  • Divertente!Bravo!!!

  • I really do not care about my "rights" , but look at the video where Jonathan is conducting Beethoven's fifth , and you will clearly understand why Beethoven is Beethoven and why this polka is shit . Don't listen the music , just look at the boy .

  • We have here clearly different views about. But that is your right

  • Music is no democracy . You can have millions of people listening shit , and ten , or perhaps eleven, listening Mahler or Schumann .

  • Nenhum músico olha para ele Devem estar fulos. Ganhar a vida, por vezes, é muito duro !!!!

  • give him better music than this shit , please

  • @GA4N Why is this' shit'? Andre Rieu sells tens of millions music CDs with this kind of stuff and receives in the whole world stadiums full of tens of thousands. Just because the music is not your kind, it is still not "shit". I also listen personally prefer to go to other composers than Strauss, but I am certainly not called this "shit ”.

  • GO JONATHAN! So jealous at his young talent!

  • I`,m sorry, i`m stupid. It`s great. His parents are fortunate to have such a son))

  • why did they need the little jerk to conduct the orchestra??

  • (suite)

  • Not that i'm not saying how good this is for him, but none of them aside from the short grey haired woman are taking his lead and he is reacting to the music, rather than it reacting to him... Just saying.

  • And he is not asian ???

  • I love this, it always brightens my day!

  • Ok, none of the musicians are looking at him, which tells me that his local orchestras use him as a cute gimmick; you'll notice his lead is a second behind the actual orchestra. He's also a violinist with impressive motor skills many three year-olds have if they are primed with the proper conditioning. And HOW many videos of him are up here?! I swear, some people only have kids so they can impress people with them.

  • @NikiAndre1 I assume that you have never been in an orchestra played. A musician must read the notes which he must play. But he also sees the conductor. It works as follows. When you go to your TV look, you see not only the TV but also a part of the room. This is also the musician not only the notes which he must play but also how the conductor this explain. Each conductor has its own musical interpretation of the work that he plays.

  • @NikiAndre1 You'll notice, if you look carefully, that each musician that's visible here flicks glances to him on occasion throughout the piece, which is how it's meant to work. And every single pair of eyes was on him for the concluding bars. I think he did a fine job. He will be an incredible conductor when he grows up :)

  • @NikiAndre1 Conductors don't do anything. Their job it to make the music how they feel the music should be. The more professional you get the more the conductor is just conducting phrases not time. And so what if it's a cute gimmick? The kid is 4 he doesn't know any different.

  • Very good

  • are we seeing a new mozart ?a Definci of musick ?

o the flowers are biger then him :) way to go and keep that love in your hart littel amazing Jonathan

  • thats silly

  • Sehr Mutig

  • i love how he feels every bit of the music the whole way through. what a talent.

  • He's great. Now I know enjoyment does matter!

  • One year ago, than he was conducting in his room and laughing after the final, I said he must conduct the real orchestra. So He made it!!!! BRAVO!!!

  • How about all these presents ^^

  • amazing conducting technique! This kid will one day lead the New York Philharmonic

  • @SUNSNARE06 One day he's gonna conduct the vienna philharmonic's New Year's Concert.… So young :D… I wonder how one can manage something like this^^. At age of three he has reached more than so many other people in this world that are 30 years older than him^^. It's fenomenal, isn't it?

  • This brought tears to my eyes. I've followed your videos for a long time. Please keep us updated as ywe watch your wonderfully talented boy's journey.

  • Holy cow! Awesome Jonathan. I want to play under your conducting! Wow. :)

  • Explelliarmus!!

  • I really hope people don't try to suck the fun out of conducting for him!!!! I personally think he looks like he is having more fun in his other videos. also i just wanted to say THIS KID IS SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!:D

  • I just met this champ yesterday after my violin lesson at WSU. When I told him his videos were amazing he said "thank you" really shyly.

  • I can see him conduct hte music but i cannot see him conduct the people and their instruments. He has got to learn a lot.

  • Jonathon!! I would be totally honored to play a piece of music under YOUR conducting!! You are amazing! Keep that brave courage with you!!

