The Father makes a very nice philosophical argument as to how we learn to have faith in God is somehow connected to how we learn to do everyday activities. What's flawed with this philosophy is that praying to a non-physical deity is different from doing physical activities, with physical individuals, which do have physical results. The only thing that might come from praying is self-comfort, which isn't bad. Although you might as well talk to your imaginary friend if you wish to seek comfort.
