  • Awesome video! The only critique I have is that you mentioned push-ups as being open chain kinetic movements. However, I don't think that is correct. Open chain kinetic movements allow for free movement of the limbs with or without the bearing of weight. While performing a push-up, ones hands are in a fixed position. Therefore, push-ups are closed chain kinetic movements. A chest press with dumb bells or a barbell would be an example of a chest exercise which is an open chain kinetic movement.

  • Thanks and I can relate to the way you do the push ups. I do mine knees off the floor all the time and feel the strength in my arms and shoulders - sure fire way of toning. Next video I would like to see is how to work your abs to make them tight. See you on your next awesome video and keep us training.

  • After I've done a set of bicep curls Instead of resting I do as much press ups as I can, then go back to my bicep curls, it makes my workout a lot more intense, do you think this is a good idea?

  • ive been lifting weights for a few weeks and i do see major improvement. like im starting to gain muscle mass in my arms but im starting to get cut too. but lately after lifting a bit, it seems like my bones are starting to hurt about the middle of my forearm both pains are on the side facing towards each other. when i press in on it..it hurts kind of like on the outside of the bone. i wonder what this could be a sign of? i would go ask doc but ya know how it it man. any advice? i subbed ya!!

  • @OmarIsuf thanx for the reply!! i checked out the bursitis and that sort of seems like what it could be. although the pain's in my forearm not my wrist the description seemed accurate enough. i think what i'll do is lighter weights. it's just that when i i take some weights off, my body doesn't like it and starts craving heavier weights. weird? i dont know. i'm still new to this so i guess i just gotta keep at it. no pain no gain right?

    You can gas from just doing your reps close together jumping from say sit ups to push ups.

  • I was told that after a workout the muscles you trained need 5-7 days to recuperate. Is this true? Also how many sets should I do if I solely want to do push-ups and how long should I rest between sets? I can do about 30 good push-ups.

  • @ambidexterity1 No is it eck. Do you really think you're going to gain any muscle size if you train each muscles 4 times a month? It needs 1-2 days, but if you feel any pain the next day when you're about to start your workout I suggest taking another day off.

  • I do pushups on my fists instead on my palms palms... This is because my right wrist hurts like hell when I do them on my palms (like a needle piercing my wrist). In addition, when I do them on fists I can lower myself a little lower allowing for more stretch in the chest area.

  • @MerchwithDan i dont do push ups like this be its bad for your wrist use dumbbells its harder but it will save your wrist. It could be that you joints arent use to this form so just take it easy and learn joint strengthening and stretch. ive been working out since i was 11 when is started i could barley do 10 push ups not im benching 300 (5 months ago i was doing 130) also read and eat right i cant stress how important eating right is im not perfect but im only 18 also Always Be Increasing

  • .great video. I can only manage the incorrect 'elbows out' method with shoulders aligned with feet and back level. If I keep my knees on the floor can I build fluency with tucking my hands beneath shoulders and elbows at the sides?

  • When you say "do push ups frequently"... what if you have done a heavey chest workout and have muscle pain/DOMS, basically your chest is in the process of repair.... would it be a good idea to then put tension and work that muscle through frequent push ups?

  • @BrockOutTV Not excessive push ups, but understand that since push ups should be easy, and it`ll actually promote blood flow to the area which is helpful for DOMS, after a heavy chest day, I would do a couple sets to actively recover that area+ promote proper motor patterns for your chest (it`ll assist your bench about 1%, which is still important lol)

  • @TheAshleyHawken better to eat food like nuts, and olive oil which contain fat but its natural and yes eating more will help to.. depending on if ur slinny if yes then eat more foods if not then work on cadio a little evan if that means a small walk everyday so u burn fat but mostly u wanna have show muscles so do push ups, bench presses squats which also help your core! and dumbbell workouts

  • @TheAshleyHawken i am 15 and i achieved a good body ( not so awesome not so bad ) in less than one year, i did a lot of push ups, more than 200 but i started instantly doing too much, while you should start by doing 10-15 push ups if you can, stick to it for a week then move on to 20-25 and so on, 20 is already good enough. if you can do more than 30 you will see fast results, but you MUST do variations, such as hindu pushups and divebomber,just look on youtube pushups variation and mix em up :D

  • @27jelo27 Theres no "better" depends on what you want. For strength + size, the bench press you can keep adding weight safely so I prefer it.

  • I have been doing workouts for over 25 years or close to it. Still learn some thing new every time you watch others. Well doing pushups or any routine everyday is a bad habbit. Kill it the day you do any part of the body. Next day either relax or do other part. Alwasy drink shake or milk right after your workouts.

  • This is only half true for total beginners. Because doing push-ups again and again causes overtraining, and your muscles can't rest, which makes your muscles faint!

    Muscles have 4 differents caracteristic : flexibility, strength, power, endurance.

    The way you do it, helps the power and a little bit of strength. If you really wanna work the strength, do it with a paste. go down in 2-3 seconds, stay down 1 second and then up 2-3 seconds. This is a real way to workout strength. If you want more info, PM me.

  • tricep pressing power. soo true, specially on overhead pressed and bench press, i find that when i warm up my triceps with close grip pushups, opposed to warming up my chests, then i feel stronger at the bench press and the weight feels A LOT more stable.
