  • Grocery haul, what a great idea!

  • Holy crap...I was watching one of your earlier videos, and I just watched this one. You look really great. Like a completely different person.

  • You look super sexy in this vid Shanti. ( :

  • I also LOVE pb and j on english muffins! Thomas brand whole wheat ones are great

  • words can't describe how much i love you :) and your channel is such a huge inspiration on losing weight slowly, which i really need to learn how to do. i lost a huge amount of weight a few months ago, but did it really fast only to find that i have gained it all back :( so thanks for being my go-to inspiration for losing 10 pounds :)

  • I LOVE ENGLISH MUFFINS!

  • stop obsessing about what you eat you only live once eat happy food like steak or pasta stop worrying about getting fat your beautiful

  • do they take ebt food??

  • @apostolicmoma23 yes, they do

  • i like ur vids.. and love ur hair...in this one.. you look slim.. and pretty.

  • By the way ... all of Trader Joe's fresh juice is made by Naked Juice.

This is what Trader Joes does.

They take quality name brands and put their own name on them ... and sell them for much less than their competitors!

    I love TJ's!

  • antishay,

You should store the Trader Joes brown rice tortillas in your freezer. You'll increase their lifespan by many days.

All of the bakery items with the "Trader Joes" name on them contain no preservatives or artificial anything!

Most of their breads / tortillas are shipped with a 3-4 day shelf life. So if you can't use them within that time span ... freeze them and use them as needed.

    Great video! Thanks!

  • @codethis i've found even just the refrigerator helps preserve them for a decent amount of time. sometimes all my bread and tortillas stick together too much if i freeze them.

  • falafel is fried if im correct? dosent that add alot of cals?

  • I made pizza with their flatbread, marinara sauce, sliced sausage, mozza, and grated parm.

  • Have you since tried the Ak-Mac with the Tzatziki? It's AMAZING!!!

This week I'm going to try the tortilla pizzas :D Thanks for the great meal ideas!

  • You look like JOJO

  • Love TJs!!

  • You know what I love that is so good you should really try this. Take one large thin piece of pita bread you can find it at international markets and then you can use that to make the pizza instead of a tortilla pizza. Just put the pizza sauce on it then some parsley, cheese and pineapple or mushrooms whatever your topping choices are and bake it at 400 for about 10 minutes just until the cheese melts and it is nice and crispy mmm.... so good

  • Could you give me your falafel recipe? I eat alot of mediterranean/middle eastern food but never had any luck with making tasty falafel.

  • I buy similar fibre crackers called Wasa thins- so good with laughing cow cheese and cucumbers/bean sprouts on it!! <3 yum

  • i think you should try the white bean hummos that that same brand makes i find it more flavorful than the regualr hummous

  • I got it and I like it :D But I think I still prefer the Mediterranean hummus. Thanks for the recommendation!

  • ur so pretty omg i really like ur videos! im losing weight and find u very helpful

  • those crackers look like wasa crackers, nasty alone but great with hummus or peanut butter--yum!!

  • Thanks girl! Have you heard about that new show - Cook your way Thin? Its pretty good, a lot of good ideas!

  • Thanks for the idea!

  • I LIVE IN LA I ALSO SHOP AT TRADER JOE'S

  • You play guitar? What make is that?

  • It's a Hocher something

  • Yummo...You might want to make your own hummus its usually alot healthier tastes way better and is so easy and is really cheap

  • I tried some athenos hummus for the first time and ugh i don't think it was very good. and what in the heck is a falafel (sp??)

  • is trder joes local???

  • It's all over the west coast, not sure if it's anywhere else.

  • TJ's is also in Seattle, I love it. It sure beats "Whole Paycheck" I mean whole foods, especially on prices.

  • Nope not at all, I am on a fairly strict food budget myself, and do quite well eating a natural/ non-processed diet.

    My suggestions, would be:

    1) Buy lots of low cost in season fruits, and vegetables. Find a farmers market in the summer for the best deals.

    2) Brown Rice, an excellent whole grain is dirt cheap.

    3) Watch for sales on whole grain products, such as Kashi, and Triscuit Crackers for example.