  • Like I stated on his other video. As a college student and violinist, I would be honored to play a piece under his conducting!!! His is amazing and just shocking to watch!!!

  • Amazing! The people who disliked it must be some jealous, adult conductors who don't have the skill that he does.

  • 10 people are bad conductors watching this

  • It's funny cause he's better than my conductor

  • Comment removed

  • What a talented - and adorable - little boy! Bravo to him for a great performance, and bravo to his parents for encouraging him to reach for the stars and pursue something he obviously loves.

  • genius! past life quite possible..The other option he learned ho to conduct in his nappies! Now for a child the pre frontal cortex and associated NLP neuron system are not established and still in a steep curve of learning. Genetic memory a theory non proven does not explain how such small kids have such a skill! Skill implies learning and repetition, to mastery level requires as Socrates sated , " We are what we repeatedly do , excellent therefore is not an act but a habit'. Past Life could be

  • genius!

  • I'm not sure if he really knows what he is doing or if he just knows the music and trained the gestures. I don't doubth that he know music, some kids from his age do know but it's very different to know music and conduct an orchestra. It doesn't look very maestro-like and sometimes the gestures happen after time as if he was following the orchestra and not the opposite.

  • @sdist I think you focus too much on gestures, training. My dad, a professeur at Paris Conservetoire for 15 yrs, teared up while laughing after watching Johnathan's Symp.5. The boy loves music and music loves him. His ability of putting his whole into music alone worth more than any technique one could take up from trainings. He's a PRODIGY, while other kids who are "maestro-like", "know music" are WELL-EDUCATED TALENTS. So what if he doesn't know music (he's 4!), he's a part of music itself.

  • Some of the musicians don't seem too happy about having to be subject to a toddler.

  • Amazing

  • I teach music to 4 year olds and Jonathan's videos have inspired me to continue to encourage total body stir in my music lessons when responding to music they hear.

  • At this age, I didn't have the motor coordination to tie my own shoes. Holy cow.

XD

  • ein Stardirigent waechst heran.... Klasse!

  • I can't help seeing this as an evidence of the existence of past lifes...

  • I love this little guy. Always there to remind me of what's important with music - have fun, and do it for the pure love of it! Please keep going, Jonathan, please do. One day, I want to play under your conducting.

  • i adore him!!

  • inspirational to watch

  • Reincarnation explains.

  • A 4 year old boy cunducting?!?!?!? INCREBIDLE!!!!! He must had alot of trainning.

  • @Tablerockg

No training, this is all purely him. He just delights in conducting.

  • Incredible. I bet he can sight read better than me lol.

  • Maravilhoso, sensacional! Parabéns!

Talento, precocidade e muito dom de Deus.

    Sucesso!

  • Maravilhoso, sensacional! Parabéns!

  • By the way, people, he's 4 years old. Anybody with a negative comment about him needs to think back to their own abilities at 4, and see if you were able to conduct anything at all, much less remember how to sing your ABCs. It doesn't matter if he is conducting "pop" pieces. He's conducting, and he is gifted. How many of you knew the pieces he is conducting when you were 4 to this extent?

  • Talented, and to beat all, adorable!

  • His brain works fast

  • When I saw the other video of him doing air baton to Beethoven's Fifth, I just thought that was some youngster having some fun.

Now here he is at four years old and conducting WITHOUT A SCORE!!!!

Another Gustavo Dudamel (he's not thirty) in the making!

  • This is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. What a delight. Thanks to @esenuk for posting this great video.

  • GUNIUS BOY ,awesome :)

  • maybe have Asperger syndrom or an often "gunius sick " of him .

  • Bravo! Bravo!

    Encore!!!!

  • Nice Tux :P

  • Jonathan...Excellent job!!!! Note to the next Concert Master and Symphony Conductor..; rehearse piece at slightly increased tempo and perform the same. Let Jonathan Interpret the piece, but the the players must keep the tempo! At Jonathan's age his mind, sight, hand coordination is not fully developed, BUT, he has an amazing talent to interpret as he conducts within a piece of music, follow his dynamics, you'll be amazed at what he will do! Maestro THJames,

  • Wow

  • I meant he does NOT look as .............

