hi i spent 24 years going through a illness and i never believed the pharmacutical industry was there to help me not with the money i it. i have came off all my medications as im also cured and why are people not waking up to this scam? the mind can only take so much pressure before it breaks and when it does the truth is felt as you begin learning from been discriminated and another thing is this industry is owed by shareholders like the banks so wake up.

If you knew how much it costs to market a new drug, you would have not said such a thing!

In some countries in Europe, including Great Britain, pharmaceutical companies are not allowed to advertise any prescription-medicines, and can only advertise over-the-counter medicines!

In States, however, many prescrption-medicines can be advertised to the general public and this benefits the patients, as newer medicines may have greater therapeutic effectiveness and less adverse effects!

Yes in my country they are not allowed to advertise directly, but indirectly through GPs, Doctors, Nurses, NHS etc they are, i have no problem with that as long as the medicine is cost effective and has minimal side effects preferably one that wont kill you. Why do you defend these privately owned companies?

Well, my friend, most drugs on the market, including antimalarial drugs, are affordable.

But unfortunately, anticancer drugs (chemotherapy) are usually not affordable; this is partly due to difficulty in developing and synthesis of anticancer drugs due to complex nature of tumours!

Also...a small sample of an Antibody, for example, costs > $500, and research doctors have to spend years in the laboratory and most of the times, the outcome is unsuccessful!

Codex Alimentarius really relates to food safety and relates issues. It will need adjustment to include neutraceuticals as they develop - foods with active pharmaceutical - like ingredients.

The pharmaceutical industry will soon fail since they are running out of things to invent. Epigenetics and the new energy medicine will replace it at a fraction of the cost. Because of the internet, new low cost solutions to old problems that don't require pharmaceuticals, are now available. For example check out MMS Clo2.

Thanks. Well 75% of total health care spending is on those over 65 years old - and probably a similar proportion of drug treatment costs.
