what Obama's biggest problem is? He trusted the republican party to keep their word and work for the benefit of the American people. Yes, he was naive about that he has honor and they have none. How many programs has Obama tried to push forward for the good of the US that they tried to block and wouldn't support? In fact, the stimulus money he wanted to give Louisiana would have helped with the recovery but Bobby Jindal blocked it. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken All because of racism and sour grapes. The sad part is that the American people will suffer most for this. Let's get back to Obama. During the economic crisis unemployment rose nationally from 6% to over 10%. A crisis I might add was brought on by a previous president with executive experience. If Obama hadn't acted the rate would have gone up over 15% to 20%. His action stabilized the job loss and now we are a little over 9%. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken The major reason this is going on is because corporate America is still sending jobs overseas. If you compare this crisis to the one during the Great Depression Obama is doing better than most presidents would especially considering he is still dealing with two wars that FDR didn't have.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Not exactly. He's doing a TERRIBLE job. When you propose MASSIVE regulatory burdens on corporations, tax increases, health care burdens, OF COURSE they are going to leave for friendlier and cheaper borders. Clinton started the mass corporate exodus, and now Obama is going to finish it. We are in a boatload of trouble if this guy has his way. Face it, either he has absolutely no grasp of economics, or he is downright trying to destroy this country. Which one is it? Can you say Alinsky??
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj Really what tax increases? It's a fact that under the Obama plan 95% of the people's taxes went down not up. Really are these the same burdens that would have prevented the oil spill in the first place? How about the tax burdens that require trucks on public roads to meet safety standards. Yes, that pesky rule that you have to pay a decent living wage so the people working would be working under slave labor conditions. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken How about the tax breaks we give people for shipping jobs over seas? How much is the cost of living for these countries where we get our labor? How much do US companies pay them? Can they live off it? I find it ironic that you are belly aching about companies with executives that have more than one house but they won't pay people enough to even afford an apartment or a house of their own. How about Healthcare? continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Let's see we are 38 in the entire planet when it comes to healthcare. You are saying that healthcare will bankrupt this country but you aren't worried about the fact that we are fighting 2 wars and that's what's bankrupting the country. We have allowed 2 wars to destroy our infrastructure and you are worried about taking care of old people? This is sad. Let's be clear without adequate health care we have even need field hospitals in our own country that only used in the 3rd world.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Those evil, greedy rich people are the ones that pay all the taxes. The vast majority in fact. Small to medium sized businesses drive the economy. They need to reward the small businesses more and stop pilfering from the rich for their slush money to build bridges to nowhere. Soon enough it will run out, and as the wealthy corporations and private individuals go overseas so go our tax revenues. The dems know nothing about fiscal responsibility, they never have. They spend like children
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj No actually they don't pay all the taxes. Here is the deal. Poor people pay those making under 30,000 a year pay about 20% of their income. Middle class pays 39% of their income, the wealth pay anywhere from 6% to 23% of their income. So do wealthy pay more money yes, but they pay less in percentages than both the middle class and the poor. This doesn't include the resources they use and the subsidies they get from the government. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Let's be honest about this. The wealthy that make up 1% to 6% in this country pay less laxes than the other 96-99% of the population. The fact that they make more money, doesn't change the problem. For example, let's I make 1,000,000,000 per year and I only pay 10% of my taxes which means I pay 100,000,000 per year. where as let's say I am middle class making 85,000 per year paying 39% in taxes. Roughly , speaking I pay 34,000 in taxes which almost half my income. continued
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Now do I pay more money the more I make? Yes, I do but I pay less in percentages on my overall income. So if you really want to be fair. Tax the rich the same way you tax the middle class 39% of their income they can get a 10% break if they if they donate 5% to charity and call it a day.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken How do you pay LESS in percentages of your income--when its nearly 50%????
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj Because it's not 50%. That's a misnomer or if you prefer a lie. Even during the Clinton administration the tax rate was 35%.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken I didn't say that was the top rate...I was repeating what YOU were giving me as YOUR rate. It didn't make sense to me. And during Clinton the top rate was 39%.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@Ryooken Poor people pay NO TAXES.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@Ryooken The elimination of the Bush tax cuts is an increase...on the middle class no less. And you know full well that a VAT tax is coming. And any regulatory or tax burden on corporations will be shouldered by the tax payer, not that corporation. You should know that too. His "decrease" was what, 500 bucks? Taken out of people's checks in increments over the year. And that was for only one year. Stop kidding yourself, in the long run, we will ALL be paying much higher taxes.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj No that's not true. What is true is the tie in that the republicans are using. The middle class tax cut is being tied to the GW Bush tax extention. They even said yesterday on meet the press that they would only extend tax benefits to the poor and the middle class if the rich were included. So it's not the Obama administration but the Republicans.
Ryooken 1 year ago
@Ryooken Racism?? What are you talking about? Where? Please, stop using that as a crutch my man, its hard to sell that tired old line. Its called politics, nothing more. This isn't Chicago. And the blame game is just pathetic. This Obama's crisis. His stimulus failed. And don't forget who passed the FIRST round of stim money: your buddy Bush. 500 bil I think. There is really no evidence that the stimulus helped at all--especially when most of the jobs created or saved were government ones.
jerrywitaj 1 year ago
@jerrywitaj I am not using anything. I merely state facts. Racism is at the core of the problem with Obama. 400 year trends don't disappear overnight. If it walks like a duck, swims like a duck, and it lays an egg. Then it's a duck.
Ryooken 1 year ago

What makes rev wright any better than them.
o0lBobl0o 1 year ago
@o0lBobl0o
DaBlackX 1 year ago
@DaBlackX i can agree that there tactics are less than Christian but they are certainly not violent. Wright is no better. He is far from Christian.
o0lBobl0o 1 year ago
@o0lBobl0o
DaBlackX 1 year ago
@DaBlackX so wba is evil because they think gay people go to hell but black people can hate anyone they want. now i get it. I'm not going to accuse all black people ofg thinking like you because that would be racist wouldn't it? i'm not going to talk about "black truth" because it would make me no better than wba
o0lBobl0o 1 year ago
@o0lBobl0o
