I think this quite a brave thing to do, because as I observed, American would prefer to keep their religion personal - now, the US president is sharing something personal - I just hope all the Christians in the world realized that we share the same burden of making Christ known even by the simple task of being a good neighbor and a brother's keeper.

Mr. president--why the hesitation in explaining why you are a Christian. A true Christian will not be ashamed of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He will not be hesitant at speaking on the Lords teachings. they are NOT precepts (which is a doctrine that is taught or rule of personal conduct)--JESUS came to give life and more abundantly. I am not judging you, just have some concerns. Seems to me that because elections are near, now you speak to get votes like you did before, but no action.
