hey mate when you see the red line on the timeline if you press cmd+R it renders it and then allows you to hear the sound in the timeline it only takes a couple of seconds depending on the size of the piece you have cut and put in too the video hope this helps mate other that good video :).

@briandawkings I think I've done that with Final Cut Pro, but never with Express. Try some of the log and capture options with your camera plugged in

What Significance is the red line above your clip. I get it too, except when I play it on the timeline, it says "Unrendered" in the canvass. It's really gay. Frustrating

I appreciate your effort but your 'errs' and 'umms' kept putting me off. Not to mention everything you've shown could all be summed up in 2minutes and with less talking..

And some tips for you: For someone who enjoys or practices film editing. Surely you would edit your narration through out it, making it more fluid. And also edit your screen recorded footage to minimise unnecessary footage.

You could also plan out the video, because it seems like you've just done it on the fly. :)

i have a big problem with fce. I was just editing a video until i was uanble to modify

the contrast and lightning. I got to effects to fix the color lightning and contrast but when i worked with it. nothing happened. i could fix the speed and cut the clips etc

but nothing was happening when i tried to make the clip more dark. I also tried to

restart final cut but it was th same when i started it again, sorry for my bad english, please help

@jmont2608 they both offer the same general functions, but Final Cut Pro offers some more professional functions that Express lacks. For basic editing, get Express. For editing on a more professional level, get Pro. Go to Google for a further list of the differences.

When i try to bring in a photo that has been cut out in photoshop (not rectangular in shape) so it pretty much has a transparant background, it comes in with a white background. Is there any way to get it with the transparancies?

@burganoo Yes use PhotoBooth to record a video and then bring that video into Final Cut. Capture means capturing from your camcorder
