@ilts2 This city is indeed Dalaran. Lordaeron was destroyed largely due to Arthas betraying his father, the king, and then the scourge swarming the kingdom. Also, Lordaeron was much larger than Dalaran and had outer walls and all kinds of other townships within it. The city in this video is quite small and the towers with the spinning crystals are very common in the wizardy architecture.

@TheTraveler12 This is before WoW, when the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth. Archimonde, who was at the time in control of the Burning Legion, is the big ugly destroying Dalaran. The city of the same name in WoW was rebuilt from the ruins of Dalaran.

What confused me is throughout the whole entire game of Warcraft 3, I've never encountered a Draenei. I downloaded the game from a torrent, so I've never seen any of these cinematics because it does not have them. Anyways, I just got to the Night Elf part, so maybe there's more to see.

"Eredar" was the original name for the Dreanei people. they lived on their homeworld of Argus, where Sargeras first contacted them, and offered to have them join the Burning Legion. Kil'Jaeden, Archimonde and Velen were the "leaders" of the Eredar and so a vote was cast; should they or should they not join the Legion. Kil'Jaeden and Archimonde voted yes, and Velen voted no, on account of a vission he had. (to be continued in my next comment)

Velen then collected all the like-minded Eredar to run from the Legion in a Naaru ship, which they flew to a planet they later named "Draenor". They also renamed their people to "Draenei" to further cut off the ties with their misguided brethren. years passed on Draenor, and the draenei watched as the planet evovled and the orcs came to be (exact origins unknown as of yet). (to be continued in the NEXT comment...my fingers are starting to hurt...)

The orcs and draenei had semi-peacefull relations with each other untill Kil'Jaeden decieved the orc shaman with false vissions, painting the draenei to be evil beings who had to be destroyed. Through these vissions, the shaman learned the power of the Warlock. a few months later, the pit commander, Mannoroth comes and has the orcs drink his blood, turning them into war-crazed beasts, making their eyes burn red and they're skin turn green. (again...to be continued in the next comment T_T)

All I'm saying is that, yes maybe there is an explanation for why this demon can kill a city with sandcastles and not the world tree or anything. But why didn't they bypass that idea and since it's called warcraft (anyone actually know what "warcraft" means?) and have this demon strategically invade this city with an army. It would have been way more realistic and impressive as a cinematic. But that's just me, if you like cartoons with magical villains, then have fun, I like war games.

I may not be right, I'm not much into warcraft or the lore but fromt he video alone I could put together the city was made with magic, held together with it too. So linked to it, he then goes on to claim the magic is his and they tried to use it and he will now burn them with the very fire they sought to control or something. So he uses this link to create a magic replica and destroy it, think voodoo doll but with a city, something small extended to a larger scale.

draenei ("the Exiled Ones") is what Velen calls his people but the people are really eredars too.
