  • Nice 20 incher, nice complement to the 16 inch carbines. You inspired me to show my 20 inch Bushmaster

  • $1,200.00 - im saving for it now - droools....

  • I Have an Armalite 15A4TN, the target/varmint stainless version. Added a Leupold on a Rock River scope mount. To quote another very famous on line gear review guy..."Luv it, it rocks!" The thing is a tack driver as yours and the fit and finish is awesome! Armalite has a couple of products I wish I could see reviews on, one is their dedicated 22, an aluminum 22 upper on a mil spec lower..was going to buy a Sig 522..but now want to learn about the new Armalite...

  • @Scootch00, I want to get an Armalite AR-15, now my problem, I live in Europe, and the USA doesn`t allow the expot of AR-15s, is there really now way to get one? I didn`t talt to my gunsmith about that now.

  • Great video. I've owned an Armalite AR-10A4 SPR since 2003 and an Armalite M-15A4 SPR Upper for my Bushmaster lower since 2005. Both are very reliable and extremely accurate. Highly recommended!

  • the scope looks like a super sniper from swfa

  • Armalite is the ONLY company that can legally call thier rifles an AR-15 or an AR-10 due to the fact that Gene Stoner patented the name when he invented the weapon. So, every other AR style rifle is just an imitation. I love my Armalite AR-10A4-SPR in 7.62X51 (.308Win) it is a real tack driver and very soft recoiling. The quality is very evident compared to the other AR styled rifles I have tried. Armalite has them all beat hands down.

  • @cavscout62 Actually Armalite is on of the few companies that don't use AR in their name because they sold the rights to Colt years ago, thats why they use M15 (military 15),

but Armalite did design, develop and in my opinion perfect the overall AR design,

I feel that Armalite AR's are a little tighter and better built than other companies models....

  • I thought AR15 stood for "Assault Rifle 15" or "Automatic Rifle 15" because they eventually became the m16a1 assault rifle.

  • Good video!

  • Nice video of a geat rifle. The new Armalite company is a worthy successor to the old and a much more customer oriented company.

  • Is 5.56mm effective at long ranges?

  • @saari09 good enough. My Armalite is similar to this one but just the 16" barrel so on top of sooch here, I can attest to Armalite's AMAZING quality. As for the round, I use mine to coyote hunt and have dropped 'em dead at 500ish yards no problem. Target wise they can go farther but I don't personally trust how much power the round losses, although I've heard from people that I hunt with occasionally that a 700 yrd shot is do-able but they're likely over exaggerating a lot.

  • you are both jerking the trigger and also not breathing properly. or is it the scope?

  • That is a sweet looking piece. 20" HBar etc. scope is an off brand however more than most shooters would ever need! Thanks Sootch

  • I like the green on the rifle too. Great looking rifle, have fun shooting it sootch!

  • another great video. Thanks!

  • i will stick with a bolt gun. i just like their look more.

  • the 5.56mm dose'nt have enough stopping power whith 1 shot the m16 uses this type of emingition if the m16 will use 6.8mm remington SPC, 7.62mm will have enough power.

  • Great video

Thank you for all your information you share

  • Umm nice vid there, I had actually to do little research on this one =) but I was thinking here that is it anyway possible for you or anyone (like from TNP or so) in US to get hands on HK 416 / 417 ? I know they cost alot and bit more, but Its a darn shame that there aint alot of decent vids/ppls using it and actually talking about it.

  • @UseAndGo

You want a HK416? Only semi auto one you can get is a MR556a1 by H&K, a almost exact copy of the 416 and made by H&K for civilian/law enforcement, really well made but heavy compared to DI type ar15s and even a lot of other piston guns (ive got one at my work new in box for 2700 bucks !!)

  • Sootch, you're a great youtuber. Would love to do a video with you sometime.

  • Hey Don what are your plans for Thursday...Might could twist an arm for some shooting...God bless...

  • The scope looks like its a swfa super sniper

  • So...can you shoot your mosin nagant so much that when it gets hot that he accuracy suffers? I ask this because I noticed after a several rounds, my rounds were all over the place no matter what I did. I attributed it to using different ammo and the lack of proper bedding.

