are you talking about the stadium or the video board? I'll admit that when they originally built the stadium back in the 20's, I don't think they planned for expansion. When they started expanding the endozone seats back in the 60's and 70's, that was pretty much the best solution. And it made for a very "unique" design that most people don't have a problem with, but some do. Cause it is a little odd to see the endzone seats go higher than the sideline seats.
I go to Texas and I don't like all the space the ads take up either. But, I guess you have to pay for an $8 MILLION scoreboard somehow. The damn thing has to be air conditioned so it doesn't overheat in the Texas sun, and UT had to adjust their powergrid to feed it. Take that, razorbacks.
