@kurdprownage With the program I was using, when it said it had an unexpected character, it was because the file of my video had a forward slash (/), and my Windows XP computer doesn't allow characters like that to be placed, so it couldn't read it.
I highly doubt that is the problem, and I'm sure you've already solved your problem... but this might help (lol).
Hi, can you help me please ? I have done all until I reach at 1:59, when I click start button it say "MeGUI encountered a fatal error and may not be able to proceed. Reason: Could not load file or assembly 'MediaInfoWrapper, Version=0.7.33.0, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null" or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified"...uh, what should I do ? Please help...(>^<)
@demon6937 Most likely your source video is a VFR (Variable Frame Rate) which is a pain in the arse to deal with. I would suggest finding out first if that's what it is and if it is, then just try to find a different source that is constant frame rate.
@flowEdit You need a dll file that comes with haali media splitter called avss.dll Download and install Haali Media Splitter then go to it's folder and copy that dll file over to your avisynth plugins directory. After that DSS2 will work.
Question, how do I hardcode them if I want to eventually get MP4 format? Trying to get 1080p Avatar (15GB) to mp4 with hardcoded subtitles to play on my PS3...so any help?
@harthaljas Sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure what the problem is exactly that you're having. If avisynth tells you there's an error, what error does it say and what is your avisynth script? To encode it to h264 mp4 all you need to do is find a ps3 x264 profile from the dropdown list and select it, then encode it. The script should be the same. I'm not sure why you're having problems encoding to ac3. Go into your megui folder and make sure there's something there for ac3.
@DarkFuture69 Whatever you want. You can pick whichever one if you're going to encode the video directly into an MKV. You'll still have to mux the audio and video together in the end. Either way, MKV will accept any of the video types so encode in whatever you want.
Your right, it works with AC3 scratchpad. But now, I have an avisynth script error when opening it up in the video input: there is no function named "DSS2". :(
@DarkFuture69 Have you read what the error is? Can you write that out? Try encoding to a different audio type and see if it works. Try something like AC3 scratchpad. If that works, what you can do if you only want to upload these to youtube is then merge the video and audio as an MKV and upload it to youtube when it's done. It'll work because the subs are hardcoded into the video.
I know I've had trouble encoding to MP3 for a while with MeGUI so I got Xilisoft Audio Converter to do MP3.
If you have a VFR file and you cannot find one that isn't what would you suggest? Other than that this guide has been a great help.
