Disapointing movie. I am a huge , massive , crazy fan for Rob's movies however this really just lacked a good story. All the dream scenes etc just threw away the magic from his first outing on the Halloween Franchise. Still i would say watch it to hardcore fans but be warned it is not as good as the first one.

However i have to really disagree here: This movie was probably the boldest horror flick i've seen in the last 5 years. What Zombie did with it was just such an interesting twist. It was more a character study then anything else, looking at where 4 survivors from the first film were at a year later. I loved this thing. A work of art.

@Stigmatainmypants Having seen more than just this movie from Rob, I can say that both Halloween films and The Devil's Rejects are movies that completely side with the murderer(s). In the Halloween films, many of the killer's targets are assholes by design (ex. the orderlies that raped a girl in a hallway--how the fuck does that even happen? Is everyone deaf? There's no other security?). In Rejects, the sheriff practically turns Sith and the murderers get a heroic send-off set to Freebird.

The trailer bit was pointless where Dr Loomis says" Micheal is now more evolved" You mean his wardrobe? He is coming for his sister and killing all whom he meets along the way, just like Part 1. I have not got round to watching this yet, when I first saw the trailer I was'nt shore, It was'nt so much the hoodie thing, but more the whole bits where it looked like his mother standing next to him as some sort of ghost. And then when it came out in the pictures, there was no hype about it, then I really started to smell a stinker with this movie. And then how quick it came out on DvD/BluRay was skocking and thats always a sign a movie is not that good.
Well when you say michael myers in a hoodie, youve got to put it in perspective, hes a highly wanted killer who has probably been wearing the same chlothes for years, isnt able to take a shower because hes got no house, and probably has to hid ein sewers and shit. I know its just a movie but it adds to the realism. I think Rob made a good descision on this one.

I watched the directors cut on blu-ray and oh my god the movie was one of the worst i have ever seen. It shows more of the character of Laurie and the actress that plays her is so annoying and it just makes me want to stop watching the damn film. I saw it in theaters and i enjoyed it more in theaters but still thought the movie was bad. The theatrical version isn't as bad because it doesn't show as much of laurie who is annoying as hell. and it makes u not care if michael kills her or not.

I, being 14, haven't been around for too long and really admire the late 70's and early 80's horror. I really do not get how film makers and directors feel the need to give us tons and tons of gore. We really don't need it to enjoy a horror movie, right? :O
I take the old and new ones as two different series'. I like them on there own! :D
They have different qualities that make them great on by themselves. I prefer the originals rather than the new ones; it really depends on the preference of the viewer, though, huh? xD
As for the "not wanting to see the same film over" comment, I'd actually like to.. Just from a different spectrum and differently shot and stuff.

My thing is that H2 didn't feel like a remake, nor did it feel like a Halloween movie. The idea of Micheal having a mountain man beard, and a hoodie pulled me away from his character. The trailer bit was pointless where Dr Loomis says" Micheal is now more evolved" You mean his wardrobe? He is coming for his sister and killing all whom he meets along the way, just like Part 1. I dont think its a bad thing that Rob Zombie made a retelling out of the story. Particularly Part 2, It was different

i agree that Zombie does have a style and that he does add an eerie mood, but he really doesn't get the character of Michael Myers, we don't need a back story a kid who just all of a suddenly snapped is ten times scarrier than just a kid who got bullied. Also what the hell was up with not having the mask?! How can you have a Halloween film and not have the famous mask?!

I have not got round to watching this yet, when I first saw the trailer I was'nt shore, It was'nt so much the hoodie thing, but more the whole bits where it looked like his mother standing next to him as some sort of ghost. And then when it came out in the pictures, there was no hype about it, then I really started to smell a stinker with this movie. And then how quick it came out on DvD/BluRay was skocking and thats always a sign a movie is not that good.

Well when you say michael myers in a hoodie, youve got to put it in perspective, hes a highly wanted killer who has probably been wearing the same chlothes for years, isnt able to take a shower because hes got no house, and probably has to hid ein sewers and shit. I know its just a movie but it adds to the realism. I think Rob made a good descision on this one.

Goddammit! I hated pt. 2! If you watched the first (Zombie version) Halloween and then right after it finished played pt. 2, you would get sooo angry. She didn't fuckin' "kill" Myers! The doctor"killed" him. She's walking around all bloody like she actually did something other than run away. And did you see how fucked up her friend was?! No, hell no, no, no, no! What i like about Zombie is his twisted, trippy style, cuz it creates afeeling of dread, most people expect John carpenters movie, carpenter's had miachel as pure evil, killing innocent people. In zombiesl, everyones asinner, and myers is the devil, it seems to make no sense (the horse an everything) because miachel is that fucked up, i think he looks scarier now because in the old 9one he was a lil punk, who grew into a killing machine noe he started off as a screwed up kid, whos always a meast

Guys I'm sorry, I just got done watchin the movie, and it was just plain terrible. Its overstylized, half way artsy, terrible acting, some very bad actors, bad script, and bad direction not to metion painfully weird as if he was tryin way to hard to make it more freaky than it already is. Nothing like the first one. Very, very dissapointed. I wish I could say something positive.

Rob Zombie turned Meyers into Voorhees, and ruined his unexplainable Pure evil in turn making him much less scarier. Also the girls who played Laurie played her horrible. Her and all her friends were slutty, trashy, and ennoyying. Unbearable to watch really. The lady who played Meyer's mom added a horribly cheesy, stupid, element to the story that also made it hard to watch. I guess what Im trying to say or proove is that this movie sucked! Meyers eating raw flesh was pretty cool though. :/

I watched the directors cut on blu-ray and oh my god the movie was one of the worst i have ever seen. It shows more of the character of Laurie and the actress that plays her is so annoying and it just makes me want to stop watching the damn film. I saw it in theaters and i enjoyed it more in theaters but still thought the movie was bad. The theatrical version isn't as bad because it doesn't show as much of laurie who is annoying as hell. and it makes u not care if michael kills her or not.

LOL, I kinda went through the movie and at times, I was like, "Wait.. is this Nightmare On Elm Street or Halloween?" o_o
I, being 14, haven't been around for too long and really admire the late 70's and early 80's horror. I really do not get how film makers and directors feel the need to give us tons and tons of gore. We really don't need it to enjoy a horror movie, right? :O
I take the old and new ones as two different series'. I like them on there own! :D

They have different qualities that make them great on by themselves. I prefer the originals rather than the new ones; it really depends on the preference of the viewer, though, huh? xD
As for the "not wanting to see the same film over" comment, I'd actually like to.. Just from a different spectrum and differently shot and stuff.
Cannot wait for the new aNOES... Hope it has at least SOME standing towards the original!

i just downloaded the uncut version of this film, and it kicks the other ones ass, and if i may say something here, h2 is really not a bad film, its good but with a few flaws but cmon what did u expect from rob zombie. would u feel better if michael bay doin it.