    4) Eat more vegetarian meals: brown rice, and beans is an excellent cheap meal.

  • Pomegranate seeds in champagne is really good...and they float from the bottom to the top of the glass, which is really neat...

  • You look so amazing keep up the awesome work......You have inspired me to start my on video journal....I have been on this new way of eating plus working out for about a month now...Videos will come soon.....

  • Trader joes Granola is like Crack!!

The Maple Pecan is totally my craving lately.. Great Haul!

I like your menu ideas also..

What kind of motorcycle do you have?

    <3 Brenda

  • Thanks :D

    1986 Yamaha Maxim XJ700 :D

  • I love your grocery hauls! I always want to try hummus, but I can never find it in the store

  • Athenos makes hummus you can find just about anywhere - but it has HFCS in it so I avoid it. It IS realyl hard to find preservative-free hummus. You could always make it - very easy :D

  • awesome haul!!!

i love watching your hauls because i get SO many wonderful ideas for meals.

i loveee english muffins. i used to eat them with sugar and cinnamon [the old me!] but now i just use them for when i have veggie hamburger patties or whatnot.

    =]

  • Ummmmmmm w/sugar and cinnamon sounds amazing.

  • I got this flat bread, which is pretty much like a tortilla and i made a pizza with it last night, SO GOOD! I love how the edges get all crispy. And surprisingly filling as well.

  • If any spare food lefts...you know...

I love Greg, but I still feel sorry hearing ..I give S the trunk back..it makes it permanent.

    But you go girl!

You're so beautiful and full of life!

  • Thank you :D

    <3

  • u look soooo great n healthy, beautiful skin and AMAZING hair!!!!!!!

  • Great haul, I might have to make a new haul video after my hand in for sure! Have a great week!

  • Hey do a vid about how you had to change your wardrobe.....i know u had to :-D u look awesome!

  • Kashi Stoneground crackers are really good with laughing cow cheese too :)

  • I LOVE Kashi stoneground :D But they don't have them at TJ's which is why I'm trying others.

  • thank you so much for your grocery hauls! so helpful in giving me new ideas to try. i'm craving the pizza tortillas now, will try it soon. my suggestion: for some reason i just discovered cooking banana in my oatmeal (microwave) and so i'm loving that every morning. also i've started drinking fiber in my water, it's metamucil clear and tasteless, i don't know if it's really going to help with weight loss or not, but i hear it helps carry the fat out faster or something?

  • I love to buy the hard rice paper, float it in hot water to make is soft and then put avocado, tuna, sprouts, grated carrot and a little bit of sweet chilli sauce inside, roll it up and stick it in my mouth.

Also the most DELISH thing in the world - take walnuts and dates and and blend them into a tough dough texture with the aid of about half an orange worth of orange juice, roll them into small truffle like balls and them roll them cocoa powder - it SOUNDS horrible, but is just divine.

  • YUMYUM thank you for the idea :D

  • Cool haul. About the pomegranate seeds, I freeze them and then eat them that way. Like a healthy version of ice cream dots, but better! how did the juice thing go?

  • That is such as AWESOME idea - thank you!

  • Instead of staples, I spend more time using creative ways of getting in the more boring things. (Such as veggies). Soup. Homemade soup is a staple I'd say, although it varies which kind I eat. But it's so filling versus just eating the veggies. =]

  • I eat steamed veggies as snacks... and fresh peppers and carrots and cucumber YUM.

  • And a biker chick to boot eh?

Yeah, probably politic to return the truck in the circumstances!

Now you can start saving up for the minivan for your kids!

  • Do you eat meat?

  • sometimes

  • Shanti,you look absolutely great now :)

    Smaller and thinner!

Keep up the good work! :D

  • Cool motorcycle I had 74 Yamaha Enduro GT80. My dad wouldn't let me ride it on the streets and my cousin was a bitch about it and took it back, I loved the thing though.. Anyway I might try those pomegranate seeds, never have before.

