I used to think maybe Chris got his amazing chops from his hair like Samson or something... but it looks like that isn't the case. Musicians never have done well with nazarite vows anyhow.
This guy is not just a stellar musician , he's also a genuinely nice person .A year or so ago he played a weeknight in SF Ca. Aftter the show he was around to hawk his new CD and talk up the fans .I told him about my little radio show in Sonoma Ca .It's unpaid situation , but I have a lot of fun with it .I knew he had a day off between SF and Santa Rosa which was the night of my show . Asked if he wanted talk on air .He drove in the rain and spent over an hour to tell stories .Just a great guy .
I Love how Chris plays with every cell in his body, Never seen him without 20 lbs of hair, good to know he doesn't need that to play, I could listen to this all day !
thanks my friend Boo for showing Chris to me around 5 years back, man was I ever missing something!
Just phantastic. Excellent work . Maybe vor now, he isn't yet the best guitarplayer in the world, but he will become it, I am almost sure. Great job! Lovely song, it leaves me breathless.
I saw Chris in Gent (Belgium) in the early 90's. Sounded very SRV at the time (bought "texas Sugar" the week after .
With this video i see he's found a very own identity - very energetic and crossing from blues to jazz to funk.... Sounds great!
Not a big fan of the chorus thoug. I prefer a pure strat tone - although it would be interesting to hear what some parts would sound like when played on a Gibson es 335 .....
@barrysfriens you know Chris has always been a big jazz guy, but the rhythm hes got determines how he plays. if you catch what im saying. Chris Burroughs the drummer just left the band and i bet Chris will go back to his rock n' roll and blues. Lets hope not though!
Wow! Chris?! Oh -- it IS you ! Sorry,,,,,,,! It's just that over the last 20 years or so that I have known you -- I have never seen you with your hair that short.... Looks good though........... And you are still making me sick the way you maul that poor ol' strat......... Happy New Year! Blessings, Marc
