I've been on risperdal for almost 3 years, I noticed overtime I went from being fairly thin to having a damn snack pack!!! In addition dramatic mood swings and loss of sleep, making me feel ALOT worse!!! I switched over to my new medication; WEED!!!!! yup, this changed my life ENTIRELY by a million!!! My advice: WEED!!! THIS IS NO JOKE!!!!!

Hi. I am on risperdal for schizophrenia and I was always skinny but now I have a bit of a pot belly. Not too bad but a bit of one. It's been a year and a few months for me and it hasn't changed so I think I'll stay on it because it's helped me with schizophrenia.

I'm 49 years old and was prescribed Risperidone (Risperdal) in January 2010 for bipolar disorder. I had to stop taking it a couple of months ago after I started developing on my left side. I have a smallish swelling now under my nipple that is tender and it hurts quite a bit from time to time. My psychiatrist has told me that it will take some time for my prolactin levels and the gynaecomastia to resolve. I just hope it happens sooner, rather than later.

I used Risperdal for about a year and it did help me for the reasons I took it. I didn't gain any weight. I did get an extremely stuffy nose for no reason and the first two weeks I was so tired and exhausted I didn't know where to put myself. My doctor didn't believe me about having a stuffy nose which was very annoying, but now that years have passed I've talked to several people who had the same issue.

I understand how you feel. I weighed 175lbs before I started taking Risperdal Consta for Bipolar I Disorder. I gained 20 lbs within 3 months of taking Risperdal Consta. I started feeling depressed because of my weight gain. I take Abilify 30 mg. I did gain 6lbs on Abilify. Abilify is a good medicine because you don't gain a lot weight.

I've been taking Invega, 6 mg, for 6 days. I had a shot of Risperdal Consta(A once every two week shot) two days afterwards(It was a Wed. when I started with Invega, and a Fri. when I took the Risperdal shot; today's Mon.). The side effects I've noticed is that it makes my mind feel cloudy; I feel a bit "out of it" in other words. That's the main side effect that I've noticed.

In addition, I feel like my reaction time is slowed -- like I'm slower in movement(and thought).

I'm so glad I found your video. I started taking Risperdal two years ago, and I gained so much weight that I hate myself. I never had body issues before, but now I can barely stand to look in the mirror.
