  • yeah you definitely need help :D

  • the only thing i would say and have noticed, if you look between seconds 7-8 as you come through you seem to straighten up and lean back slightly.. which in turn makes your body work harder to get a consistent connection.

  • one thing to note is that when you take it away from your set up, you come inside a bit.. try think that when taking it away the clubhead is in front of you. and when it reaches parallel with the ground on your backswing the shaft should point in the same direction with your feet. always been a top tip that helped me!

  • DAN SHAUGER NEW GOLF SWING AND NEW DVD IS OUT NOW 8-3-2011----INSTANT GOLF SWING-- WATCH THIS VIDEO AND YOU WILL HIT YOUR GOLF BALL STRAIGHT DOWN THE LINE NOW AND WITHOUT BACK PAIN aperfectswing.

  • the swing looks pretty good...theres no such thing as a perfect swing..you have to find your swing. with that being said the only thing I would try is to shorten up the backswing. the backswing looks on good plane but it seems like you have to reroute it because you are going back a little farther than your body wants to allow you to go. But I think you could make that swing work.

  • I agree completely with golfno1. the club is in a good position through most of the swing, just focus on taking the club back in one piece and getting a fuller shoulder turn. nice swing.

  • WIth two knees together finish, this swing would look Fabulous !! Keep hitting those balls,

  • You need to improve your posture. To get into position just stretch your neck in the direction that your cervical points, until your legs straighten. Adjust your feet then you will be in position. The key is to not actively move down into the address position. The whole process is as paradoxical as enantiodromia; but very simple at the same time. Swing back and not up also

  • come rate my 300 yard Hoooooosh!

  • Ok please do not listen to anyone else who have commented. Listen, your inconsistency comes from the rolling of the hands at the take away. This means the club head is getting ahead of ur hands, U actually need it to feel as if you hands are in front of the clubhead . A drill to cure this is to put the grip of ur club in your belly button and when takeing the club back really feel that one piece take away. Once the take away is completed, complete the backswing by only turning ur shoulders.

  • ur letting ur shoulders sag at the top. try and keep that right shoulder up higher through impact and try and turn your right shoulder over your left foot. should help.

  • there seems to be fuck all wrong there mate ! nice swing

  • i dont see a problem here

  • it looks like your hips may be getting a little ahead of your club this seems like a logical reason for inconsistansy but i am not a pro so i am not 100% sure

  • not gonna lie, you have a good swing, all i noticed was a slight little sway at the top of your swing your right shoulder fades out, also point your toes to where they face forward in a closed off stance, your feet are somewhat open here.

  • the classic block. weight on your toes at impact and hips closer to the ball(in the way) it's caused (in your case) by overswinging and losing the flex in your right knee in the backswing (the club then crosses the line at the top), otherwise you have a decent swing

  • Looking at your swing it looks like you would hook it, am i right?

if i am it's cause u squat in you set up, i had the same problem.

    Comment my swing please.

  • the problem with straightening the right knee in the backswing is that it moves the hips higher or causes a reverse pivot. when the hips are moved higher it puts a curve in your spine(assuming your head doesn't lift). the curve in the spine then restricts the hips from opening so all they can do is move towards the ball. the right leg must build up tension to the inside of the knee and foot and keep that tension all the way down until you strike the ball, this is how to keep your spine angle.

  • Yeah, it's different for different people i guess.

i've never had a problem with my left side clearing.

  • your wank

  • TBH there is only 1 thing i will say and that is ur legs are 2 bent! and u have an out 2 in swing path. but that is good!

  • dont lift up during ur downswing

  • I'm sure somebody has already said this but your body and arms are not going in the same direction through impact, so unless you time your arms and body right, your going to hit it just fine, try to make your arms and body go in the same direction, you'll hit it worse at first, but trust me it will pay off in the long run

  • in your backswing you pick your hands up

  • you have too much knee flex in your set up, you whip it inside on the takeaway and you lose your spine angle as u come into the ball, but then go back to it in the finish, try covering the ball with your right shoulder as a feel move on the downswing, and make you come to a complete finish with all your weight on the left leg, to help u do this stand taller at the ball at address!

  • 2nd swing looked better. You got through the ball and maintained your spine angle. Notice your back foot on the first swing it does not roll over as much as on the second swing. This shows that your weight is not being transfered completely into the shot. I would stand up a bit straighter. Your hands are too low your knees too bent. This will cause a flatter swing which will give you hooks as well as fades. Stand up straighter and let your weight move through the shot.

  • great swing take a look at mine thanks

  • your right hand grip is really weak move it a tad bit more to the left so that your palms are facing each other

  • You probably push, push fade or hook. It´s because you rotate your wrists on the backswing & open the club face + you come down too far from the inside. Start the backswing with your hips turning right & swing back on a straighter line without turning the wrists to the side (keep the club face square), and just cock them up. That way you'll swing down straighter (still from the inside) & won't have to use your wrists in order to square out the club face at impact. Use your hips to start down.

