Bangkok not small like this video, large city, skylines are many zone, still have many new project each year. compare to other city almost stable, except city in China.
@aryoseno11 Jakarta is in Indonesia. Kuala Lumpur is in Malaysia. Guangzhou is in the Guangdong province of China. You don't know where Paris is? It's the capital of France you silly goose. Rotterdam is in the Netherlands. If you need to know where any other cities are, feel free to ask. I'm good at geography.
why this video not including kuala lumpur also?many skyline in kl such as petronas twin tour and kl tower...the two skyline was ranked in 1st before..BANGKOK,SEOUL,SAO PAOLO is suck...
Although NY is my favorite American city, I must admit Chicago has the prettiest skyline in U.S.A. It's nicely situated and flows nicely. Those dissing NY should remember NY is a much older city with much greater concertration of space with 2-1/2 X's the population with nowhere to go but up. This is why Chicago's skyline is more noticeable, because it's not overladen with too much! Old style Wrigley and Tribune Tower vs. modern day Trump on Chicago River. Nice old/new design! NYC-2 dist. areas.
All of the other list I have seen has shanghai in the top 4 well ahead of Seoul, Sao Paulo and Singapore. How did you compile this list? Seoul and Sao Paulo is not even close to Shanghai.
I dont know if I'd say Seoul, Tokyo and Sao Paulo have great skylines....Amazingly dramatic when looking at the sheer size of their sprawl, yes, but skyline worthy? A lot of those buildings are just commie blocks and rental apartment buildings. I mean, if you didnt tell me i was looking at Seoul, i would not have been able to distinguish that between any other large east asian city. There is nothing iconic or postcard worthy that jumps out at me about those 3 cities, just amazingly high density.
@mariusbleek I totally agree with your assessment. Even though the sheer sprawl of Sao Paulo is indeed impressive, as is LA, there is no real discernable nucleus of Office tower downtown district. Sao Paulo, like Seoul and Tokyo are basically endless condo/apt blocks. Asia-HK and Pudong Shanghai are impressive, but because they are much newer, don't have the character of early American 20th Century designs like NY Municipal/U.S.Courthouse, Chrysler, Empire State or Chicago's Tribune Tower.
Dubai looks cool, but I don't understand why you put in Bangkok, San Paulo, and Seoul. They looked pretty boring. What about Las Vegas? You've got these incredible buildings popping out of the desert. What about London?
London is a powerful city and famous for it's world's financial capital, economy, business management, finance, politics, media, research and development, accessibility, education, ecology and natural environment, great history, architectures, arts and culture, entertainment, sports footballs for example, fashion, black cabs and taxi drivers, red double-decker buses, world's 1st underground which is the oldest, longest and the deepest so London is not famous for it's skyscrapers.
umm... i believe that impact has little to do with height.. (w/ the exception of the Burj Dubai) impact has to do with the WOAH feeling you get when you look at the silouette of the skyline at sunset.
Everyone who likes cities will have their own subjective list. That's the reason I took the official Emporis list as a base, their criteria makes sense, don't you think?
Too many factors involved to say what the greatest are. The type of building you count, how they are spaced and the height of the buildings counted. Example; Hong Kong has many more high-rise buildings then NYC, But NYC has more skyscrapers. There is a difference, a skyscraper is generally any building over 500 feet, a high-rise is less. Dubai has many skyscrapers that are now over 500 feet but they are spread out over a large. Any city in the top 5 or even 10 becomes subjective....Sao Paulo?!?!

it's so pathetic that Dubai kept borrowing money from other countries to build those skyscrappers and have gone bankruptcy however...
