  • She was an exquisite creature.

  • Beautiful - thanks for helping to resurrect the incredible legacy and talent of Joan Crawford - she was the best there ever was. Just try taking your eyes off her in any moview - even her bad ones, you just can't. She is that magnetic and talented. Long live Crawford!

  • Absolutely masterful and spectacular Joan Crawford tribute. Her gentleness and strength you have captured brililiantly with some of her outstanding pictures and stills. I have watched it many times. A compliment to your talent.

  • funny how Bette Davis always had something against Joan, for what? Joan was a fan of Bette and had said she enjoyed her films and her acting,Bette was pretty much a hater. I Think she was jealous because Joan was beautifal Talented and Feminine. I like bette davis,i dont like the things she said about and things she did to Joan, Joan Crawford had said " I had no idea the hate she had for me,she really wanted me dead!"

  • @asongforxx456 Bette was jealous of Joan's beauty but that was only because, if what I have read is correct, Bette was in love with Douglas Fairbanks Jr (I think it was him), and so she was heartbroken when Joan Crawford married him. If this story is true, you can't blame Bette, any woman would have felt the same.

  • @MonroeSmile

Yes,it was Franchot Tone, but again bette had just met him in '35,when they starred together,at warner brothers,Joan had known him since 1933,at MGM where he started,so it wasnt like Joan came along and 'stole' him from bette,

  • @asongforxx456 I wasn't sure who the actor was but I knew Bette was jealous of a man Crawford had, which is understandable. Some of the things she said about Crawford were harsh, but Davis was outspoken on everyone and everything, if she didn't like Joan, she wasn't gonna lie about it. Crawford too spoke her mind if she didn't like someone, I have often read things she has said on others and thought equally harsh. Davis is actually quoted in saying she respected Crawford, but didn't like her.

  • @MonroeSmile

yes, your right,i feel like Bette's personality could be to be too Honest, wich means somewhat rude/disrespectful and arrogant,i admire her personality though, she was a strong woman,i just feel like she had alot of hate for Joan for no reasons,it is understandable her being upset over Franchot, but her facts were wrong alot of the time

  • This is a nice tribute.

  • omg great video. can you make a Bette Davis video with the same song??? please. also, LOVE THE VIDEO. :D

  • This is suberb! Excellent editing and song choice! Although not a typical Hollywood beauty her acting was brilliant. Her face carried so much expression and you really feel her pain....and that is what acting is all about, being able to move the viewer and draw them in to the story. She had big, round eyes, which ,when she opened them up could make her look a little scary but that just adds to her character imo!

  • Excellent!!

  • I love that quote from Bette Davis -- "To me, she is the personification of the movie star." -- who, from what I understand, really didn't like Joan. Talk about respect! Joan was amazing! Keep up the great work, MS. Dylan =

  • Simply Brilliant! A "Star" continues to shine brightly due to your creativity and artistry.

Well done. I know Joan would want to get Kate's "The Sensual World" in appreciation, I did it for her.

  • This tribute is an absolute winner!! Gorgeous stills and clips from every Crawford period, especially my favorite 1930-1934. Very touching and obviously made with love. Thank you so much!!!

  • Which is the clips with her face all scarred on one side?

This is a stunning tribute- brilliant song, and brilliant clips. Joan was very talented and very beautiful for a lot of her life (sometimes she had a bit too much makeup, which made her look scary, but even in Baby Jane I thought she looked lovely)

  • @ZZTopRockman Thank you very much. Those are from the film A Woman's Face. I agree, her make-up got too harsh as she grew older, although that is the case for most actresses, Joan's was more so.

  • i also cried. beautiful tribute. thank you so much.

  • JOAN CRAWFORD (1905-1977)

  • F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S ! Your collection of stills & movie clips are great. Can you just imagine the photos that have been lost from Joan's 50 year career, it bogles the mind to think of how many images will never be seen of Joan THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS WONDERFUL TRIBUTE TO JOAN !

  • I will say that this is the GREATEST JC tribute EVER!!!!!!!

  • What a breath taking tribute, I was in tears in a good way, thank you so much it's beautiful. X

  • one of the most beautiful fan video of a celeb i have ever seen. keep up the good work. :)

  • I know, I need and really want to see Possessed 1947. Only been able to see clips. Where could I get it?

  • WOW.....that was AMAZING.

  • i cried

  • @azula123321 aww haha, didn't mean to do that sorry!

  • Fantabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ONE OF THE MOST SERIOUS ACTRESS'.....DON'T EVER DOUBT HER CRAFT....ONE FOR THE RECORD

    ;)

  • One of my all time favorite actors..thanks for sharing..she was simply beautiful too!

  • Well done - so very lovely!!!

  • BRAVO !!!!

  • Very nice editing! And, a perfect soundtrack; the poignancy matches Joan's expressions. I had always thought Joan more of a movie star than an actress, but thanks to your compilation, I now realize that Joan should have been a silent screen actress. Her talent embodies all of the complexity, nuance, and prfofundity that the nascent moving pictures required and captured so timelessly. Thanks for the context where in I could experience this insight.

  • anyone who says "She cant act at all!" is a complete fool, bette davis said this about her and many people have since, its unfair

  • I'm back... I just had to comment on it again... Every time I watch it I still get a tear in my eye... fabulous, wonderful tribute.