  • Jonathan does look as spontaneous or lively as he was in the living episode of Beethove's symphony. I had enjoyed that clip immensely. You could see the sparkle of joy in his eyes, even though that was a serious piece of music. He lost much of the joy n spontaneity in his performance this time.

  • the ending pose was fabulous!

  • so cute.. he is very professional... congratulations!!!!

  • Anyone who's ever played in an orchestra knows that the musicians are not actually following him. The tempo of this polka stays so steady that a decent group of musicians could play it without a conductor. This is cute, but that's all. I'm not saying this kid isn't going somewhere someday, but don't let this video fool you.

  • @Calinoma

I am so thrilled with your comment. You are the fourth voice of reason "in this unreasonably thrilled choir".

Looks like we are forming an extremally rare phenomenon of our days - a choir of reasonable professionals.

  • @Calinoma That's true enough; this is, of course, a "fluff" or pop piece.

Just the same, Jonathan has more than the very basic knowledge of what he's doing; he can certainly follow the piece without a score, for example.

  • the handful of us that have been watching him from video 1 are going to see him grow immensely in further years

  • He must be Russian ??? Russians love music ...

  • @zeadsalma youre thinking german

  • is this even possible.. wow! I'm impressed!!

  • First congratulations!! Its a wonderful child! but plese be carefull with too much response for a kid... I´m sure Jonathan has excelent parents, and you don´t make pression, I think, but perhaps it turns like a pression for him, because it´s too much response and expose... i´m sorry about my terrible english, i hope i´m making myself possible to understand ;) understand cheers, all my bests!

  • Jonathan is an inspiration !

  • This will go viral, I promise you, I call it. Oh My goodness.

  • I promise you this will go viral OMGOSH! this is amazing

  • @zandercamps will you repeat it on all of his vids?

  • @Phughy no.

  • Hahaha! notice he conduct without the score! He probably can't read notes very well yet! What a genius!

  • @karolfranzjosef Yeah, and Toscanini never used a score, either.

  • I love Jonathon! he's amazing!

  • Under the best scenario, Jonathan would become an prominent conductor with his own conducting niche (i.e., strictly the rendition side). That alone would be a good mark for American classical music in modern days. There will never be composers of gigantic stature like Beethoven or Mozart when classical music was at its golden age, was everywhere and was the only form of musical expression. The world musical environment has evolved, it no longer nurtures classical musical creation.

  • @McFlury9687 Sorry you didn't quite understand my remark. Please read it again. You might see then, that I am all for the best development of Jonathan. By the way, I'm a conductor myself and know what is involved! Have a nice day.

  • @simcaheled i dont doupt that you know what ur talking about, but dont ruin the sprirt of the video by pointing out the negatives, everyone can see those clear as crystal.

  • @McFlury9687 You say: "Don't ruin the spirit of the video...." I apologize to the 'spirit of the video'...Should I be beaten for just caring for Jonathan?. Please read my 'horrible' letter again - it was meant to protect talented Jonathan from being pushed too early to something he can't even understand at this point.

  • @simcaheled It seemed to me that he was conducting just fine. Of course he doesn't need to inflect the music like most conductors at that stage usually do. Im pretty sure people tried doing exactly what you 'think' your doing with mozart whe he wrote his first symphony. Or prokofiev when he was playing the piano at age 5. Im aware that he is going to fast. But some people are like that, others aren't. If you care so much about him, leave him be, and let his mentor lead him.

  • @McFlury9687 This is the last time I try to write to you my dear. It was my mistake, being an old musician and conductor, to react to Jonathan's conducting. We are obviously not on the same level of understanding music ( "He was conducting just fine"), and you don't seem to be willing to understand my good intentions. I hope history will prove I was wrong, and Jonathan will be the next Mozart. Best regards, Simca

  • @simcaheled Hi simcaheled...Just wanted you to know someone understood your good intentions for Jonathan. I'm not competent to judge your comment as right or wrong, but know you meant nothing but the best for the child and his parents. Appreciate all you have learned and done for music as you clearly have dedicated much of your life to it. Thank you.