  • What's the problem? You look pretty good. I guess if I'm being picky I would say that you're a bit too handsy on your first move down. Don't pull the club down and in so aggressively. You should start the downswing with your hip turn and delay the shoulder turn. This will pull your hands down naturally.

  • for me the swing looks good,

you've striken the ball very good on this video,

check put my golf swing, please:):)

  • think you should be stood a little taller this will stop you dropping the club inside the line as much and stop the misses you have which are most probably a push or hook.practice and enjoy

  • I have seen a golf swing that does not look as good as yours won a professional golf tournemant ...on LPGA...RAISE the vision about your success in golf and life... and your golf will come

  • may be all you need is having more confident and patience in yourself...and let "it" (the swing or whatever you want) comes to you...in time I believe it will come...

  • good golf comes from excellent strong leg works...

  • work on your legs...you seem to "not letting go" ...especially the upper right leg...as you do the "ball hitting"...leg works is very important...you need to get it right...

  • you need to relax your back a bit more and stand firmly on your upper legs...when you backswing..you may try to pull it outside and back and let the club "glide upwards" ...using your left arm as the power...

  • ...when you backswing you may try "pushing the club head...down...out..and back.." and let the club head "glide upwards"...(please use the word "push" instead of "pull"

  • your grip is to week and you open the club face on the way backing giving you a week position at the top from there you have to manipulate the club with your hands on the way down making it hard to repeat, try taking the club back shut for a little while

  • ur backswing is messed up. U bring it back then u kinda twitch the club a little bit, makin the hit not hot

  • ugly backswing, but nice downswing move... a drill that really helps to get your backswing on plane is to swing with ur feet together - it will improve your balance and take the club straight back - and it will also teach u to maintain your spine angle - its a GREAT drill!! good luck

  • Read from bottom up... had to post 4 times as my comments were too long....

  • Practise swinging and keeping your head just touching the wall, this will give you the feeling of keeping your head in the correct position through impact. This is my own made up drill! Try it and let me know if it works. It works for me. Good Luck. - Paul J Taylor - Golf Freeks R US

  • On the back swing you stay on plane, if you look at your position after impact, half way through the follow through, the club shaft is too steep. You need to keep your head still through impact and concentrate on releasing through the ball. A good drill is to stand near a wall, take your address position without a club and rest your head on the wall.

  • You back swing is great. Coming in to impact your head moves up and back from the ball. Watch all the top players and their heads stay really still through the impact position. The reason your head moves is because your follow through swing plane is too steep. Draw a line from the ball at address up the shaft of the club.

  • Just remember to keep and good grip and not to hold the club to hard. Just let the club do the work. Nice one!

  • Jim Furyk swing looks pretty good. How does it work for you?

  • I shot 73 once with Jim Fury's swing then I procedeed to shoot 91 with his swing. Come to think of it I do the same with my swing. I just suck at this game.

  • No you must hit good with your woods, but are your irons a little inconsistent?

  • Do you mean jim furyk? DONT COPY HIS SWING!

  • Hi, could you send us a swing of how it looks today? We are interested in seeing how it has changed.

    Regards

  • keep that right knee bent on your back swing

  • watch out for the dip on your downswing.. that is what causes mis-hits/ inconsistancy.

  • You have a nice swing but there is not a lot of torque stored in your lower body as you start the move down to the ball. Did you see that picture of KJ Choi last week when he won In D.C? He crunches his abs when he starts down and you can tell that his lower half is like a bubble to pop when he reaches the ball. Tiger creates this by squatting a bit while he starts down and keeps the friction between upper and lower body.

  • u might be bending your knees too much

  • Next, you are taking it inside, but you are dropping your hands, releasing them at contact and hitting it straight. Correct, in a sense, but unconventional. If you can do this and not fan your wrist out you will be on track of hitting a powerful draw.

  • Some observations and corrections I have. First, when you are halfway through with your backswing (club parallel to the ground) you are on plain of making a nice shoulder turn, but if you stop right there and open up your right hand, it will be in the "High Five" position: fanning your wrist out. It should be in a straight shake hands position. (sorry it's too long to send the second part now, so I'll send it in another message.)

  • The person who says you need to be more upright is wrong. The reason why you bend over as you do is because you have a one-plane downswing. This is also why you reroute the club at the top; you take it back outside and above the plane and then drop it in "the slot." This is a very powerful move and is essentially what Fred Couples does.

  • very positive feedback thank you. You make a very good point about paralysis by analysis. I'm playing tomorrow and will try to keep it simple.

  • It's all a matter of feel. Just practice with this in mind; your technique isn't the problem.

