@niceonemicky Yo so wrong dude. Tim Hardin wrote this...he wrote it and sang it best with the most conviction truth and heart. as only the writer could.

Agree that his Woodstock performace was worthy insomuch that he was totally fucked up throughout the day!!!
Funny that he probably blew his career for good that day by being unable to open the concert but his nighttime performance was very possibly his last great stand in indicating his talent and what he could have achieved
i miss the woodstock performance also. some people loathed it because of his condition, but i found it to be incredibly riveting and exceptional performance by tim hardin. it should be part of you tube chronicles of his performances.
@reeblite It's a shame that performance could be loathed for precisely what makes it so heartbreaking, aside from the tune itself, obviously. It's the even-more-than-usual plaintivness ache of his vocal--as well as knowing how near he was to the end--which makes the Woodstock version at once both majesterial and tragic.
The cover versions are far more convincing, this sounds twee.

What happened to the version from Woodstock? Was it banned? It was an outstanding performance at Max's farm.