  • @simcaheled and besides, learning at a young age like him is better then him learning at age 20.

  • he's adorable but I must say I enjoyed the living room video much more. I hoped he would stumble down and laugh madly at the end of this one too, too bad he didn't.

  • I follow Jonathan "from an early age" but this clip is really too much for him at this stage. Actually he is not doing anything which contributes to the music - just a cute doll trying to follow the music. Must give credit to the orchestra members who succeeded to play together in spite of Jonathan's gestures. I think his parents are pushing him too far too soon.

    Simca

  • @simcaheled it's not about if he can handle it. for conducter's it's very very good to have a lot of practice with the real thing. He'll figure out soon enough that what he's doing is not actually helping much (yet!) I mean he's just a kid. There are several stages of mental development to go. (even with a lot of talent)

I wonder though, does he have a conducting teacher? How would that go, as I cannot think of anyone teaching a young kid conducting. sounds interesting though.

  • dont ever cut your hair jonathan

  • really really good for the age, wow haha. I hope he keeps his enthusiasm for classical music

  • He is only 4 years old and is conducting better than many adults who studied conducting at college. I saw 4 dislike and I am wondering what is wrong with those people. They don't realise that this 4 years old child is not supposed to do all this dinamic and rythm so correctly, but he does. He does it perfectly! This boy is a genius! Thanks por posting, @esenuk. I am very touched and look forward for another video with him.

  • I hope all these concerts will not destroy this young talent. Conducting by ear is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. I wish his parents were a bit more patient

  • In basic conducting class at Interlochen, we never learned THAT! just learned the mechanics

  • he must be like- "look at them... they obey my every command!"

  • Badass he's three and I have to be twenty three to do that and I have even asked

  • Before I have never paid much attention to a conductor's rhythm or style. But now having been watching Jonathan, I have started to "scrutinize" conductors' style. Why? Can some one explain?

  • encantador

  • Back for a fix.

    Love Jonathan!

Hope he conducts this orchestra more and more. if I lived nearby I'd go in a heartbeat.

  • I AM JUST FLOORED!!! SO ADORABLE, PROFESSIONAL, CONFIDENT AND CHILDLIKE. A LIVING DOLL!!!!

    barbara/nyc

  • This is impressive and kind of disgusting, simultaneously. Deem, this is the most common normal reaction from usual people. All others delights and loud words are comprehensible, but not relevant & sincere enough.

  • It took me 19 years before I actually stood in front of an 18 piece Big Band - and even that I felt like I have no idea what I'm doing :D ! Respect to this young talent. Just do me a favor and don't send him to some kind of dumb american talent show that is broadcasted - that'd be the death of this young man's dignity !

  • @siffsoxx I know what you mean. LOL I "conducted" choral groups as a substitute teacher. Thankfully the accompanying pianist lead the way while waved my arms and tried to find the place in the score.

  • @siffsoxx well this will be the death of what he could be. he will conduct only by ear now. his patients should be more patient, at least for their son's sake.

  • @haritnokov:

Dude, you just scrutinized the directing skills of a freaking 4 year old.

You probably couldn't even read at that age. Get a life.

  • @capnchrist2007

Are you shure this boy can read? I strongly doubt it. Yes, he can wave his hands (call it "conducting" if you wish, I won't) but who knows, maybe you or I would've outshined him, had we gotten such a stupid infatuation at his age.

  • Yeah!!!! I hope that the Wiener Philharmoniker will invite him for the next Neujahrskonzert!

  • This is so much fun to watch!! Did Jonathan pick out the piece, or was it chosen for him? And yes Grandmagrumpy, he is very handsome in his tux!

  • He is so handsome in that tux! I love this video!

