@chavochavo22 I was basically in the same 19-and-ignorant boat with you on that one. I knew "Hurricane" and thought of Dylan as an example of not needing musical prowess or amazing singing ability to be a successful musician, then my folk friends told me to "just listen." Changed my life.
Amazing documentary! I loved it so much I didn't want it to end. You're totally right when you say this is an "insanely underrated" documentary. I recommend this movie to anyone interested in Bob Dylan or in the 60's culture in general (you won't be disappointed).
I saw Bob Dylan & The Band live in Chicago in his first tour after his motorcycle accident. Too marvelous to describe. This documentary is a gem. Bob Dylan wrote the words which helped inspire the social change activism of the 60's. He wanted to be a writer; he didn't want to be a "rally spokesman." That was fine with all of us; he did his part in his own way, and we did ours. Together, at least some positive changes were made. PEACE & LOVE TO ALL.
Hey does this movie include the press conference in San Francisco in 1965? Just wondering cause I'm getting it tonight and it would be awesome if that was included. If you know?
Embarrassed to admit that I never realized until this movie what a genius he is and the influence on the American psyche. Never cared about Bob until this movie, now he's one of my all-time favorites. It is no waste of breath to call him a genius, or visionary, even if it does make him uncomfortable. He said what many others were thinking but didn't have the cojones to admit it. I really missed out by being born in '69
@jotacalvo I first time I saw this movie was when it was just released and they were playing it on PBS. Anyways, like you I had really no idea who Bob Dylan was or why he was big. Well that was about to change, and fast. He soon became my favorite artist and he still is years later. Your right, we really missed out. Luckily amazing live footage like the movie shows still exists.

It happens for two seconds...but what is the song at :39. I don't want to say Ballad of A Thin Man but that's my best guess.
Grif2112 10 months ago
@Grif2112 You're correct, it is Ballad of a Thin Man.

If there is some divine thing or being, you can find it in Dylan's music.

@jotacalvo I was born in '90. Just try to imagine how much I hate that for the reason of not being able to see Dylan around this time alone. TRY.

@jotacalvo I have never been a fan or known much about Bob Dylan, only because I never really heard his music etc except for the Hurricane.
Just last week someone told me about this documentary & how good it is,only because I was getting When you're strange, the Doors documentary.
I'm a huge Doors/Jim Morrison fan so I'm thinking I may be in the same boat as you were in before watching this doco.
I'm fairly young,32,from Australia,so we don't get much Dylan airplay here.
Thanks for your thoughts.
