  • i am from the united kingdom, i believe the days of what are now classed as paganistic views are dying because of the current system, and i think the native americans were hard done by in the past... i have great respect for all of the native americans for carrying on your views, traditions and beliefs long after people came from others lands and ruined what was a beutiful place... peace, and one mind to all, look where modern science and itellegence has got us, and ask yourself who was right?

  • The Hopi's have a ritual where they "hunt" their peyote buttons. They believe the peyote cactus contains a spirit/s that needs to be snuck up on and contained in the plant by shooting it with an arrow from a distance. When this is done they communicate their thanks with the cactus, like after a deer kill, and harvest it.

  • Thank you so much for posting these beautiful videos of the powerful Eagle Dance. I notice that you put some of the description of the Paiute Eagle dance in the past tense-- Aren't these beliefs held anymore? I always feel sad when someone uses the past tense about a Native American culture.

    But thanks again.

  • Note the Video Response which documents the Family of the Pyramid Lake Paiutes carrying on the Eagle Dance tradition in Nixon Nevada.

  • Thanks--it's very nice to see the Eagle Dance tradition being carried forward.

  • sorry, disregard that last post. Someone from another site was making racial remarks that infuriated me. So that comment was NOT meant for this video clip.Again sorry

  • Of course (ifukyouintheass), I am not racist either and I like this commercial too. What a coincidence. Although, I don't agree Indians don't throw liquor bottles on their own reservations... Your generalizing and talking about every reservation. I am sure you have never even been to pinch of them. If you have nothing better to say, stay off this site.

  • U.N.I.T.Y. is going to Oklahoma this year. Natives from all over the nation will be there. Come share your culture, and meet new people. Their will be games and dances. Their will also be education workshops for teens about college and health...Famous native actor Adam Beach was there last year. Come see who will be there this year for UNITY. Hope to see you there. Visit unityinc. org for more information. I am going, and I'm 18.
