  • Looks like a perfect day. Beautiful pond, fish are biting, and a good friend.

  • @dddd111159 Thank you! Wish I could still fish there; property has been sold!

  • thats a really nice pond :)

  • @BassinwithDeionSmith Thanks, Deion. Sure wish I could still fish it, but it is under new management.

  • @Winkiedoodles awww that sucks but I'm starting to make lures now and maybe when I'm done with my first few prototypes i'll send you one to try :)

  • @BassinwithDeionSmith Sounds like a deal! What kind of lures are you making? I know pouring soft plastics is a popular thing to do these days and the baits (such as stick baits) are always cool. Just let me know; send me a message and I'll send my mailing address. Don

  • @Winkiedoodles well right now im workin on my first top water lure made out a 100 percent wood and i dont really know how to make soft plastics yet

  • @BassinwithDeionSmith Sounds like fun; don't cut yourself carving! :) Best wishes.

  • @Winkiedoodles thanx my dad said he may dig a 15 acre lake on our property in mississippi

  • I will take crappie over perch any day

  • ou mrean the guy with the channel "fishing with Joe"/?!! eeeeehhhhh?????? he ain't 1/4 as cool as you bro! or roadsnake!

  • @gregoir Ha! How unfair! I don't know anybody as cool as I! :)

  • maybe rem did, have to check and yeah, some conservation areas, that pond I told you about is part of cuyahoga valley n.p., tell your friend from c-bus if ya want to get aholda me, goin to bed , hopefully ge tout tomorrow see ya talk to ya soon-

    Greg

  • I'm hopefully getting out to a few of the local creek's and possibly the(Cuyahoga) river later today I find these awesome spot's to go, nobody want's to believe there are fish there but last winter and fall I nailed a few crappie and bluegill out of them and about 14 small rainbow's and steelies from tis beautiiful"pool" in a nearby creek, it says right on the fish Ohio report that there are"stray" steelhead andmore in there, not alotta ppl. go though, surprising with the way Ohio gets overfished

  • @gregoir Didn't REM sing a song about Cuyahoga and something about how it was messed up? Do you have conservation areas in your vicinity; sometimes they have really good bass ponds. There's a couple near Boonville, MO in central MO (we lived there 5 years) that were spectacular for belly boating. I plan to take a trip back up there one of these days. My buddy Joe Jordan there in Columbus is always filming at different spots in Ohio and does well at times. Tight lines; good luck!

  • That stink's! about the news on the pond! and yeah that hat cam (smack on the gairaaage door) is one of my favorites and the way you sssay it with that "millenium fake ststhsthtyle listhsssssp(what I call those-can't sthsssstand iieeat haha)) is hilarious! weathers been lousy here, typical n.e. endof sept. star of oct. weather haha I still get the heebygeebies when this reminds me of being a kid with the"weird weather, cant fish as much cuz I'm back in school bluuuuue's! gotta watch it on youtube

  • @gregoir Greg, the "fake millenium style lisp" how funny! Of course I do impersonations and acting in my videos from time to time but never had a name for that vocal technique until now. It's great, and I'll steal the moniker if you don't mind. We've had lousy weather, too, basically due to nothing but sunshine. I'm still going to get out today and try some "river" fishing just above Lake Springfield. You know it's a bummer that I'm not teaching school this fall (yeah, right)!

  • @Winkiedoodles moniker? I guess it's ok if you steal it, especially since I don't know what it is? man you got me stumped on that one(yeah I was an english major in h.s.) I even looked it up and nothing haha have fun I'll be back asap.-

    Greg

  • @gregoir A moniker (or monicker) is another term for a nickname, pseudonym, or cognomen. For example, 'He earned the moniker “Gator” from his days wrestling alligators in Florida -or- I think “Happy” is an appropriate moniker for someone who smiles so much.' One of my "characters" in my vids is "Mr. Medicated." I don't know his real name (ha).