  • WILL THE SCOPE WORK ON MY BLCTD X-CALLABERTO SEMI AUTO-KRANCOR BUCK SHOT? OR WILL I HAVE TO PUT A DONK ON IT?!?

  • I dig that you are having fun with the zombie fad!

  • You better bring this AR the next time we get to the range!

  • I'm addicted to Sootch! Let's all his viewers start a fund so he can quit his day job and make one vid a day!

  • a gude raund is 6.8 mm remington SPC and 7.62mm

  • @pizzacrazy1000 Do you mean a [good round] and why do you say that the M-16 sucks...God bless...

  • the m15 and the m16 suck

  • now you will have to make a zombiewatch treehut also :),

im enjoying your videos keep them going.

    best wishes from sweden

  • Interesting AR...Nice Job!

  • Just an FYI: You have your bipod on backwards. If you flip it around you will be able to load your bipod without it folding up on you.

  • Man o man, this is one beautiful rifle sootch! :)

  • 20" barrels with a full length medium contor are the standard in the U.S.M.C. for a reason. Greater accuracy for longer ranges as well as sustained fire.

  • looks like a fun varminter

  • OMG can You order a gun in USA by UPS?

  • @cieslachaosu

It gets sent to a gun store you choose, then you go and pick it up.

  • @cieslachaosu yes. You may not be aware of this, but Gun Stores are all over the country. Ammo and Guns have to get to the stores somehow. I prefer Fed Ex myself for shipping firearms.

  • Jesus that rifle is huge

  • I met a girl named armalite just acouple of days ago... (Her parents must be a big fan of AR's XD )

  • @SugarFreeTargets Her parents must be Stoners XD

  • Hey sootch, how is the quality of an Armalite AR-15 compared to Colt, S&W, or Sabre Defense brand?

  • as soon as i seen it was 556 i clicked out... im not even interested unless it was atleast a 308

  • Thanks for the tips!

  • that is a sexy rifle

  • Sootch00, Also double check Armalite's gas key - they tend to be lightly staked. It's not as bad as Bushmaster, but Armalite's staking by no means meets mil spec compared the staking on Colt's. Armalite doesn't displace enough gas key metal to sufficiently prevent backout over time. Armalite offers a great warranty and will re-staking them or you can do it yourself using a MOACKS tool. Another option to increase reliability would be simply to replace the AR15 bcg w/ a Bravo Company M16 bcg.

  • Hey Sootch, how do you like using the harris bipod on the front flipped around to fold backwards? On my M700 it doesn't work. Better on the ar?

  • Sootch00 Armalite's clamped gas blocks are known to loosen up over time. Personally, I'd replace that gas block w/ a MI folding front sight tower style gas block / front sight combo. It uses 3 sets screws so it's a bit more secure, but I would also have a gunsmith pin it to the barrel as per mil spec. It won't loosen if screwed + pinned correctly. A loose gas block will cause too much gas leakage, that will result in short stroking / cycling, causing reliability issues.

  • nice rifle, i love all ARs.

  • hey sootch, or anyone willing to answer. I would like to buy an ACOG that mounts on my A2 carry handle. I would love to have a Trijicon but its is too high in price for my budget. What other ACOG's besides trijicon do you recommend that aren't so expensive?

    Thanks

  • @xnickbox Only Trijicon makes the ACOG which stands for Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight. There is no "other ACOG's". Other companies produce cheap knockoffs that are garbage like NC Star. The least expensive Trijicon ACOG for the A2 is the original TA01 model which doesn't use the fiber optic daytime illumination, only tritium for nighttime reticle illumination. It's a great optic and typically costs $750.00, which is very affordable compared to the newer versions. Save your money and buy it.

  • @Everett07630 Thank you

  • You gotta put a light barebones free float tube on her she's begging for it Sootch00 good vid.

  • Very nice! I like the green furniture.

  • I believe that is a SWFA Super Sniper scope. Decent scope for the money.

