Paul Meany is an awsome musician and an even better worship leader...i remember when he lead worship at Victory Fellowship fyi(my church)and it was abosolutly wonderful im happy hes doin great doin alternative but i just hope he doesn't forget who gave him that gift for music...WE LOVE U PAUL!!!<3 and we're praying for u....
I don't think he renounced his faith in God, but maybe with what the church has become in the past 17 centuries...? Because some of us feel the same way but we still have unwavering confidence in Christ and the work of the cross.
I hope he does come back as well along with the rest of the band if they are having any doubts. But listening to their songs you realize that even though they may not want to be considered christians, their lyrics are still inspirational God has never left them and never will
@theassassin43 - what interview did you read this in? I know he was fighting the record label from pigeon-holing them as a "Christian" band, but so what? They are just trying to keep their avenues open to be able to reach a broader crowd of people.
Everyone needs to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. Let's keep these guys on the frontlines in prayer and let God make the judgement.
@theassassin43 Judging from the lyrics from MuteMath's recent album it seems that his faith's slipped...where is this interview you read about him outright renouncing his faith though?
@abbyinertia Nah, I dont think he ever renounced anything. The lyrics i assume youre talking about are prolly from "blood pressure" and the only thing they were talking about in that song was how "religion" can require you to do so many unnecessary things until it all builds and eventually explodes, kinda like blood pressure.
At least thats what darren said in an interview i read :)
@aaoredola No I'm not talking about Blood Pressure I posted my comment well before Blood Pressure or anything from their new album existed for that matter. I was talking about Armistice. Anyhow, living for God in the purest form (no man made religion stamped to it) never requires unnecessary things; and it shouldn't make you feel like your blood pressure is going through the roof. If we're drawing on our own strength you'll burn out fast, but drawing on God is what makes all the difference :)
is there a studio version of this floating around?

Well since Mute Math started in 2003, and this song is 2009. I say that we may still be seeing Paul singing songs just like this.

Too bad Paul isn't really a Christian anymore. Basically renounced his faith in an interview I read. :/ I hope and pray he comes back.
