This video was made to be shown to central and south american audiences as a "good will" from the united states to garner support for the allies and help stop the spread of the axis to latin america that's why the people apear in typical "steorotypical" latin american clothing.
Well sorry the "Clean" family's father had a salary paid job who could afford all that shit while the other family did what they could. Although, it was pretty funny knowing that Johhny's Dad basically rub his shit in his hands and ate it, lol!
Actually if you look cloesly at how Disney portraited the "Clean" family, they are not nessicerly any more rich than the "careless" family. Note how they use local materials to build the basic sanitary items in their house as opposed to BUYING them. this is actually a pretty good little film vs. many others of the day which would work to shame the poor into buying into a petty capitalist existance.
I think they really brought it in a correct way. The clean family doesn't have any goods that are more expensive then the stuff of the careless family. For example: The latrine the cleans dad makes is made of twigs etc.
It's not just having a bunch of material possessions. The clean family would have a higher income because they raise healthy crops and the dirty family does not.
