Garmin Nuvi Mount - ARKON GN097-USB Powered Lighter Socket Mount

When I power my Nuvi 780 with the USB cable from my computer, the unit will not go into navigation mode. Does the Arkon cable have a different pinout or something that allows the Nuvi to go into navigation mode?

Unfortunately, with the Garmin Nuvi 780 uses a cradle for power, and when you plug the GN097-USB directly into the mini USB on the Garmin Nuvi 780, it goes into sync mode and therefore won't allow you to use navigation.

@flyintheskeye There is some difference, my 660 will not go into navigation mode when plugged into the computer either, however when I plug the aftermarket charger into it which powers it through the USB it will go into navigation fine, I assume it is a difference pin out or something that tells it there is a difference,