  • this video showed the best of her

    amazing job!

i wish someone would make a video like this with actual clips and not just music.

  • This is a wonderful tribute

  • Love this video! She had so many great moments captured on film. I was wondering, the clip in which she appears to be wearing no make up and two men seem to be looking at her as the camera zooms in on her, I was wondering what film is this? The only way I can describe her in this shot of this video is "sickly". I hope you know the one I mean?

  • @actor23 Thank you very much, I believe the clip you are referring to, is from the film Possessed.

  • @actor23 Yep that's Possessed, 1947. A MUST-SEE if you're a serious Joan fan ;)

  • Wow, your creation is, in a word, dazzling. When I was in my 20s, I had the privilege of knowing Joan in her dinal years, and I can honestly tell you that she would have loved and deeply appreciated this tribute, including the song. Question: is the clip of Joan with John Gilbert from "Four Walls" or "Twelve Miles Out," and where on earth did you find it?

  • @edwardjames50 Wow thank you so much. I do hope that every actor/ actress I pay tribute to in my videos would appreciate and like what I did. The clip of Crawford with John Gilbert I took from a documentary on Crawford that was on the Special Features of my Mildred Pierce dvd. Thank you for your kind comments and viewing.

  • @edwardjames50

What on earth are her "dinal" years?

  • I understand now why she never shared scenes with Garbo in Grant Hotel - the screen would have melted from all that fierceness. Awesome job!

  • Just Beautiful, 5*****

  • I think that Davis quote was meant as more of an insult to Crawford, whom Davis considered an inferior compared to her stature as 'actress'.

  • @Messylin I thought that too, but even so, it was true, whether meant in a negative way or not, Crawford was the epitome of the movie star. Thanks for watching!! Garbo and Crawford in the same shot would have been one hell of a scene though

  • F A N T A S T I C !!!!

  • Careful and sensitive scene selections plus haunting Kate Bush soundtrack - superb job!

  • Lovely and well judged tribute!

  • Biographer Bob Thomas has said some of the best performances ever put on the screen were by Joan Crawford. This video is nothing short of a work of love demonstrating the talent and diversity of Joan Crawford. It is almost impossible to imagine motion pictures in their heyday without a memorable Joan Crawford performance. If she were alive today I think she would give an enthusiastic thumbs up to this video as a wonderful retrospective on her talent and career.

  • so well done! thank you!

  • I never get tired of seeing this video! Editing, music and Joan make everything nice and exciting. One of your best!!

  • @TheBigValley Thank you so much :) xxx

  • Great tribute video! I love the clips you chose for this, especially all the close ups of Joan's fascinating face.

  • @BianchiMedia Thank you. if you mean download it and post it as an upload, you may do that but my watermark must show and it must be obvious that you did not make it. Regards, x

  • this is fabulous! wonderful video!

  • Beautiful.... breathtaking beauty, I just love her.

  • She was so gorgeous as a young woman and so powerful as a mature lady!

  • I think Joan would love your video. It's wonderful and the music choice was superb.

  • @beyondtheforest Thank you so much, I hope she would like it if she saw

  • Oh my goodness, what a video! Stunning. I can't believe I haven't seen Mildred Pierce yet.

  • If I may ask, from what film is the clip at 2:05 ,where Joan is wearing that dark make up, and there is a cigarette in her mouth, I thought maybe it was from rain, but I've not seen that one yet, so I wanted to make sure.

    --Logan

  • @mr40sfan Yes that is from Rain.

  • i have a lump in my throat after watching this! beautiful work for a beautiful woman. rest in peace, miss crawford.

    Joan Crawford is amazing.

  • Awesome! Really fun to watch. Thank you.

  • amazing XD

  • wow, I am in awe. That was soooo good, on so many levels!

  • My goodness, that was just amazing, I was moved and inspired! A piece of work befitting the incredible movie star she was, I love how you show her fearless range as an actress. Vulnerable. Strong. Frightening. Broken. It's all here. I love this Bush track too. Well done Claudia x

  • Terrific tribute! I love the opening shot and timing with the still fades!! And 1:51, 2:07, 3:10, 3:28; the silent movie clips and close-ups were amazing! And the speeding up from 3:40 to 4:06 was beautifully directed! Claud! Your video is like a maestro pianist! You hit the right notes at the right moments! *****

  • love it... GREAT!!!

    Irene.

  • Legend. What more can be said for this larger than life personality? I am sure she will endure for many centuries. Suberb tribute.

  • Claudia this video tribute to Miss Joan Crawford 'The Star', is divine. I wish I had your talent to achieve such a nice balance of song and imagery that just moves a person to tears. What a great actress and woman was our Joan. She lived for the camera, and finally people are realizing again, how incredibly gifted she was. She was strong yet vulnerable, and oh so beautiful. Your timing is perfect here. Robbie.

  • That was a wonderful piece of work there, and very fitting for such a movie star. Loved the close up at the end.

  • Wow,absolutely stunning tribute! She was a great actress, and what a career she had,so many unforgettable performances.. love that song too!

  • Sensational! Very nice start with her best performance in Mildred Pierce!!

I am glad to find among my favorites other unforgettable movies as Grand Hotel, Possessed, The Women's Face. The music is beautiful and highlights the different Crawford' expressions! Excellent close-up!

  • I mend A woman's face 3:30