  • Sootch is here to do one thing and one thing only.......killin zombies.

  • Looks like a Miculek or a Miculek variant muzzle brake. Tops in recoil reduction....loud as hell. I Muzzle brake all my Ar's so I never lose the sight picture with my longer scopes.

  • SOOTCH I JUST FXCKIN SHXT MY PANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dang, Sootch. Every time I watch your videos I feel the sudden urge to go buy stuff.

You're the best gun reviewer/most fun to watch on youtube. Hands down.

  • My uncle has a midlength Amalite. That thing is loud due to the compensator lol. It blows off my hat sometimes when I was shooting next to him. Good times lol.

  • it would be more accurate it it was a freefloat

  • hey sootch! loved the video. one thing i would love to see sometime is a vid on your personal collection, that would be awesome

  • Scootch welcome to the Armalite M15 family.

  • I love ARMALITE! Scootch you have yourself a nice rifle Armalite makes a good rifle. And I have had mine for 2 years and no problems. My rifle takes wolf ammo really well and all others that I have tried like Remington, Winchester, and American Eagle tracer rounds.(64grain) The B.C.G on mine is properly staked and proper extraction black ring for proper function. I had no problems with play with the upper reciever. ( You'll love that about Armalite)!

  • Hey Don, is that a loaner rifle or another purchase added to the collection :-) I need to get another rifle, just have the one AR15 and Mosin.

  • @georgiacatweazle It's mine. I bought it last weekend at a Gun Show. I keep setting it on the Kitchen table so I can look at it... my wife will be glad when I'm use to having it around : ) Thanks~

  • @sootch00 our wives would be very good friends!

  • @sootch00 i am the same way with my AR its funny you said that about it being on the kitchen table mine is sitting there as we speak!

  • @georgiacatweazle Check out the AR-15 in 338 Lapua.

  • BTW thanks to you I now own the beast and the Frank Bowie! ( just ordered another one) Nice rifle i use to shot with a guy who had a Ar10, great gun too. Does yours have a float tube? I have a custom Compass Lake AR15 accurized w/ a Krieger 1.7 twist and matching bolt, I plan on doing a video when I change out the parts from A2 to an A4 config

  • u cant co-witness with that kinda optic sooch.

  • Huh! I thought 'AR' stood for 'automatic rifle'.

  • @EquipaPatriot OR ASSAULT RIFLE most think.........but sootch is correct....ARMALITE

  • Nice looking AR15 . benefit of a 5.56 over the 308 rifle is weight, and amount of ammo being able to be carried, besides that i would go with the 7.62 caliber .

  • @sootch00 Hey sootch, do you have to have a certain/special license to own or purchase an AR-15? ~Thanks

  • Hey sootch great job brother. Your an AR guy correct.. I am as well!!

  • I have noticed that a lot of folks talk about their "Rock River", "DPMS", "Colt", "Smith and Wesson" and "Bushmaster" 5.56's. When I was out looking for a 5.56 I decided to go with the Armalite. It is a quality weapon.

  • So, how does this differ from an AR15?

  • @criticaboutvids i wonder too...it looks exactly like an AR...

  • I have an Armalite M4 flat top with a 16 inch crome lined barrel in 5.56. Great lttle rifle. I also have a Remington 700 in a .308. Both are very good for the application which they are needed for. Good vid sootch.

  • DADDY LIKES...

  • You considered going for a bigger cartridge sniper like the 7.62 SR25 Sootch?

  • That cheek piece resembles a blackhawk I have. Nice video and rifle scotch.

  • Thanks Sootch! I always learn a little more from each one of your videos. Greatly appreciate the information you put out. Happy Shooting!

  • Now that is one sweet looking rifle. The green and black looks so cool. I imagine that is one fun gun to shoot. Great video! Also, good information on twist rate and barrel lengths.

  • THATS TEH M16 OFF BLACK OPS SILLY :D

  • @traceradam Idiot

  • @traceradam i really hope that's sarcasm....