I must have had a better high school English teacher? :)

  • Hilarious @ 3;18! another great one Don! plus I checked out your new one(ok I do)! pond fishing, especially a place like that is like your new hat cam(cuz it's the booooomb)

  • @gregoir Thanks, Greg. This is what I'd call a "vintage" video but it's still popular for some reason. Unfortunately, I can't fish there any longer as the owner leased the property to someone else. Ha! So, you do remember that my "new hat-cam is the bomb!" huh? I wondered if anybody picked up on that bit of spoofiness with a full-size JVC camcorder and tripod on my head. I'm going to have to "inject" that scene in some future fishing vids again just for fun.

  • your very welcome

  • some people just ruin it for all of us

  • @MrSheppard22 Sadly, yes they do. Thanks for watching.

  • AWESOME.....i havent had a good pond to fish in a few years...people are really wierd about letting experience catch and release fisherman fish...but i guess its their property, so i cant blame them

  • @ThleTruth If I had a pond I wouldn't let anybody but people I knew and trusted fish there. I see what goes on while I'm out fishing and completely understand a property owner's concerns. It is sad that the indescretions and abuses of a few affect us all.

  • @Winkiedoodles true

  • 1:42

Lost a huge bass doing that two days ago, pissed me off so much. Didn't think I would need a net because I was just fishing for bluegill :/

  • Winkie, what kinda line were yall using? Ive been using braided in mossy areas like that but they always get little knots and its a pain to get out. I was wonderin if mono worked just fine??

    Thanks,

    Cruz

  • @777Revolutionary I don't know exactly what was spooled on my friend Gary's Zebcos, but it was mono for sure. I haven't used braided line for years (was addicted to Spiderwire for a time). Yes, mono works just fine. In fact, I have florocarbon on the rods/reels I use the most. Heaviest is 10 lb., probably Segaur or P-Line.

  • Best part of catching them...is when you put them back they'll only get bigger the next time!

  • yyyyyyyyyyyyyooooooooooooooooooooooo bbbbbbbbbbbbaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • hey winkie,

I was just wondering what lures you were using to catch these beauties!

    Thanks

  • @catfishchris1 Thanks for watching and asking, Chris. We used plastic worms and topwater Pop-Rs. I also caught several nice ones on a black and blue fluke. It was one of those days when they would have bitten the kitchen sink.

  • i wish i were u cuz i wanna go bass fishin

  • @XxBlackknight28xX if u were me youd be at work rite now but maybe bass fishin a bit later on thanks for commenting

  • i really respect catch and release but i would of ate all that lol

  • @balisong209 I hear ya. I think I kept several smaller bass that day for the fry pan but when there's a lot of bigger bass being caught it is very good to put them back.

  • how far from buffalo

  • @iDirtyDan A few miles S. of Bolivar puts it around 25 miles or so from Buffalo.

  • @Winkiedoodles you ever fished the niangua river

  • @iDirtyDan I dabbled a bit at the stretch of the Niangua that's at the public access a few miles East and North of Buffalo. Caught a few small smallies, blue gill, that sort of thing.

  • I LOVE FISHING WITH THE BETTLE SPIN!!!!!!

  • is this pond anywhere near battlefield,mo ?! =P looks awesome

  • @southernMOfisher No, it is a few miles S. of Bolivar. We can't fish there anymore due to the landowner's lease, darn it!

  • Nice video. This is what fishing is all about. Relaxin in your boat with a friend catching and releasing bass.

  • @GBsoccerlayer Thanks for watching; it was a pretty nice afternoon and the bass were hitting different baits pretty well.

  • nice fishing video i will subcribe

  • @rockenriffs Thanks!

  • That's Amazing, congrats; I'm hoping someday have my personal fishing pond.

    One like yours of course.

    Greets

  • @AlexMega666 Thanks Alex. I wish it were my pond, but unfortunately it isn't. I've only fished there a very few times and now it is leased and so no more fishing!

  • @iTzMe878 Thanks for watching and commenting and have a great time on the pond in KY this year!

  • i would like a mr and mrs hamburger and cheese right now. oh that was a good one

  • @6team1xtreme9 thnx for watching much appreciated

  • @Winkiedoodles no problem i love watching fishing videos. Fishing = fun times :)

  • bubb

  • y do u guys use such bad equipment

  • @TopAZangler I fished with my friend; what equipment he had wasn't important. If you're talking about my rod/reel collection that's OK, too.

