I tore my ACL too coz of TKD. i was just tryna do a simple kick (not even nadabon) i just fell n i heard my knee pop. it took awhile for me to get up. i shouldnt have been practicing coz b4 that happend i did a nadabon n landed wrong n heard my ankle cracked. my friend told me to jst sit but i insisted to still practice. my knee was swollen for weeks but still trained after 3weeks rest and with a torn ACL. i still pass my belt test before surgery. i'm 6months post-op and stretching the bad leg
I popped mine landing a jump kick too. It doesn't hurt much when it pops, but then your knee collapses and that hurts like hell for a couple minutes. I did the same thing this guy did too. I thought I was ok but the first sideways step I took it collapsed again. I'm 3 months out of surgery and had to have a second procedure because of an infection...but sofar so good. I'll keep training but I guess some people weren't meant to do jump kicks.
@DowntownPaulyP almost 3 months now since my second ACL tear operation... wouldn't wanna go through it again. I bet you're very self concious about your knee, just like i am.
I just snapped my ACL 3 weeks ago. Fully snapped, MRI confirmed! I think i was lucky as i didn't experience that much pain other than a dull ache that slowly got worse but nothing major. I tried to ski off but it did hurt when i put weight on it so got recovered, Was the right thing as it saved any other damaged now i have found out. Going in for reconstruction in 2 days using pattela graft from my own leg. You can see how i did it on my youtube page. Simply skiing in straight line & hit a bump!
Yeah... ACL tears are not fun. I have a partial tear in my left knee from playing soccer last may. I was running after a forward with the ball and I planted my foot and tried to get around him and twisted with my knee when my foot was planted. Herd a pop.. went down.. hurt like a mother. I was fine for a few hours able to walk then it swelled up. I ended up tearing my calf muscle as well. I haven't had surgery since it's a partial tear... I have some instability but I'm playing soccer again.
hi i tore my acl 2 years ago and just had the reconstruction. Ive been advised to use crutches for 2 months and do no full weight bearing...but after 3 weeks im already walking and jogging. Hope that encourages peope to get it done
heyy every1 my name is diego , i broke my acl and i got it replaced for the one of a dead body , this happend like 15 months ago but the problem is that sometimes i fell perfect and when im playng sports for example soccer i kick the ball and i put like presure in it i hear a crack and it hurts like fuck my knee gets really fat and then i have to whait like 5 days to play sports again, does this happens to any1 else??? please help? btw sorry for my miss spelling english is noy my first lenguage.
soory pal, your acl is broken again, and the crack you always hear is your meniscus. Maybe its broken too. I recommend you a MRI, the soon as possible.
@55202868 first off al you dont break it, or replace it from dead bodies? i TORE my acl and got a diff tendon from MY OWN ALIVE body. so idk wtf your talking about.
@ridesnow912 i now you turn it and i sade that cause english is my second lenguange and look you fucking idiot just because u got a shity curgery is not my faul there are clearly allot of different was of fixing it one way is the one i was talking abaut another one the one you where talking about and there are more before they use to put plastic ligaments unstead and just to let you know u dont always need curgery so shut the fuck up if you dont know what you are talking about
@ridesnow912 wow clearly you are an idiot, since you dont belive me il send you a fucking part of a medical website... if you dont belive me simply google it or ask your shitty doctor...
Cadaver Grafts
Cadaver grafts, or allograft, is the most common type of graft used when an initial ACL reconstruction
yeah this guy didnt tear shit, you would have heard a big ass pop and you dont get up so fast, my dumb ass got up and try to jog it off and it collapsed, had my surgery aboot two weeks ago finally able to limp without my crutches, getting my brace this week, any one who wants to know about your surgery, one thing, get ready for the fucking pain.
I tore mine completely too in a grappling tournament. And I partially tore my MCL and meniscus at the same time. But I didn't quit fighting.
Oh and I called you a pussy, not Jason Chambers. Chambers is a professional MMA fighter. It's possible that he is tough enough to keep fighting after he tears a ligament, rather than curling up into a ball and screaming like a little bitch.
And no, you wouldn't have heard a pop. The microphone wasn't close enough to his knee.
Hahaha now I feel bad because I am picking on a kid. Dude one day you are gonna have a rude awakening when you realize that your bench max by no means reflects how tough you are. You should probably take a jiu jitsu class so you can get your ass kicked a few times and learn a few things before you pick a fight w/ the wrong guy and really get hurt.
Hopefully someday you will realize that football skills have nothing to do w/ being tough. Best of luck to you man. Hopefully you don't have to get your ass kicked to learn your lesson.
yea, without prior knowledge you wuldn't have known better. Whereas I on the other hand, 5 weeks from my second ACL reconstruction on the other leg was cringing when i watched you carry on.
I don't think you were stupid. Sometimes when you injure yourself, you think (at the moment) it is minor and do not realize the magnitude of the injury. It is easy for the "peanut gallery" to say "stupid." Hindsight is 20-20. Hope your ACL healed up nicely after treatment with a full recovery.
he went on cuz most ppl dont know what an acl injury is til after suffering 1 and learning about all th epivot shiftin torq twist rotations etc etc, most ppl just think at th etime they jarred or knocked ther knnee until they then get up and try and carry on but dont relise theris no logger a ligiment support and stableizing theknee joint anymmore , unles suve had one of these injurys , most ppl aint got a clue when u tell them about the symptomns or why u cant play this or that etc etc.
Wow. brain over brawn is the phrase to describe this situation. i completely believe you are an IDIOT for doing what you did after you tore your acl. Sometimes, you just have to be realistic w/ yourself and not try to be the tough guy 24/7. you just probably added an extra month w/ that.

So it was confirmed that this was a torn ACL?
How well did Jason Chambers recover? What is he doing now?

Cadaver graft might be used for meniscus, but they used a hammy for my ACL...

when i tore my acl it honestly didnt hurt that bad
xXxClanFilms 6 months ago
You can get a cadaver graft but only if it's fresh.
I tore my acl got a hammy graft coming into the 5th month, only a few to go. It's a hard slog but just gotta push through it.

O ye and i heard and felt the accompanying POP. That was worse than any of the pain. That pop puts the shi#s up you!
Ive been told recovery is good and can be 100% if you do your physio correctly and to the letter. We will see how i handle it after Mondays opp! :-O
