these old geezers need to stop analyzing a movie like it is a fucking documentary it's a fucking movie.... I hope someone makes a movie so damm fucking good for these old geezers they have a heart attack in the movie theaters and just die happy....
Hahaha naw I'm not a die hard fan of the movie lol.. I just thought it was a cool movie, nothing special but just a chill movie, some moments in the movie really got to me like where they gather up with all the other tribes that's just dope... something we need to do in these times we need unity :), but yeah besides all that these old geezers talk mad crap about the movie's like they are going in to watch a biography it's a movie, it's suppose to entertain you and feed your imagination damn
It was good review, showed the strengths and faults of the film and was a fair assessment. I enjoyed the film sure it was not what i hoped to see but it was a enjoyable popcorn flick that was not meant to be historically accurate.
First why would there have to be big names actors? They would have taken away from the movie. Flesh eating Ostriches? It's shameful the level of intelligence of the general population. There called 'Terror Birds" or Phorusrhacids. I don't understand the negative criticism of those whom have reviewed this movie. Sounds like the criticism is what's really *unoriginal!* 10,000 BC Underrated and Underappreciated.
went to see this based on the awful previews, because i knew it was going to be awesomely bad! boy, it was! everyone in the theater was laughing hysterically at the ridiculousness of this! and at least half left before it got to the halfway point!
There is no plausible evidence for the idea that nomads quit wandering b/c they wanted to make alcohol. Agriculture developed over 10-12,000 years ago, while the oldest examples of fermentation are only about 6-7,000 years old. Quite a gap. Nomads likely quit wandering once they realized agriculture would be a much more stable food source.
That explanation probably makes more sense. Man, this movie was so bad it made me want to be nomadic and wander around looking for alcohol to dull the pain. I can't believe I left a comment about it 2 months ago. I forgot all about this movie.
i can't believe how few hits there are for thes guys they are great, learned, funny, warm and show that getting old doesn't mean you have to become diluted in personality. On top of that i usually agree with their reviews to a large extent
Am I the only one who found the music strangely reminicient of King Arthur? I liked the movie- I don't care if it isn't scientifically accurate- I want to be entertained! Hey- mammoth were here 10,000 years ago (according to the Discovery Channel).
amen. absolutely whole heartedly agree. absolute garbage. when will they learn that we don't want this crap? they should have learned, cause the movie pretty much bombed.
It amazes me that that this turd of a story, which could have been greatly improved by any random member of the catering staff, was the basis for all of the sets, all of the make-up, all of the CGI, all of the labor and man-hours that went into this movie. Why not try a little harder to write a compelling story? It's the cheapest part of the production to create. When there is no story, all of the effects etc. just make this movie a bloated, gold-plated turd.
haha - agree completely! a little more time on the plot and script!! like the whole sabre tooth tiger thing was just CHEESY and way too convenient. I almost laughed out loud over that. And the drawing of the "prophecy" was ridiculous. There was not a single thing compelling in the story. It was straight garbage. Makes me feel good we all agree on that it seems, so maybe Hollywood will get message - we want a quality plot, not just CGI effects. We have brains that need stimulating, not just eyes.
I was also shocked that there weren't any rape scenes.. but I was happy about it because I don't like watching people get raped. On the other hand -- I kept thinking how unrealistic it was that no woman in the movie was sexually assaulted, and about how it relates to the lacking media coverage of the numerous gang rapes of women and children in Darfur.
Yeah like the guy that was obsessed with the girl played too nicely, I mean you're a freaking villain who enslaves hundreds of people almost daily and you basically ask your prisoner/slave to have sex with you?
And no they didn't need to actually show the rape but simply give the idea that that happened
I saw this movie yesterday. The only reason I continued to sit through it after the first 20 minutes is becaue I paid for it. On a positive note it was very reassuring to see that even 12,000 years ago the bad guys looked like Arabs and the good guys looked like Anglo Saxon Jesus.
Cinema as literature can be fror learn too, not only for have a fun, that is a stupid idea.
there are books for have fun but also historical books, Why not films in the same way. I like see movies I learn something with. And i like have fun at movies but if there´s a terrible istake in a film, sorry... i don´t like. if you spend so much money doing a film How is posible that mistakes? Uncult!
if you want to see something historically accurate and learn something.... watch the discovery channel or the history channel, the fact that you look towards cinema to learn something or see something historically accurate is ridiculous... lol
Yes, sometimes. Sometimes I read a book for lear something, sometimes I read it for have fun, so? It´s wonderfull when someone do a film I learn and enjoy with. There are so many mistakes in that movies... It´s sad. But it´s posible: there are films that are fun and well done.
Perhaps a new trend in mainstream movies like 300, pathfinder, and now 10,ooobc is to completely divorse the movie from history. sure in the 1950's we had some crazy history, but these movies could have been made better by actually staying somewhat accurate.
I thought at first i wouldn't like this movie but then after i have seen it and while i was watching the movie i got into it and enoyed it after it was over. Now everyones opinion is different and it doesnt matter if a human being spends a lifetime studying movies, if they tell you its horrible... YOU be the judge NOT them, and a final thing for actors, it should not matter if the actor if famous or not as long as they are good enough to be one.
Why spend €200 million when this amount of money can pay for 20 indys with the same financial results? For the younger audience, listen and learn from the experts! These block busters are ruining the art of film making and busting budgets just so some director can have a big ego and say that he/she could produce something so huge. The modern block busters have little regard for historic accuracy or social responsibility. This is what the RG are saying why the film was bad! CG can't save film!
I don't agree with everything the Reel Geezers (RG) say but I respect their advice on what's a good film: plot, script writing, action, etc. They're usally spot on. Why pay €10 for crap? When RG ask why Hollywood appeals to males 14-35, it's food for thought, as most successful films are aimed at women and minorities and costs a fraction of what 10,000 BC costs.
Well, it sounds like crap. It's really awesome you wrote for the old school Batman; that movie has some of the most brilliant humor ever! Did you get to work with Vincent Price?
I also thought it was odd she wasn't raped but it actually made me like her captor and hope he redeemed himself in the end. I didn't mind 10,0000 BC as a mindless actioner...the mammoths and saber tooth tiger were awesome!
