@Wing2000Man Well it can be the difficulty and the range, If your farther away then you can get a kill because snipers made for long range if your at meium you can get 1 hit kills but its rare and if your kind close it can taake up to 3-4 shots because the bullet will not reach the velocity.

@xpress77x I really have trouble telling the bullet drop from over 300 meters on the SV98. The bullet is so humongous I can't even see where it hits. On the M98B and L96 I can actually see where the bullet goes.

@orion2094 depending on your position, one line in the ballistic scope is approximately 300-350 meters. It will vary depending on your vertical altitude, the opponents altitude and any objects that may be in the bullet path. Best thing to do is to always fire a zero shot at your hot zone and get an idea. Also, remember that certain maps work better with certain attachments, go unsuppressed for Kharg Firestorm, and Caspian. Metro, Damavand and other small ones go silenced.

@c2fan22 l96 & m98b have the highest bullet velocities out of all sniper rifles. basicly with these two rifles the bullet will travel faster to the target making it seem better. m98b has highest, l96 comes in second.

Anyone else UNFUCKINGABLE to kill people with this gun? Since yesterday I have had about 150+ headshots between 30 and 500 meters (ish) and it never kills people!! Neither does the m40. I see blood come out of their head and I get a hitmarker but not a single kill. An internet issue? or server issue? Its driving me mad. Bolt actions no longer kill when I hit centre mass.... never.

@tantorecords it seems very strange, i have to admit. Are you always playing on the same server? It *could* be a server setting, since it's the most logical conclusion I can think of. If you've never had a problem with any other FPS game, it should stand to reason the problem is not on your end. Perhaps you could try googling the problem and see whether fellow BF3 players have this problem

in real life the sv98 is made specificly for law enforcment it has a supressor ,made for 600 meter shots alot of pple underestimate 7.62-54r it drops 3 more inches in a 1000 yards then a .308 win but has almost twice the hitting power
