You did it in the recorded key! Cool! "Movin fast..." is a little low. "Hold on tight" and that second to last "take it from me" can get dicey. I noticed that you went a little sharp on it. Maybe you could go higher. Most music books have the tune written a half-step higher and you could probably handle it. I have it that way as a PDF and I'll share if you'd like. That'll make "movie' fast" a little easier. I do it there and it's a ball. Still, you did a great job! Not an easy tune.

@Nostaljack Thank YOU for all of those analytical comments. When I did perform this, it was rather challenging to project such low passages in the church. There weren't any microphones that day that would suffice so, I said I would just sing it without. Every aspect you pointed out were things that I said myself. But, I learned this by ear. I would not want it scored. It would take away the essence of it personally, thanks for that tip though. :)

@Limeade04 Gotcha. I was just thinking that having it a half-step higher might put the tune in your "sweet spot." Of course, you know the tune and your ear is quite good so you don't need a sheet to sing it. I was just saying that the accompanist I work with much prefers it a half-step higher as it makes the tune much easier to play. The original key is in 6 flats - quite hard to play if you're the pianist. I just think it'd be interesting to hear the tune you do it in a slightly higher key.

This is song isn't easy to sing Brah!!! I had yet to hear someone do this song justice other than Mr. Donny Hathaway. You have a great range on your voice... Piano accompaniment was perfect. The Flute solo was a nice surprise ... You passed the "Goosebump" Test!

I love this song. I wanted my son to sing this song for Thanks Giving. He has a great voice and do those runs great. But he needs voice control and I think this is a great song for this...You have to breathe and sing from the gut.I want him to see your video just to see how you breathe and move your lips.You do sound just like Donny.
