I usually use about half the power of the amp on the level. Turn the bass down on the deck and let the amp put out the bass. The amp shouldn't put out as much distortion as the deck. If you have a crappy amp you will get crappy sound. If you don't have good round for one or if you have thin gauge wire. I'd say use at least 12 gauge for the speakers when using over a 1000 watt amp... meaning an amp that actually puts out that amount .. not like a pyle of shit or pyramid.

Yeaaa, great speakers. I use a Klipsch 4.1 system with an extra sub hooked into the back of my pc, shit BANGS on its own though the extra sub's just so I can piss the neighbors off easier

i got a ? i just bought a power acoustic amp and when i turn the knob for more power my subs will start pounding with the voulum all the way down do u know if something is wrong with the amp or is my sub just to small the sub is a cheap ass dual and i also got two mtx thunder 4500 10 inch subs hooked up to it the dual is a 12 inch 500 watt sub

ok turn the volume up to about 3/4 the way up on the hea dunit, then go back to the amp and adjust the gain. turn the bass boost all the way down. or to very little of it, prefferably under 3 db. then while moving the gain up just listen for the sub to sound horrible and distorted. once you have it where it doesnt sound bad at all then just leave the gain right wher eit is. the gain is NOT a vloume knob. your head unit is a volume knob. more information at ssa forums just google it

I got those same speakers from bestbuy with the same box. I also have the option of closing the box with that plactic thing between the two subs, does it make a difference???

Mine came with a package with a 500 wt pwr acoustik, it bumped but not what I wanted. I got me a punch 400 2 channel, added two 6x9's to my scion XB, and DAMN!!!! I have an ear infection.

I have the FUBARs, wonderful woofers.

I can tell you for sure though EvilOne, you aren't getting close to 1600W constant.

1600W constant would however be ideal, as each woofer is rated for 800W constant each.

its a plastic thing that they give you with the box(acually 2 of them one that restrics air flow through it and another that acts as a port). it so you can port it or go sealed. i found that the sealed sounded better.

Yea i know but the sound quality isn't there for what your trying to do in this video witch is capture the depth and range of bass that this sub is putting out,if u look at the only video i have favorited so far and turn your speakers up semi loud,thats the kind of quality u would need to capture the full ferocity of the bass...

yo u got the same box as i do, i got a question...dxurin the install of the subs to the box, did u connect the speaker wires provided with it to ea terminal and then use the same weird ended other side of the wire and place it in the sub?

yea i used the wires that came with it because they were soldered to the terminals other wise i would have run thicker wires.
