    From 183 to 178 then I checked yesterday...and i saw that I gained to 180 wtf....

    so i got really discouraged...I cant ex

    erice cause of a herniated disc I got hurt over a year ago. thats when i gained 40 pounds....I use to do zumba all the time and m so sad I cant do it anymore until they fix me up.. anywho...this is the first time at atkins...m excited , m subscibing..

  • really the soda burnt your throat i remember when i had my first soda when i was on the atkins diet it tasted o.k but then after i felt overly full and my stomach started hurting and i felt bloated...

  • your too cute... my dad does atkins and he lost over 50lbs.. he allows himself 2 diet sodas a day.. Zumba is awesome!!! try to find another class. What gym do you go to? i go to 24hour and they have zumba at different locations at different times. keep up the good work

  • when someone says to me atkins or low carb is not good that just lets me know they didnt read the bkk it lets me know that they dont know in phase 3 of atkins you can start adding berrys and fruits that dont spike your blood sugar levels hang in there you are doing so great

  • I did Atkins about 2 years ago and lost like 70lbs in 4 months, it is a very easy program to follow if you can go without bread-I love cheese and Atkins allows you to have cheese so I loved it, anyway good luck!

  • I think some people think atkins is unhealthy because a lot of people assume everyone who does it eats a ton of butter, red meat, and cheese... but I agree, if you are eating lean meats, veggies, water... that is great!!

  • ive done low carb and lost 75.2 pounds since late febuary keep it up it will come off fast its just the induction doing that to you. u'll see it will melt off take care.... I'll subscribe cant wait to see you melt like i did. have a good day take care.

  • It's a complete fraud.  "low carb" doesn't even mean anything. It's a marketing term used to sell books and products.

  • I disagree. If you think back to what people ate a hundred or so years ago, it wasn't Oreo's and Pizza Pockets. Take a look at what we in North America eat as compared to years ago. Low carb also doesn't mean no carbs b/c veggies have carbs. We eat way too much sugar and white flour foods and they aren't healthy.

  • yes agree... Low carb lifestyle really gets back to the basics of how we are supposed to eat. Back when we were hunting our food, and growing our veggies!

  • Can I ask u what Atkins book you are ready. I am hypothyriod and my hubby is type 2 diabetic and I have been thinking of living a low carb lifestyle and have read that that was a better way of eating for us.

  • Also, sorry, I meant to mention. My best friends Father was on Atkins, and he lost about 150, if not more, and he's kept it off. He looks astounding. I don't think Atkins would be good for ME, however, it is right for a lot.

  • I'm taking a Zumba class on Thursday, I can't WAIT! It also messes with my schedule, though, I start school next week.

  • You had so many non-scale victories this week: resisting temptation, standing up to RL peeps who question Atkins, asking for an on plan food at a party, working out, sticking to your goals, etc etc etc Congrats on a fabulous week. The scale WILL follow!

  • i feel ya w/ the family functions and the food, my fam was over for the weekend a few weeks ago and i pigged out the whole weekend - unfortunately i did give in.   • Have you done any measurements? I know that with Atkins the scales may not always drop, but the inches do.. good job keeping at it :) <3

  • I too am quite the scale addict, so I too know the frustration.

    I think you had a great week - even if the .4 increase. You did and are looking wonderful. There is a good recipe for a faux mac and cheese (google it) on both adbb and lowcarbfriends. If you are jonesing for that taste, try that recipe and let me know how it goes.

  • I am not a carnivore so this would never work for me. I do eat meat but it's very minimal. Congrats on doing so well so far. :)

  • I had my first diet pop this past week too after not having any for awhile- it wasn't as good as I remembered. Probably a good thing. Keep up the good work!

  • right now as i do the master cleanse, i'm reading the atkins revolution book! it seems like it might be great for me! i might do the master cleasnse and the rest of the week and than try atkins or i might do master cleanse another week or two but, i'm definantly trying atkins! it's the only diet i've never tried so why not? lol! thank you for sharing. i know alot of people frown on atkins but, that's better than popping pills or starving your self!

  • Hey Amber, stick to your guns on your atk. program. If it works for you it will work. Dont ever feel bad about asking your family help you stick to your program. Most fam. will be very understanding and want to help you reach your goals.

Don't fall into the scale trap- you are meeting your goals so the scale can go to ^&** ! :) Anyway- great job on the temptation resistence- I found I have to always pack food with me- too much of our standard diet is a no no for any diet/ healthy lifestyle. Atkins can definitely be healthy- IF it is used in a healthy manner- like any other plan. Don't worry about defending it- your results will speak for you :)