  • @Winkiedoodles The equipment you guys have is better then mine. I don't have a boat. The one your using looks fine. It's all about the fun anyway. Enjoy!

  • @TopAZangler Uh, because you don't have to spend a fortune on gear to have fun fishing maybe? Who cares what gear you are using so long as you catch fish?

Looks like you fellas had a good time. Personaly I don't care if I am using a zebco or a $200 baitcaster as long as I am catching that many fish.

  • @StaticPulse83 Right on target, thank you! Best wishes.

  • In my eys, great way to spend the day

  • @iwantzpikelz12 A farm pond is usually a wonderful place to fish; thanks for watching!

  • that big bass that jumped out of the water was hella tight

  • @fenderjoey1234567890 he was one good jumpen hella tite fish for shur

  • That was one good jumpen fish!

  • @batstarwars2 Thanks; they were quite good jumpers!

  • Now that is living my friends!

  • @MattDOAman Thanks, Matt. Unfortunately, that was the last time we were able to go there as the owner leased the land to somebody else.

  • wat r u using

  • @MrKiller2991 i r using a worm and a fluke guy in front using a pop r

  • ponds premium in my book

  • @l7ryanl7 Mine too! Can't be beat!

  • Nice looking fishin spot, Did you have a trolling motor on that boat?

  • Yes, we did have a trolling motor. That pond is full of bass, crappie and big bluegill. This was an "off" day!

  • @Winkiedoodles Jeez, I need to find a spot like that, I want to try to get a nice little boat like yours first though.

  • Hope you find a good pond! With any luck, I'll get back out there with Gary this year (hopefully soon during crappie season).

  • a great day on the water!!

  • Thanks, Tony. Not my best video production, but we did catch quite a few fish. Good ponds are so much fun!

  • great video don't you wish it was always that easy haha

  • Thanks BK527. There were a few days in past years that we've done really good on this pond (no camera of course)! A good farm pond is such fun!

  • was that popper the top producer?5*

  • It was a tie between the pop-r and either a plastic worm or a split-shotted fluke.

  • i love your vids. you are definitely are funny

  • Thank you! Fishing should be a fun sport as far as I'm concerned!

  • What farm pond is this lol?

  • Thanks for watching; it really doesn't have a name and belongs to a friend of the guy (Gary) in the front of the boat. It's a few miles S. of Bolivar, MO.

  • Great video guys !

  • Thanks D&T. I was surprised we caught no crappie as that pond is full of them. Oh well, that's fishing for you.

  • cant go wrong with a bettle spin and you are very funny

  • Thanks, Lays Chips....fishing should be great fun for folks of all ages!

  • A beetil spin will catch almost anything. Glad you liked the video!

  • @ 2:25 looks like a berkley 7 in power worm, electric purple. my fav. bait.

  • Wow, Jordan, you are really close! It was a Berkley Power Worm in "Blue Fleck", which, along with "Tequila Sunrise" is about all I normally use under most conditions. There's lots of great soft plastics but I have a lot of faith in those Power Worms. Thanks for watching!

  • Great Video!! Good time for sure!!!

  • Thanks, appreciate your watching and commenting Ryr!

  • Great video! Looks like you guys had a blast! Place is a gem!

  • Hey, thanks, Tin! It was a nice (and welcome) relief from no good fishing elsewhere for the past 3-4 weeks or so. We caught a bunch despite the bluebird skies. Thanks for watching!

  • great video 5 stars!! where is this pond?

  • Thanks, Orange! It is about 30 minutes N of Springfield and just a few miles S. of Bolivar, MO.

  • Thanks, Hero...it was indeed a frenzy, that's for sure.

  • Wow nice vid, you guys were pulin um in. I'm going to go fishing tomorrow.

  • Thanks, Hero! it was a great day, or rather a great few hours. Farm ponds are notoriously good fisheries and we were in the market for crappie at first.
