i totally agree with you. if he was to graduate high school first AND THEN GO, I REALLY WOULDN'T CARE. but he is dropping out to play basketball. he is not going to get his GED and he isgoing over there for the money. his dad is the biggest crook in the world for exploiting his own son. he plays for a shitty school and claims that he has no comp in the US. he isn't looking for competition b/c he could easily find it if he really wanted to. 2 words: prep school
Jeremy Tyler is good, but by no means the greatest high school player. Instead of learning to win and improving in high school, Tyler is going to chase the almighty dollar before he has even proven he can lead a winning team at the high school level (his team was 15-11 this past season).
hes getting his GED and we all know that he would leave after a year at UoL. He's not getting better playing in SD. dudes going to get paid and is getting better prepared by going to europe. and if basketball doesn't work out, hopefully he's smart with the moeny and will use it for college tution.
I totally agree. I mean your young once and he should just enjoy being in HS. Its a one time experience. At the least get a diploma. But I wish the best of luck to this young Star.
brah, feel what you're saying but, i dont know if i agree completely...i mean, society embeds it into our heads that we need money to do anything, this is a capitalistic society, would you agree???...with that said, they've been doing this in individual sports for years, and lets also look at mr stern for FORCING kids to go to college....i mean, there are SO many angels to this, we can go on all day....but i understand where you're coming from as far as "at least get a diploma"...........
(^^^angles^^^)......he said he'll get his GED, lets take em up on his word...i mean, lay this deal on the table in front any american, guarantee at least 50% would take it, agree???...i agree with you fully, but this is such a compounded issue
man wat the heck u talkin bout education is important but he makin good grades so really u got all that money u dont need school and like me i have the same love for basketball if this would happened to me id do the same thing he 6'11 hes not goin to go over there and just suck hes goin to the nba
It's a little sad how much we devalue education and value money...If he finish school like he says than that's great but this can start a scary trend...what about the next kid whose not making the grades...or the kid whose not as good...I'm not saying the kid needs to go to college but at least finish high school...we don't need kids droppin out to play basketball now..That's my biggest fear
u dont know if he's going to the league just cause he is big doesn't mean he is gonna make it. if he gets hurt or doesn't work out he is gonna be workin at McDonalds for the rest of his life
Hes going to get his education, but while playing in us he would not get payed. In Spain he can play with profesionals, get payed, and study at the same time. Only difference is hes not playing for free.
I think he's gonna get his GED in Europe. And remember you have to be good to play in Spain or Greece and if this guy's that good and can make money at it at such a young age, more power to him.
He made it.
