  • Ça y est, j'ai la dalle.

  • Cheers to leb , walla ma fi ahsan menno

  • shattt ri2eeeeeeeee

Résistance a quoi?

  • All the best from iraq.

  • :D°

  • shahayetna ya zalame

  • mmmm ca m'ouvre l'apétit tout ca !

  • mmmmmm : ) ça a l'air trés bon

  • Tabboulli and humus is 100% lebanese, but of course the :JEWS; has too steal it too as usually, always robbing from others and prettending it's them's (LOOSERS!

  • Humous and falafel came from the Asian Indians and the Jewish tribes were the first to do trade with them, so guess where you got those two from. I don't believe anyone holds the patent on Lamb (shawarma) or on tabouli, but I'm sure you will try to claim that you invented sheep, parsley and tomatoes. Please...this argument is ridiculous.

  • hommos is 100% lebanese because indians dont use the lemon and the garlis as their pricipal source of their assesonement,

and falefel is 100% palestinian because thats the way it is ! the jews then adopt the falafel. and dont forget that falafel is an arab name meaning (enroled)

  • from food to history ethincal to poltiq... mm interestng how we lebanese switch topics..

well lebanese food and especially MEZA is pure lebanese and jews try to say tabbouli is their in israel arabs try say some our MEZA is their.. loook at me is lebanese go start ur own cuisine buzz off

  • I totally agree.

  • walla manuella aklo kteer tayyeb, ana la2et mat3am bi paris esmo diwan 3ando akel bijannen, shawarma w knefe w labne w osas, sahteen to all the lebanese

  • Ya Farahmichael... The concept of majority seems hard to be understood by your master Franjieh and the Hmar Aoun. 15 years in France did not help him to understand that majority means 1/2 votes + 1. Franjieh dosent understand that he was defeated by elections means he has no majority, May be it is hard for a Frangieh to think after all.

  • According to last elections(2005), Aoun + Hezbollah +Amal got 2/3 (not only 1/2 +1) of the votes (about 800.000 votes: 400.000 lebanese voted for Aoun's list and about 450.000 lebanese voted for Hezbollah/Amal's list). On the other hand, around 400.000 Lebanese (including neutralized Palestinians) voted for Hariri and Jumblat. So 1/3 of the Lebanese voted for the ruling government now (which means it is a minority government according to the elections).

  • Brother abougreyg,

In democracy you cannot "count" the number of votes as is, otherwise minorities will never be represented in any government in the world. Thats where the idea of house of common came. So every area, or community is represented by one member.

  • Are you saying that the 400.000 voters can rule the country as a majority and the 800.000 voters have to shut-up because the undemocratic electoral law made them a minority in the Parliament? In which country does the minority of people rule the majority? What kind of oppression is it? Totalitarianism?

  • No I am saying that in his riding, Frangieh was defeated. I read you live in Canada, would you consider the PQ government totatilarism when they formed the government and got less total votes than the Liberals?

  • Yeah in his riding, he lost. But as a representative for his Maronite Christian seat, he was first in his riding with about 85.000 Christian votes. Note that the LF also got about 85.000 Christian votes all over Lebanon. You see? LF could bring 6 Christian MPs, Frangieh got the same number of Christian votes in one riding and couldn't get 1 MP. In Canada,PQ didn't form the Government, they r the official opposition. Liberals have 76 of 125 seats, they are majority and they form the government.

  • Ya khaieh I am telling you about the 1998 election in Quebec under Bouchard, the PQ received 1,744,240 votes, the Liberals 1,771,858. Still the PQ with 76 MPs formed the Gov.

  • Why dont you go back 100 years before? :) It happened only once! The PQ had 43.55%, the PLQ had 42.87%..the difference was 0.6%..lol..do u call it majority & minority? In lebanon, the majority that is governing has only 1/3 of the votes. The minority in the opposition has 2/3 of the votes! Is this your democracy? Well, mabrouké 3leik heyk democracy.

  • Brother abougreyg II.

There are ridings where an MP represents, say, 50,000 people while in other ridings the MP will represent 120,000 people. Look what is hapening in Quebec, with a logic of mathematical counting, then Montreal will rule the province of Quebec for eternity... So you cannot count the numbers the way you did it, I am not blaming you but drawing your attention on that point.

  • I was replying on what you said: You said that the majority is the 1/2 votes +1. I told u that this formula is only applicable on the opposition (Aoun, Hezbollah, Amal) because they dont only have 1/2 of the votes +1 but the have the absolute majority (2/3 of the votes). On the other hand, the government has 1/3 of the votes so they cant rule under your formula (1/2 votes +1).

