It was meant to come out in 2008 but it didn't so, I think it's not going to come out now.

Probably they stoped developing it to work on the witcher 2, and all the technology from the rise of the white wolf was used on W2.

But I might be wrong of course.

So console gamers aren't going to get the witcher until january 2012 when TW2 is going to be converted into xbox360.

I think that the console graphics are going to be bad as this game uses the newest technology and xbox is 6 years old now.

@zegorat22 well, cossacks in fact never used shashkas, only traditional swords and sabers. And shashka as well as saber doesn't have straight blade. In the video a normal sword is shown, only its counterguard is V-shaped like in claymore.

I would say the movie is just an combination of all parts of TV series, thats why its really bad. I really liked TV series tho , mayby the effects arent so cool as we can see in movies now , but its really worth of watching it

I watched the series as well. Apart from the cheap production values, the series is pretty good. In all honesty I found it more interesting than Legend of the Seeker series (after a few episodes I started watching LOTS only because of Bridget Regan).

As for the Hexer movie, considering it is cut from 13 episodes of the series, off course it's rubish. People can't expect 10 or so hours of story to be shortened to 1 1/2 hours without consequences.

It's too bad this game got scrapped. It sounds like they basically licensed out the rights for another company to make a console version of The Witcher with a different combat system and better graphics...maybe a slightly different storyline. The combat looked fun, sort of like assassin's creed. Too bad the company they licensed out to apparently wasn't up to par....

I don't know much about the Witcher, is the character influenced by the Michael Moorcock character Elric? He was referred to as the White Wolf, and they look very similar.

@Soxpert Near as I can tell, about all they have in common is they have white hair, use a sword and live in more morally ambiguous worlds than say Lord of the Rings or something like that. As far as their character goes...they do both have sort of a "devil may care" attitude, but beyond that I think Geralt is a lot less whiny and has some actual combat skills, whereas Elric depends mostly on his magic sword to get him through a fight. There is definitely some influence to be sure though.
