They haven't listened to anyone in the past and, at the recent G20 in Pgh., Iran's leader announced a NEW Nuclear Facility! Like Obama said in the campaign about something else, "Just words, ...just speeches." :-/ Teddy Roosevelt famously said, "Speek softly, but carry a big stick." No, I'm not a gun nut, but you just have to know how & when to use them. We are broke though.

I think you are obsessed with putting Obama down. I'm sure that diplomacy would be his first course of action even if we had the money for a war. Whereas McCain wanted to blow up that N Korean freighter that was supposedly carrying WMDs. Which would have started a war. Thank God he wasn't voted in. Diplomacy should always be the first course of action unless we are struck first. It's not only the right thing to do, but the responsible thing. You can't start swining away then ask questions later.

Yeah, in my last post, I was using Obama's statement to prove Roosevelt's. The "speek softly" (Diplomacy) is before "carry a big stick," & we are past the diplomacy part already. That's what we did in the past w/ them (Bush & Clinton days?). They have not responded, so now we need to close the facilities ourselves (or physically force them too). You said WMDs? I don't think McCain would've been so swift b/c of response to the WMD intel. given to Bush. Me Must act 1st, NOT another 9/11/01.

No, True Conservative Republicans aren't in favor of Medicare & Social Security the way it is. No the Government shouldn't pay for everyone's healthcare neither old, nor poor. Social Security was supposed to just be an investment to make people pay into the system, then take "What They Paid" back out.

People need affordable healthcare, Social Security, Welfare, Medicare and State run Health care is a necessity. People are not all well off, middle class and white. People have difficulties in lie that you and I cannot imagine. Giving to the poor and making sure that a handout is available when needed should be a standard. You're getting warmer. Again, Social Security wasnot supposed to be subsidized by taxes, it was supposed to be separate. Medicare was supposed to be just enough to keep someone in good health (out of a job or disabled), not live off-of permanently. Insurance (Private-based) was supposed to be the "beef" of healthcare. The state blockages prevent competition there, so, people that can't afford it have to stay on Gov. Medicare. See? The Gov. just want us to pay them, not real solutions.