  • Abougreyg III

Speaking about our politician, first I don't beleive that 400,000 lebanese voted for Aoun, but I do beleive that he will not get 1/2 of the votes he got in 2005 after his recent behaviour. I have family members who used to swear by his name, but with him denying in front of the cameras that he has no prisoners in Syria, he lost a lot... You may or may not agree with this, but future elections will answer this. Salam

  • Even if you dont beleive and keep denying that Aoun got 400.000 of the Lebanese voters, that wont change the facts. You dont beleive a fact but you beleive (wishing is the best term) that Aoun will not get 1/2 of the votes in the next elections.(this is only your wishing). I have family members that used to curse Aoun but after he could brought Hassan Nasrallah to St-Michael church, he won a lot. Until future elections, he represents 1/3 of the population.

  • HEY ABOUGREYG!! MAN YOU MADE ME REAL REAL HUNGRY. I AM FLYING TO BEIRUT NEXT MARCH. I AM GOING TO START A VERY STRICT DIET UNTIL THEN BECAUSE AS SOON AS I AM GOING TO LAND IN BEIRUT I AM GOING TO RAID ALL THE LOVELY RESTAURANTS THERE SUCH AS MANUELLA, CHEZ MARCEL, DIWEN EL MIR, GHALAYINI etc...

    THANK YOU.

  • hehehhe..you are lucky my friend. Tzakkarna when you are there :)

  • Who cares these days! Lebanon is disappearing from the map while their people are still arguying about their identity. Besides, if you take out the syrian bastards and iranian bastards (specifically, franjieh & company, Hosballah and amal & company), Lebanon will be at his best.

  • First, we are in a democracy..u can't just take out people (more than half of the country because u said hezbollah, amal, frangieh and company) because u dont agree with them! According to what u r labeling these people as syrian and iranian bastards? (do you have facts?) 2nd: And if they are, give us some examples of how these Lebanese are not letting Lebanon to be at his best? 3rd,if you take out these people, how Lebanon will be at his best? Proove your acccusations

  • You are a complete idiot! Lebanon and The Lebanese people have a true identity. FPM + El Marada + Hezbollah + Amal = THE MAJORITY OF LEBANON! Hariri, Jumblat & Siniora puppets to the west. And as for the Syrians... The Lebanese allow them to work in Lebanon, they are the cheap labour that NO Lebanese person would do.

  • I know there's nothing wrong with being an arab, but i'd rather i'd rather put all the lebanese in the same bucket even if some of them have arab origins

we either have to say that ALL lebanese are arabs, or they ALL aren't...because it's a fact that lebanese are diffrent from arabs!

  • We cant generalize. (putting Lebanese in the same bucket means "ending Lebanon"). Lebanon is special country because it is a mix of many cultures.I am Lebanese not arab and I accept that they are Lebanese who r arabs. It seems that it would be an honour for anyone to be identified as Arab, however one cannot simply state that Lebanese are all Arabs just for the sake of it, similarly one cannot state that an entire country is Arab just because he wishes to please his neighbours.

  • ok i see you are well informed,

it's true that most of arabs are muslims, but being a muslim doesn't imply being an arab! i'll give you an example, my great grand parents were ottomans,So geneticaly speaking i'm not an arab, my mom is a shiite from iranian origin so she's not an arab either, however we're lebanese muslims...see what i mean!

  • I was trying to continue my reply to u yestderday, but my comments didnt appear.I was wondering why in your other reply u made a relation between arabs and ottomans (I thought u dont know that ottomans are not arabs, but turkish). Anyway, now u made it clear. Now I understand that you are Lebanese (it doesnt matter if muslim or christian) and not-arab (the same as me).

  • These days, u have lebanese who are iranians bastards kamein...some are syrian bastards...just a few who are good lebanese..God help Lebanon!

  • And you have lebanese who are American bastards and Israeli bastards...Some of those were syrian bastards and iranian bastards before they became american and israeli bastards and some were american and israeli bastards all the way.

  • and abougreyg your analysis don't make sense, it's as if you're saying that muslims in lebanon don't belong to lebanon, just let me give you some historical facts, lebanon was occupied by otomans--> muslims who brought islam to our region! of course islam was present in the ME, but they were the ones to reinforce it during more than 500 years of occupation! so saying that christians aren't arabs and that muslims are, is just absurd! it's either all lebanese are arabs or they all aren't

  • Which analysis r u talking about? I didn't say muslims in Leb. don't belong to Lebanon. On the contrary, I respect the shiites a lot, they are the best example to define a LEBANESE, they are dying to defend Lebanon). But does this love to Lebanon denies their Arab race? They are Lebanese but Arabs. The Lebanese Maronites are Lebanese and not Arabs because they are ethnically of Syriac roots and their historical language is Syriac.

  • First,NOT Ottamans who brought Islam to our region. By 637, ME had fallen into Arab hands(Umayyad Dynasty). Anjar archeology site is Umayyad. The victory of Islam was in 3 parts: Islam the state; Islam the religion; and Islam the language, Arabic. However, Lebanon remained a Christian island in a sea of Islam. It is in Leb that Islam the state did not govern, Islam the religion did not convert,& Islam the language did not take over from Aramaic Syriac for over a 1000 years.

