  • Cool, cavitation in action.

  • cavitation slipstream looks so cool

  • you can even see the cavitation on one of the blade tips. far out!

  • did your gopro not leak with all that water pressure directly on the seal?

  • i bet the fish just love that sound...

  • well, now i understand why cavitation is so important with boats lol.

  • hey true facy did you know that at the edge of the propell its as hot as the edge of the sun 6000 degreese

  • Cool video. thanks for posting it.

  • The Camera is a standard definition GoPro wide angle. The company makes two HD cameras now. See: gopro.com/

  • cool video water camera are you using

  • @2008FORDF450V8

Thanks. The Camera is a standard definition GoPro wide angle. The company makes two HD cameras now.

  • very cool

  • I don't understand how the camera withstands all this water pressure that equals many meters depth or many atmospheres pressure...

  • @jordyboy0129 Where did you get your degree Marine Engineering at 15? Or is that a "title" your daddy gave you to at his shop? You surely know that Ventilation and Cavitation ARE two totally different things, right? If your school taught you that they are the same then you should burn any diploma you received! And the reason most boats are hard to turn left is because of the "paddle wheel effect" the prop has due to it's rotation. It's cool, just go back to school. You have a lot of BASIC Marin

  • @BillyBlue1969 yes this was my couisen on my account i do no there is a difference i know proberly alot more than most people lol. and No thats not just a title i went to my dads friends university and did the test so its partly official

  • nice you can actually see the vortex created by the prop. Thats why its so hard to turn to the left hehe

  • cavitation

  • its cool

  • Nice view..

  • Why isn't there a cone at the center? it makes a lot of bubbles and drag probably, wouldnt it be more efficient with a cone?

  • @Allexxx96Reloaded there isn't a cone in the middle because the bubbles you see coming out of the centre of the prop are the engine's exhaust gasses.

  • @cathburgerqueen then that is actually helping with the thrust right?

  • @Allexxx96Reloaded I dare say it might be providing an extra couple of ounces

  • @Allexxx96Reloaded the exhaust of an outboard is vented out of the center of the prop. I am sure that it does produce drag however maby the presure of the exhaust of the gasses is enough to over come the drag. Also i would think that the drag between the hull and the water is probly so great that most other drag is so minimal as to not make too much diff.

Just a few thoughts. A great video never the less.

  • Whether it be cavitation of ventilation I don't care. It looks cool!!!!! Thanks for making this video.

  • wow isnt that just amazing

  • Does the cavitation occur because of low pressure or because or high temperature? I mean how do the bubbles create?

  • So this is how hurricanes start RIGHT ? :) great video Thanks

  • Re: combination of both. Good point and description. I think the cavitation begins at 16 seconds, and then we see it again when the speed is reduced - at around 38 seconds.

  • @jordyboy0129 You are referring to ventilation, which is when the prop pulls air down from the surface, or partially comes out of the water. This video is cavitation, but only very minor. There is a bit of ventilation going on here as well, so it's a combination.

  • yamaha would look better then that anyday

  • you show cleary when the cavitation starts. Great video

  • Are the bubble rings cavitation or is that just how a prop looks?

  • @eaxnitro cavitation

  • @eaxnitro tehy arnt cavitation thats just what happens when it spins in the water you clearly dont know what cavitation is it is where the cavitation plate comes out of the water and the prop aswell and meets air and slips!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jordyboy0129 - You have it mixed up. Cavitation is shown here. The bubbles are not coming from the surface, they are being boiled out of the water by the extreme pressure drop at the propellor tips. When surface air is sucked down and the propellor slips it's called ventilation. Two entirely different things.

  • @proaudiohd over here in england we call ventilation you have it mixed up i have my own boat yard i am a marine engerneer gone through 7 years of marine studys and you dont think i know my stuff plus what are you just a person who thinks he knows stuff. i can understand yes as over where you are its two differnt things here its all combined.

    by a marine tech engerneer

  • @jordyboy0129 - Yeah, some people here call it the same thing. I'm pointing out that it's two very different things with different fixes. I love boating too, been changing props and doing fiberglass since I was a kid.

  • @proaudiohd yeah i have been in ribs with triple 350 mercs since i was 7 lol now i am 15 i have gone through courses most of my life i am now a marine engerneer at my dads boat yard and i can get £10,000 most days lol. which is about a year earning from £200,000 to £350,000 a year my dad used to be a surgen and earned £600,000 a year until he bought the boat yard i tend to work on outboards and my dad tends to work on stern drives inboards and canal barge engines. are you a marine engerneer

  • @jordyboy0129 sure thing kid

  • @jordyboy0129 Bollocks!

  • @jordyboy0129 Also, if you were an engineer you would know how to spell the word 'engineer'!

  • @nickparry01 Yers yu musd learnered da werd spelleings proplie! ;)

  • @jordyboy0129 generally people who really are 'ENGINEERS' actually know how to spell it and are not un-educated dickwads

  • @Daimo988 I am so-so sorry but my i phone re-corrects it. yes i work at my dads boat yard (rbc) my dad is also a surgeon at harrogate general hospital so i basically run the place. I see you call me Un-educated I GO TO HARROGATE GRAMMER SCHOOL and i am A* GRADE student and have done a degree in marine and naughtical engineering. I and my business is recomended by nearly all of the marine and inboard, outboard and boat producers e.g. mastercraft, mercury mariner, suzuki, yamaha, bayliner.

  • @jordyboy0129 never heard of an auto correct function that replaces with a word that does not exist.............

  • @eaxnitro Each tube is a tip vortex from a prop blade, In the marine world its known as cavitation.

  • Cool Video !

  • That was cool.

  • Awesome Vid! Thanks!!

  • Greate vid ! *thumbs up*

  • Awsome vid!

  • very nice my friend! awesome vid!

  • This was really awesome to watch! *thumbs up*

  • The camera is mounted on a pole attached to the boat.

  • That is what I'm talking about! Sweet sweet video.

  • that was sweet
