Fallout refers to the reasons backing war, and in a sense, making it justifiable. The former is the physical aspect, and the latter, being Fallout, is the politics of war.

@DestinyHeroFlamer definitely not! There's waaaaaay too much backstory that they do a lousy job of explaining. (The plot is absolutely ridiculous anyway ) Chronologically it's 3, 1, 2, 4. I don't know if the PS3 backwards compatibility works with 2 and 3.

You can play 3 without having played the other games.

Of course you can ignore the story, and which point, yes, this is the best metal gear solid game. :)

@DestinyHeroFlamer yeah it is...but if you decide to go that route and actually go and play all of them the controls for ps1 metal gear 1 are way different then say snake eater i say you start from ps1 and as you go along the story the controls get better so do the graphics in terms of the order they were released that is, but chronologcally snake eater is the first yes

Both games are right.. Snake is just saying that the nature of war has changed, as in the way it's being fought, the reasons it's being fought over...you get the idea. Fallout, on the other hand, is basically saying that no matter what happens and what comes out of it, people will eventually keep fighting each other, as in there will always be war... Fallout has a much bleaker view on human nature then MGS does, but both games have a depressing worldview in a way..
