  • Love EWF!!!

  • Capitol Sr. High School

    Baton Rouge, La.

    Class of 1980

Beautiful music, and beautiful south Louisiana women.

  • Heavily influenced by the most underated of all Johnny guitar watson

  • None better when it comes to funk than EFW. :) man I can see my dad jammin this in his time.

  • ... well this version is not bad, but i think the Bill Champlin version is better so far

  • @chackerr

Please please don't be confused, there those who write play and deliver like bombs and there is the rest

  • I love that Mark Levin uses this as bumper music on his show.

  • thumbs up if you aren't listening to this because you play it in band, but because you love the song

  • needs more cowbell

  • I WAS IN THE BAND AT MIAMI CENTRAL .WE PLAYED THIS SONG MR. TOLBERT WAS BAND DIRECTOR 1983.

  • We played this in Marching Band in high school back in '83.... loved it!

  • Love the intro!!!

  • 我が青春の青春讃歌

    E,W&Fよ永遠に!!

  • So tight

  • me and my boy pvt catlett wher jammin this in basic training ft benning ga 1979!!

  • The opening track of "I AM": and what an opening!

  • This group is so far ahead of anything ever made. Are you listening? Really are you??

  • This is a great song that Earth, Wind, and Fire did!!!

  • This is a great song that Earth, Wind, and Fire did!!!

  • For all you young bucks and bucketts, check EWF out live before they retire(the founding fathers of the group phillip, verdine and ralph all will turn 60 this year)it will change your life and let you see what we old folks groove to back in the day. I have a 12 year old daughter and she loves this type of music.

  • jojo it's the real song well SUCK IT!!!

  • Playing this in marching band right now...sooooooo much fun

  • Playi

  • i love this song it is literally the funnest thing to play (once you get it down of course lol)

  • i love this song in drum line movie.

  • You might find it hard to find another band that gives you the same experience brainysnaeha.......but yeah, sometimes other countries (as opposed to the US or the UK) get blocked from all the best stuff. And that just ain't right.

  • If ya listen real close at the beginning, the strings are handling the boogie rhythm . That is just too cool!

  • @jmaxg

Music companies today wanted us to felt like that because they are make music so awful these days.

And that damn copyright reason from sony music and warner music blocked me from listening many of

the earth wind & fire songs!

    I'm 17 and i'm listen to EWF since i was 14.

  • Yeah... what an intro. Just freakin' BRILLIANT phrasing... such a build-up!

I was a snot-nosed, 17 yr. old, White punk, freshly stationed in GY when this came out. I recognized immediately the amazing composition that this song is. The great pauses, the INCREDIBLE percussion and flat-out tightness!

Truly a masterpiece, IMO. Love the sound of all things EW&F to this day. =)

  • Great intro...this piece had a whole second life as the intro to a local late nignt movie broadcast that aired for years in the Seattle area on Komo channel 4 as the "fourmost movie" usually on Saturday/Sunday nights at 11:30 after the news.

  • I can't make my feet behave when I hear this song.

  • THIS IS MY S**T thumbs up!

  • There's only one way to play EWF and that's LOUD. LOVE that funky pluckin bass. Theee best rhythm section period

  • I'm really glad the interlude is also posted. EW&F used to fill the spaces between songs with short music pieces, like the one on the end of this one.

  • drum line!

  • I really agree with you, I really enjoy the drum patterns in this song.

  • 0 dislikes damn right! this was back when mainstream music had a message, now you gotta go underground to find bands this soulful

  • @makethetransition00 ONE PERSON DIDN'T CATCH THE HINT TAKE A LOOK

  • my mom loves it

  • lol

  • I like the beginning. It's sounds like music that would be on a sports broadcast. lol

  • @MoNicholasLaird It was liscensed in the late 80's early 90's for ACC Basketball broadcasts. Probably where you heard the instrumental

  • hey.... what's with the SUCK it? suck what? it's irrelivent.! dugh. back to the topic at hand.... I thinks this song is great. notice the cover, between the stone pillars, it says, very faintly, " I AM"..... that is G-d's aka YHVH's name. When Moses went up to Mt. Sinai, to recive the 10 commandments, He asked G-d what to call him, essentially, what His name is.... & G-d replied, I AM that I AM. wow.

  • @TheEndtymsnatzal

This person evidently doesn't know good, creativity music. I feel sorry for him or her. Such a disrespect to a group who made music not noise in the 70"s and beyond.

  • it's a very good song ..

  • You have good taste RacelOpen.

  • incredible song...loved their horns and tight harmony...everything about this group

  • This is Mickey Mouse's song! FANTASMIC!!!!

  • We're playing this in our field show for our high school marching band along with after the love is gone, let's groove, and September (: but to me, they're way to slow of songs for a field show....

  • @remixme789 That will have to do with the Band Master/Conductor. He or she is in charge of rhythm/pace. If they step it up, it won't be too slow. In the Stone is written so that it can be a marching song.

  • What a great band

  • soooooo goooood.

  • reminds me of the good old 70's !!!! indimenticabili anni 70 !!!

  • played this in the Coppell High School Marching Band. Awesome song.

  • I was in the Auburn University Marching Band and we played this... sounded real good with a band that was 300-strong. :-)

  • wow, this brings back stupendous memories of when i was in my little towns marching band, i think we had 7 people and we played this amazing song, although i was not in the band ( i was a drum holder) it aws a very emotional experience, all together i just was to get up and get groovy and shake my tail bone to this song

    long live marching band!!!!!!

  • i marched for University of Alabama Million Dollar band and we played it, ever since i have loved watch us play it just search MDB 2005 rock show