  • shanti, just want to say that you are such an inspiration. Ive been watching you're videos now for the past couple of weeks and you have inspired me in ways that years of weight watchers and other fad diets have not done. I've just started my own weight loss and am down 3 pounds so far. Thank you so much 3>

  • Get the unpeeled Palmegranate (sp?) its cheaper, its just a messy process to eat it.

  • i would tottaly buy those pomegrant seeds if they sold them,...thats a great idea. i love pomegrants but there such a pain haha

  • LOL thanks :D

    I have a 1986 Yamaha Maxim 700XJ. I love it :)

  • lol too cool, thanks for replying.

  • Glad to see someone eating so much good, organic food. Whoever says that starving yourself is the way to lose weight is on crack. All that food looks so damn good! I think I'm getting back to organic foods, even though they are really expensive. I remember when I lost 50 pounds just by changing to organic foods. Then I stopped because of the price and ate processed cheap food and gained back 25 lbs. Sucks....

  • OMG where did you get those pomegranate seeds, thats awesome and so convenient...

  • Trader Joe's...

  • Ahh- I miss Trader Joe's soooo much! I moved out of WA and they don't have them here. . .it's such an awesome store! Thanks for sharing.

  • What do you dip in the hummus?

  • The Ak-Mak crackers and sliced carrots and cucumbers.

  • awesome HAUL! <3 yours are always my favorite. because I love EVERYTHING you buy. i need to buy that pizza sauce& totillas now. and i never found Better N peanut butter =/

omg i love the garlic and herb cheese i always have it with those same crackers!! aalso Ak Mack! now i gotta try it with hummus. And the PB&J english muffins. MMM

  • I don't understand "Better N Peanut Butter".

My all natural peanut butter has one ingredient: Peanuts.

I picked up a jar of "Better N Peanut Butter" read the ingredients list, and put it back down.

I don't know why you would want to trade something as simplistic as all natural peanut butter, for a heavily processed product, with extra thickeners, and flavorings.

Yes, it has less fat, however, the fats in PB are the good fats anyway!!

  • Thanks. I didn't know about the ingredients being bad. I would have probably bought it. :)

  • agreeed!

  • I want to try hummus.. but I'm so afraid I won't like it. =/

  • i was scared to try it too, but i bought some a couple of weeks ago and now i like it. i didn't really love it at first but i had a container of hummus to finish so i ate it with veggies and now i'm hooked.

  • Trader Joes is the BEST! Great video!!

  • The Brown rice tortillas freeze well, just in case you don't end up eating them all at once.

Not sure if you know about it, but if you bring your own bags to Trader Joe's you get entered into a drawing for $25 of free groceries.

  • this video made me so happy --- I LOLed ... <3 for you all over your face

  • HAha thank you <33

  • Soon as I get off this Island, I gotta grab me some organic peanut butter! Drink lots of water with those fiber cracker. Great haul!

  • Oh, my...if you like english muffins, you should try the Ezekiel 4:9 english muffins by Food for Life. They are THE BOMB...no processed flours. I talk about them in the one grocery haul I did.

  • oh damn, I am going to have to try the TJ pomagrant seeds. I like to put them in greek yogurt and then mix in some cereal...mmmmmmmmm. So good.

  • Ooh I never thought of that! YES I will try that - thank you :D

  • You should try wasa bread. It's like those fiber crackers you bought. "hard bread" Really nice and they have all sorts and of course very low calories :D

  • u should try trader joes whole wheat english muffins they are sooooo good i like them with peanut butter and tj's apricot preserves mmmmmmmm

  • Nice haul, I wish we had a trader joe's closer :(

Take care and thanks for sharing with us!

  • Anything that expires quickly...take half and put it in a freezer bags and put in your freezer until your ready to use!

  • So awesome that you're back and i always love to see what you get.

  • Did I leave?

    LOL thanks :)

  • Great haul. I noticed that stuff from Trader Joe's does have a short shelf life.

  • It really depends on the thing :P Like the fresh hummus that I used to get at Central Market lasted only a couple of days, whereas TJ's lasts a couple of weeks. Same with tzaziki and yogurt... but yeah those tortillas have a really short shelf life :)

  • I wish we had trader joes down here in Texas!
