since I did it all at the same time (intake, exhaust, 1.6RR, trans shift kit), yes there was a very noticeable improvement in performance, and responsiveness. our local dragstrip has been shut down for quite a while, so I can't report time slips. before, I couldn't break the 315-wide Sumitomo's loose, now i can get a pretty good chirp out of them before they hook up..
