I dislike Blood Elves...not for any particular reason, they just aren't of my taste. But I think I see why they are so popular:

They look more like humans than any Horde race, which gives them a huge boon to players who want to look familiar yet play Horde. And they are elves, and elves have always been popular. Lastly (and I might get flamed for this), they have softer, more feminine appearances, which makes them opportune for characters who get their inspiration from anime.

A long time ago, they did used to be alliance. They felt as if night elves were more popular, so they broke off, thats why they look as if they are alliance..

Everything you said is 100% true. I lean more towards the Horde side while loving the humans because forests, farms, and grand cities like Stormwind is my thing. But Blood Elves, like you said, are familiar but still Horde. The Anime thing you said is true, I've always been a fan of Bleach, and Blood Elves remind me of Bleach characters in a way. Silvermoon is just gorgeous as well... Stormwind is my style but Silvermoon is sort of a rich, stuck-up elven version of Stormwind. I kind of like it.

From what I've seen, blood elves can be either a warrior, paladin, hunter, mage, warlock, priest, or rogue. I can't wait until the exansion comes out, this looks sweet!
