L.O.V.E. got a hold of me It was late last night and it’s good and tight (I said) L.O.V.E. got a hold of me It was late last night and it’s good and tight Good and tight I hit a lonely space So I checked a little down place on the avenue I did a zoom across a very crowded room and I spotted you (babe) Right then and there that little stare Gave me the feelin’ And it’s here to stay All the smoothest honeys of the world Couldn’t tear me away
L.O.V.E. got a hold of me It was late last night and it’s good and tight (I said) L.O.V.E. got a hold of me It was late last night and it’s good and tight Good and tight We did our maiden dance and we fell into the trance Pf a funky tune I had a dream about a hot and heavy scene Strarring me and you (babe) The music cooked and we both looked with only fire Burnin’ in your eyes And the thrill of having you so near took me To paradise
Demis Roussos was among the passengers on that hijacked 1985 flight with the courageous German stewardess Uli Derickson who spent his birthday during the ordeal.
non chui vert notre DEMIS ROUSSOS wouaou super en forme sur ce morceau dance floor un registre que je ne lui connaissait pas en tout cas tres efficace chapeau demis bises de france
Thank you for providing the background on Demis Roussos, AfroMan. The first time I heard this cut was on the excellent 'The Loft: Volume 2' CD mentioned by Russell230870. I thought that this gentleman was just another one-hit disco wonder. I did not know he was a superstar in Greece. It's one of my favorite cuts from the CD. The song boasts a shining example of outstanding string arrangement that accompanied several songs from the disco era. Thanks for posting this gem!
Crap artist but great track ! I've told people about this track and they always lugh when i say it's by demis roussos but they won't listen to it..great track..can be found on the loft vol 2 cd..which in itself is out of print.
crap artist my ass man!!!!! go check his discography..... he has sold so many albums, he was mentioned in the world guinness book of records twice! how can he be a crap artist if there was such a demand for his records?go get your shit straight man and don't diss someone whose music has touched so many and was a pioneer in his time! plus there are other songs by him that were really good such as: let it happen, i dig you, just live.....etc
him and vangelis had formed a rock progressive band called aphrodites child, so yeah in a way he sang for vangelis. basically vangelis had made a series of productions for demis roussos and apparently they are great friends!
This was a one off 4 Demis as the Village Peoples "renaissance" lp was in their career. Its probably a track that got some airplay in France at the time of release (as Robdan wrote) & probably also Germany, but not america, rest of europe or Australia where he was very popular, read his book :A question of Weight , its a weight loss book , but he also says a bit about his career & that even though his 70's big man in kaftan image was cool in europe & australia , not in USA
Hi I'm from Sydney Australia & I own the vynil LP & 45 of this track , bless you for supplying the extended mix which i suspect is rare(promo only),this track is the finest in the eurodisco tradition (even though recorded in USA)
A rare disco track...great strings, corus is perfect, great hook and the song builds up beautifully from 4:00 and on...PERFECT 10 of a disco track if there ever was one!!
Great to hear this forgotten disco track again. I saw him do this on a French variety show back in 1978. I have never heard the full length version. Thanks for the posting.

You sad everything about Roussos. He is "THE SINGER".
And he still sings & make shows.