  • Forget all the technical advice, as your technique is fine. If you think too much, "paralysis by analysis" sets in. Golf, like tennis (I used to teach tennis), is all about controlling the height, speed, spin and direction of the shot. To that end, all you must do is ensure that the club is moving toward the target at contact and that the clubface is square to it; that is, unless you're hitting a fade or draw. How do you accomplish this?

  • Looks good just a hitch in the swing transition. Try going to the top loaded up stopping and then swinging through. It is a pain in the ass but it will help you learn YOUR golf swing better.

    Dantastic

  • you are off balance and off key you cabbage

  • yeah i dont know anything, look at my swing and then tell me that.

  • your not pulling the club back enough, and you need to try to hold your backswing a little bit

  • i know the problem, you weren't meant to play golf.

  • You must an 18 year old punk who thinks he knows it all

  • Pants too tight.

  • Oh come on My but looks good in those :)

I've made changes I'll post next week. Thanks for all the feedback

  • i agree

  • you do alot of good things -2things -1 more upright posture you will get a smoother weight transfer-2 brace the right leg more for better impact and accuracy-good luck.

  • You seem to have a lot of head movement at the beginning of the backswing, try to feel like your head is moving back at first. Also great position at top, try not to re-route on your downswing.

  • do you have a problem with hooking the ball sometimes?

  • downswing:

ur spine has now fully changed from what it was at address, maintain the spine angle as long as possible through the shot.

    followthrough:

hands race ahead of the torso, evidence of a handsy swing rather than a rotation of the body swing. i think you can also do better with the way youshift your weight, a lot of ur weight is stil on your right foot, whereas it should be 90% at your left already.

  • backswing:

you're using your hands and arms too much; try this thought-- "maintain the V as long as possible" that is created with your arms.

    top:

your right leg has now straightened, evidence of a reverse pivot; keep that right leg flexed and ull do fine. also ur club is across the target rather than on line.

  • I changed a couple things I should re-post my new swing. I just shot 75 with a triple on 17. I had a brain fart. You make a valid point with using my hands and harms to much on this video. I was trying to place the club in the right place

  • the setup:

i think you are too crouched, with a lot of your weight on ur heels. try to give ur stance a little more height.

  • looks to wristy for me, feel more connected.. who talk this kid how to swing??? hahhaha

  • I was tought by Sergio.

  • I feel that u are also hitting behind the ball before u are making contact with it.By taking ur arms and club away and not moving ur left shoulder,it will correct this. And when you do move just ur arms you will feel the club turn over naturaly on ur back swing, its automatic and this is what will give you what u want most,CONSISTANCY,All the best.

  • I've looked at my swing and I think you're on to something, however, I don't hit behind the ball but this might help.

  • your stance and posture is great ur problem is ur back swing look at ur video and see how u take your left shoulder and club at same time.At address take arms away only, leave shoulder where it is it will follow you naturaly on your up swing

  • Did you notice i do even more on the second swing? That's what I mean by not consistent. I can't even mess up the same way. :)

  • If you get a chance look at John Daly's down swing he sticks his butt way out as he starts his down swing. this is because he knows he needs his legs to support all that weight thats about to be Torqued and twisted, same thing with Sergio. even though they swing hard. their upper body(spine angle) remains constant because of great balance during thier swing.

I could have just said relax your upper body at the top of our swing. but that would have been no fun.

    Keep it up.

  • WOW what a good point. I never realy looked at my spine angle and you're so right. I think this is going to be a big challenge to fix.

  • Down swing:

Watch your video and notice how quickly your head moves up and away from the ball during your down swing. This comes from the upper body taking over and just moving too fast for your feet and legs to allow your upper body to stay down and strong thourg impact. your feet cant support it so you pull up.

  • try and make ur swing like a clock if it goes bac at an angle it should come through at the same. Also u seam to be hitting it quite well dont really no y u need tips.

  • I always like feedback and drills I can work on. Since I made this video I've found that if I make a bigger turn (widder arc) my hands don't seem to drop inside as much and I become much more consistent.

  • I found a ton of consistancy by just standing up straighter at address. The way I see it, the less you bend the less that can go wrong. On tight fairways Im standing almost straight up. Hope it helps.

  • You make a good point. Thanks

  • Awesome swing man. Keep it up.

  • Actually, dropping the arms down is a good thing. You almost can't do it enough. Ben Hogan, Tiger Woods, and Sergio Garcia all did or do this. It becomes a problem when you do it so much that you change your spine angle. I do see spine angle change but the reason for it is not dropping to the inside. I sent you a message explaining what the reason is.

  • just an idea, but look at the top of your swing. your hands drop and come way inside to the ball.

  • How do I fix it is the key question. I played this weekend I hit the ball a ton but my swing was looking more and more like Sergio's
