  • WHY ISN'T "IN ROCK" A HUGE HIT IN AMERICA? It's the most important hard rock / metal album EVER.

  • @XanaduMountain This question always puzzled me. Speculation, maybe marketing in USA in 69/70 wasn't heavy. I did crazy things in Germany and other European countries. My all times favored album.

  • ritchie and jon...no words to describe these two legends...

  • Ritchie= ICONIC!

  • Jon Lord is definitly the most imaginative keyboard player I've ever seen, same goes for Ritchie and because of that I feel like there were never any two gigs that sounded anything alike, praise the Lord.

  • Blackmore + Strat = Ultimate combination of sound, artistry, creativity and energy! Noone could ever touch Blackmore´s Strat sound IMO!!! This incredible audio...I love it!!! Just think about todays musicians...what if someone had walked out on a stage and played something as explosive as this today...people would have just wonderd what just hit them in the face and other guitarplayers would´ve pissed their pants and walked away with the tale between their legs.

  • @MB280E Totally agree.

The band all are in great shape, Jon with KB and Ian on the drums and big Ian on congo , Roger basing along it simply hypnotic.

Ritchie , well you already mentioned his magic.

  • @Dimagg1973 Thanks man! And thanks for posting this version, I totally love it!!! You just gotta love Blackmore when he gets crazy with the tremoloarm and the sound´s vibrating like there´s no tomorrow. :)

  • From which show is this? You very creatively mixed several footage from Bilzen and 1970 together but its not totally synced.Anyway, very enjoyable.

  • @purpelaar

Deep Purple live at the Casino, Montreux, October 4th 1969.

Nobody now recalls why the decision was taken to record this gig. Most likely, the group and managers wanted to capture a headlining show to evaluate a full performance and see how well the new line-up was working in a live context.

A quarter inch reel was plugged into the mixing desk, and was fed directly from the live sound and mixed on the fly. This is the tape used for this release. No further mixing was possible

  • A lot of bootleg from Deep Purple are very bad audience sound. Happy to hear that is not always the case.

  • I like Jon Lord playing beetles, In my view this preference is the best mandrake root live gig they ever did.

  • Mandrake Root is a machine of sounds, the best performance for Ritchie and Jon ,lol awesome.

  • Fantastic!!