  • 2nd: The mountains offered no attraction to the desert Arabs; as a result of the coastal inhabitants of Lebanon refusing to convert and moving to the mountains, the Lebanese coast was left undefended and so it became necessary for Muawiyah the Caliph, in 663, to transplant Persians and Arabians to the Lebanese coast so as to provide a measure of protection against naval incursions by the Byzantines. Are you following the facts?

  • ok, before we start to talk about being arabs or not! let's define what "being an arab" means!, if it means to speak arabic, than we all are arabs,,,i'm a lebanese muslim girl and to say the truth i don't feel i belong to the arabs as in Saudis, kuwaitis, emiratis, ( note that they all finish with "tiz"), however, i don't feel europeen either i just feel lebanese!,,,

  • I agree with you 100%. But we all know that the Arabs in general tend to define arab people as being muslims who speak arabic and this why I replied to the palestenian guy/girl who said when he/she was comparing Lebanon to Palestine: "...we are the best race of arabs on earth we live in the holy land"...so he/she dismissed that large Lebanese communities are NOT arabs.

  • My mom makes the best werek tawali.

  • That's making me Hungry :)

  • aahh naah!! that purly lebanese food! palestinean food are a bit a like.. but it all started in leb :D:D loll no worry's i love all arabic food! lol :D:D

  • um....thats such a lie it didnt start their well i dont care their are better things to debate about

  • please thats not just lebeneses im palestinean and im damn sure thats familar foods

  • You want to take our food also? lol..just kidding..If you are from the palestinean refugees in Lebanon, so you can say we have the same food :) ..but otherwise, Lebanese cuisine in unique. Anyway, don't be upset, neighbouring countries always have some similarities in food and other things.

  • well our food is obviously superior we are the best race of arabs on earth we live in the holy land

  • wtf... you cant say that chit man.. your not the best, im not sayin leb are either..btw "the best race of arabs" go hide in an other country (leb).. yaaa suure.. get a life, go read some books about it, you cant go say your the best, its just stupid, unless your god you cant judge anything like you just did..

  • I think that you are being a bit sensitive here. Every person says his/her country is the best. There is nothing wrong with abougreyg's arguments. You and I are Palestinians so we say Palestine is the best. AbouGreyg is Lebanese so he is proud of his country and identity and says it is the best. So is the American, English and other nations. There is nothing about this in my personal opinion.

  • Who said Lebanese are Arabs? Some of them are Arabs for sure (especially our Muslim brothers) but the other part of the Lebanese (the Christians are not Arabs). We speak Arabic, but we are not Arabs. We live with our Arab neighbours and we respect their culture, but we have our culture.Note that Lebanon,16 years ago before TAEF,was not an Arab state. Remember,Christianity existed before Islam in the ME so for sure Christian Lebanese are not Arabs.

  • all the lebanese are arab and that's a fact my friend

  • not all lebanese are arabs.... true.

but its not only the christians that aren't arab.

by the way, some christians are arab.

and wats wrong with being arab??

  • Who are those others than Lebanese Christians (the Maronites, particularly) that are not Arabs?(just for information). And nothing wrong with being Arab, but nothing wrong also with being Lebanese not Arab.

  • THank you !! Love Lebanon .. cool.. more needed ;-)

  • please post more about lebanon.long live lebanon and its people. we love this country and always will. Regards from me in the USA to Lebanon

  • Bi 2amrik/amrak! I will try to post more videos. I have many but not too much time to upload them. Zouba, are you Lebanese? did you visit Lebanon before? Take care!

  • Berdawni river...I love that place. I have spent many hours there...Ohh..I'm really home sick now!!! :0(

  • This is what I want to do most when I go back to Lebanon. I want to spend all my time in the villages, mountains et au bord des rivières. I am sick of the city, I need some Kadisha Valley, some Berdawni, some Byblos, some Baalbeck, some Sannine, some southern villages (where I come from) and little bit of Beirut...I lived all my life in Beirut and unfortunately didn't visit a lot of Lebanese mountains.

  • viva arabic

  • it's true.. I didn't mean any disrespect, just most arabs here are lebanese, I know it's not just their cuisine/culture!

  • yeah well thats what should unify the mid east

  • MMM 'Zahtarr', 'Falefal', 'Tabouli'..I love our food..It is one of the most healthiest Cuisines I know!! I have eaten in many corners of the world...It beats Macas any day!!!

  • mmmm..very tasty indeed, especially the appetizers. Even if I eat a lot of Lebanese food here in Canada, I still miss under-the-tree-near-the-river lunches with a "kess arak"..allahhhhh....yalla let's go to the Berdawni river :)

  • Thank you!! I couldn't have said it better myself!