  • Something that strikes me is how much he seems to be in mastery of the music. At 4. Always amazing

  • I about had tears in my eyes - this makes me ridiculously happy =] music is my passion and to see it in such greatness makes me proud for him. I wish him the best!

  • What a heartwarming marvel. I hope I'm still around when this young man really makes his name, as he surely will.

  • :)))))

  • I don't see too many eyes on the conductor!

  • @lindensong1 I noticed that too...but they have to read the music too and they do seem to look up for cues. Do any of the conductors watching this have the same experience?

  • @Haritonov46 i just disagree with you.

  • @Haritonov46 You see a disgusting circus. I see a four-year-old having the time of his life.

  • @Haritonov46 You puzzle me. Your comments show a lack of understanding of this child's genius, and yet you made the video a favorite! Confusing.

  • @lindensong1 you don't need to have your eyes always on the conductor but can still see him all the time and clearly. just like you can watch tv and still know what's going on around you.

  • Thanks to Jonathan's parents for doing everything right. Does precognition exist? If so, here's proof. The video of this tiny little child conducting an orchestra of adults, with enthusiasm, precision, and depth, is quite spectacular. This little boy clearly wants to live in music. He shows neither conceit nor self-consciousness. All he needs is to keep studying with his wonderful violin teacher, and also to get a grand piano and lessons so he can learn to play his scores. Congratulations!

  • He really is something special

  • Comment removed

  • @paulphamnt1 Oh for goodness sake!! If the child enjoys soccer he should absolutely be playing soccer!!! Broken bones can heal...a childhood denied doing what you love can have longer lasting effects. This boy's parents are clearly amazing and any choices they make for him are none of you business quite frankly!!

  • I am so proud to be able to say that Jonathan and I share the same maternal ancestors, wish I shared the same talent. He has grown so much musically, what a future there is ahead for him. Bravo Jonathan.

  • Dear Jonathan,

I want you to know that I was your fan

before you got this famous: when you were 3, conducting at home.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you for inspiring and entertaining us once again with your amazing gift and passion. We love you.

  • He seems entranced at the end, totally absorbed with the orchestra, while the crowd cheers. Really nice job! I prefer the straight conducting the most, but he certainly is charming with all his cues! Bravo!

  • @fabianoasc - I'm speechless! :-) This little boy is amazing!

  • This FAMILY must be so proud of this ADORABLE CHILD! I cannot get over this! I have shared his Videos with the whole WORLD on my FB page!!! They are ENCHANTED! Do we all realize that he is just about 48 months old - a BABY and with a baby voice still!!! That is his gorgeous supportive Mom at end of performance sending him home to bed!!!

  • This is no joke. This child is BRILLIANT - and SERIOUS. Make no mistake about it. This will be his career which started months ago PROFESSIONALLY and he is so GORGEOUS which kind of makes it even more unusual and delicious to look at! Absolutely a miracle child. SCHOOLS - please do NOT take MUSIC away! . This child is an INSPIRATION to children - focused and followes his PASSION. Disciplined, yet still remains a normal kid playing soccer, hiking etc (important). BRAVO JONATHAN. Barbara Todres

  • Hurray for Jonathan! Keep loving, and sharing, the music!

  • The BSO Boston Symphony Orchestra and the MET OPERA need to look no further.

    Barbara Todres/NYC

  • This is too cute! It's great that he has such opportunities now. I will definitely look out for Jonathan's name twenty years from now.

  • @Niteangel100 I don't think it will even take 20 years!! There are plenty of geniuses conducting major orchestras at age 17 and younger :D

He is sooooo cute! Lucky kid to be doing all of this :)

  • Sei un amore! Really extraordinary! I feel we will hear about you very much...

  • imagine what will he be like over 10 years.. or 20

  • Mastery in motion!! Tears comes to our eyes to see this little Jonathan perform.

    Bravo, Jonathan....

  • Good luck, Jonathan!:)

  • AMAZING!!

  • How wonderful!!! I am beyond words right now with the joy and appreciation I have for Jonathan and the parents (and grandparents) in his life. What an amazing experience...and if it is this thrilling for us, how must all of you feel!
