  • In regards to the inquiry of the white antique hearse. Plans were to have the casket in a horse drawn open hearse, but the length of the funeral, mixed in with the length from the church to cemetery, caused the funeral arrangers to change the plans. Plus, cemetery was actually closed for business by the time the procession began.

  • Hosanna!!!

  • I'm a white 16 year old, and I'm very thankfull for Mrs. Rosa Parks!!! My best friend is African-American, we would not be friends if it was not for a determined Lady who said "I don't care what it take's, we all WILL be treated equally!" One day there will be NO discrimination! It doesn't matter the color of your skin we all bleed red!!!

  • I still remember this day. I was working at the Pizza Hut right there and we was all waiting for the funeral to let out so we could see Miss Parks ride final ride.

  • 7HR FUNERAL DON'T MAKE NO SENSE. THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND FUNERAL WONT BE THAT LONG

  • @cjzzzzz I guess it is truly a matter of opinion. To compare your example is crazy though to me.

One changed History. The other was born into a silver spoon.

    Huge Difference (in my opinion)

  • @cjzzzzz if you dont like it then why the heck are you here?

  • @cjzzzzz WOW!!! when U lived as long as Mother Parks & done so much for the people of color.. U R truly remembered.. Like Theartist159 stated.. " huge difference among both". Let's see what ur " dash" on ur headstone reads..

  • @cjzzzzz, Corretta Scott King's funeral was 6 hours long and I think LA Mayor Tom Bradley's funeral was 3 hours.

  • A sad loss RIP

  • The very first white hearst with the horses along side it. I slowed the video at that point.

  • @theartist159, so her funeral began at 11:00 am and ended at 5:00 pm (7 hours).

  • rip

  • which vehicle is she in???

  • @Byronpat i think she was in the first one

  • i was out there that night and i will never forget this moment

    R.I.P ROSA PARKS

  • Why was it at night the same thing for Coretta??

  • It just ended at night due to such a long ceremony.

  • Oh wow..lol

  • RIP Rosa Parks

    just a white guy

  • I attended the service in DC and it was a very emotional time for many people...she stood for what she believed and made folk listen to what she had to say as well as made the US open their eyes to watch many was trying to get them to see....we will forever miss u and we will always honor you for you accomplishments and achievements....WELL DONE MRS. PARKS....WELL DONE...

  • ms. parks you were truly an inspiration to many and it's sad that the youth of today have no clue as to who you are but among those who know you and your struggles through this hard road of yours you moved each and every single one of us you will be truly missed. r.i.p rosa parks may god bless your soul and carry you amongst the saints that you are.

  • you helped change the world mrs.rosa parks

  • sorry but i jus came to this world recently after bieng genetically engineered, can anyone tell me who is rosa parks and what was she succeful at?

  • R.I.P Rosa Parks

    y so many hearses

  • There were many flowers and momentos that needed to get to the final resting place as well. Thats why there were so many hearses.

  • thats not why.. b/c the flowers and stuff goes in a flower car

  • Working in the funeral business for twenty years, there are a few rare instances when you have so many flowers and items, that you need more than the flower car. Most funeral homes don't have a fleet of flower car because they are dual-purposed (hearse, flower vehicle). Every now and then (not often) hearses do perform double duty as flower cars.

  • wow outstanding. I was there too. We love you Mama Rosa!!

  • Bigger hero than superman

  • Rosa, u rock!!

  • the woman who rose above fear that keep all of us down

  • Thank You so Much for the compliment. It's things like this that give me the "fuel" to do what I do.

  • Thanks for posting this tribute. The buses in the procession were a nice touch. RIP Mama Rosa and to all of the civil rights warriors.

  • She deserves every bit of this. Thanx Rosa 4 all u have done. May the good Lord above bless u! RIP

  • I like the music that is playing. Which hearse was Rosa in? Was it the very 1st 1 where the horse r running beside it? I just want 2 make sure. RIP Rosa Parks and thanx 4 posting this!

  • her body was in the first hearse, the antique one

  • The important thing is that I put Jesus into the situation as a reminder of whom was by her side from the very beginning. The clipart that I used is the clipart that I had!

Everyone is entitled to have their own "personal picture" of Jesus in their mind. Whether or not he had Blonde hair and Blue eyes is irrelevant to me and if you Truly Believe, it shouldn't matter to you either.

  • To me Jesus isn't white or black; look at where Isreal is- most are olive skinned, dark brown or black hair, wavy. Inversely, God (and the Devil for that matter) can appear in any form.

  • Why would you put a white picture of jesus there?

  • I am a 72 year old white male who remembers the Rosa Parks era. I cry as I watch this now.

Thank God for people like Rosa Parks. They don't come around often.

  • This was truly a send off for a queen! Our youth should know what it really means to have someone of her stature from our race. Not these rappers who degrade and dehumanize each other and pour beer from a 40 oz on the ground!

  • Unfortunately, most of our young folks know very little about the small but significant acts of bravery and courage and the people that performed these acts that allow them the freedom to do what they do today.

  • Thanks for posting I never got to see this.

  • Why doesnt anyone under 30 know who she was? These ignorate brothers and sisters are to busy listening to gansta rap and killing eachother, kissing white folks rear, instead of getting educated about civil rights, and why they have the right to vote, read, and ride the front of a bus, and become independent.

  • I made sure that I took my Son with me that evening to experience History with me.

  • Thats good keep him away from the stupid hate message driven gangsta rap and any other negative influences that poison our youth mind. Make sure he take a few history classes so he can learn about history and he will understand and see the self destruction and the disparity of some of the youth of today

  • @11xr1east

I don't understand your point of "kissing white folks rear". Isn't Mrs. Parks' legacy about equality? Why would you get on here and post something so political and racist? I don't believe that was her point in standing up (or in this case, remain seated) for what was right and challenging the status quo of her day. So that no race could call itself superior to any other. Mrs. Parks will live on in history in the hearts of all Americans whether they were born black or white!

  • She deserved all that and so much more!! Why doesn't anyone younger than 30 even know who she is these days!! She was a WARRIOR!!!

  • y 4 hearses??

  • wondering the same thing, I believe her body was in the first one, which would be the old one

  • Her body was in the first one and all of her flowers and memorabilia was in the others I believe.

  • WHO DID HER EUGLOLY

  • There were plenty of people that did. Anyone from the Clinton's to Jesse Jackson. It was a really moving experience to be able to capture this footage.

  • Barack Obama did some as well.

  • Everybody and their pastor. Beautiful service. 8 hours long but precious....RIP sister Parks

  • Barack Obama was there I believe as well, as well as Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, both of which spoke

  • r.i.p rosa parks

  • Thanks for the comment Dude. It was truly a moving experience being there. I just had to take my son to witness history.
