Two thing that would be nice to know and both hard to obtain, one being can a temperature difference be detected in the battery when under charge. My guess is that it would not be what would be expected...
I would hazard a man on the street guess at your coil pickup. The excitation is causing considerable jiggling of the battery molecules that they are producing a secondary EMF. SO much for the man on the street :-)
Great work! So ca I say I understand it properly and 'It is charging'? Just the charge is a fact worth noting in its self from a single wire transmission method. That MPSA06 is really working, can you watch TV when its running?
Hello Doctor Stiffler. Yes, it is charging the battery for real and I do test under load many, many, many, too many times (science hun??!!!) and I do can watch TV as it does charge it. I was able to minimize the RF with the combination of chokes and caps. The MPSA06 is the one of choice in this configuration but in others the NPN2222A works well too. I guess it all depends on the load in case.
I dont understand though how a coil around the battery can catch the signal in a very usefull manner
