Life was so much different back then, and just listening to my father, I would never profess to know what the mind set had to have been like, for someone like "Frank", being a boy in the 1940's. and a young man in the 50's and 60's. We tend to judge people based on what we see around us today. And the opportunities we have, oppose to someone like "Frank", or my pop, who never saw anything but brutality, and despair. You have no idea how much homework was done. My father beared witness to most of it, and thought it was pretty accurate!

WHen the studio got sued by the cops they admitted it was only "based on Frank Lucas life" and was not a documentary so it wasn't exact.

But it was much more to it than dope, and a story that needed to be told. And "Frank" did once say, if anyone ever died from my dope, I am sorry about that. He also encouraged young people not to go out and try to be him. This is a different world, use your resources, go to school..
