Why would this be "top power metal songs ever played"? Dream Theater is Progressive metal. Their is a couple in here that are Power metal like Sonata Arctica and Avantasia etc.Excluding Iron Maiden which im not a fan of but they are standard Metal. I still dont understand why you have Anettes picture over Tarja when she is singing the Nightwish song. Dream Theater should be in the Top three also, Metropolis is a master piece and Petrucci is a god on the guitar and Labries vocal range is amazing.

Okay, maybe this isn't the most played metal songs on iTunes, but it's pretty fucking hard to tell because their isn't a "metal" section, it usually just gets lumped into either "rock" or "alternative". That being said, I find it very hard to believe that not only do you KNOW these are the most played metal songs, but that they all happen to be power metal bands, a genre that, while popular in Europe, has little to no fan base anywhere else.

The crap that is played today won't be remembered in another ten years. We still listen to Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Venom, Motorhead, even though the bands are over thirty years old. But no one ever plays a black eyed peas song from 2006 or a lady gaga song from 2008 on the radio anymore. Nowadays people don't have a wide variety of music, they just burn out 25 of the same songs every month on the radio.

And don't talk shit about Slayer, their first album was great.