  • @TapRackBoom no

  • @traceradam The m16 off of blackops isnt even a Vietnam Era m16. M16s didnt get their three-round burst capability until the A2 series from the early 80's. There was no green furnature available to the troops in Nam either. Call of Duty (almost any game) Puts false information into kids minds, most of the time they make up a stupid name to make it sound 'cooler' and they probably get their information about the weapons from Wikipedia.

  • As a US Marine shooting at 500 yards without iron sights was a cake walk for most of us.I can imagine that with a scope you would be able to really tighten up your groups or even extend the range that you could reach out and touch someone.

  • Nice weapon

  • Thats a really nice rifle sootch!! Great vid man I am planing to buy my first rifle soon so thanks for the info!! Take care God bless!!!

  • Ohhhh whew this for killin Zombies....not Ohisians!!!!

  • i would try to get a 3lb. trigger

  • Im suprised you got chrome lined instead of stainless steel

  • Great review!

  • Man that's sweet... I would prefer it in .308 though.

  • @frankylovesyall Yes, 308 is superior in long range scenerios but this is specifically about the M15 in 5.56. With the current discussion, maybe a video on calibers and what they are best suited for would be in order. Thanks

  • Im not impressed with the Armalite SPR I think DPMS offers better alternatives.

  • I only believe you can call a rifle a sniper rifle, if the person behind the rifle is a sniper.

  • @AmericaStandsStrong1 A race car is still a race car without the driver.... even if an average driver is driving it. Just saying.

  • @sootch00 what he means is that only a professional of his profession can make the Rifle or the race car good..

if you give an civilist, who never shot a rifle , a gun... he would shoot bad! period

if you give a professional soldier , for example a Delta Force specialist, a gun, who would do more

    same with a racing car...

  • Zombies in the tags haha!

  • Would love a few shots with that! great vid man enjoyed that!

  • I would honestly like to see a review on a m1a >_>

  • Comment removed

  • Your endings always crack me up brother! Hahahaaa! Oh yeah...one sweet little tac driver for sure. I've got my eye on a .338 Lapua = ) Did ya see the russian blow up that shit house? Hahahahaa! great video Sootch. I learn a great deal just watching your videos. Thanks again pal. Long Live The Republic. ~Wolf

  • I like how it says "Zombies" in the tags ;-)

  • Very nice! How much are they?

  • @sootch00 The scope looks like an early Tasco Super Sniper 10x42 with the adjustable parralax on a ring on the eye piece. I have a later model with the adjustable parralax on a 3rd side turret. Also the lenses have a dark green coating. Good bits of kit.

    ATB

    Friz

  • I've heard that opening song on a naughty video once.

  • Im pretty sure the AR in AR15 stands for Armalite Rifle.

  • I have always like the concept of the SPR, but 5.56 mm NATO can only go so far & still have any type of knock down power. That is why I have a LMT MWS 308 rifle to handle that. Scootch, wouldn't you want to remove that "Riser" so the scope can be closer to the bore? I was told that by a Army Sniper when I set up my rifle. Or maybe your scope rings are not high & the "Objective" of the scope touches the hand guards? I would suggest to free float the barrel too. Why is your bi-pod on backwards?

  • The Daniel Defense 12" Lite rail is actually lighter than a set of A2 hand guards.

  • Awesome sauce!

  • Isnt the 7.62nato a better long range caliber??

  • @ben2002100 it kinda depends on what your shooting at, for living targets, definitely 7.62x51, but just for target shooting, either will work.

  • @ben2002100 Sure the 308 is superior, but this is about this specific rifle and caliber,

  • @ben2002100 You asked, "Isnt the 7.62nato a better long range caliber??" Yes, and there are calibers superior to the 7.62 for long-range work. WTF??? Your question is equivalent to asking if a hammer is superior to a screwdriver. The rifle being reviewed here is a weapons system based on the Armalite platform that pushes the potential of the 5.56 round.

  • I had no idea what the AR stood for all these years. Thanks for the info Sootch00.

  • I wouldn't call the SPR a sniper rifle. It's actually classified as a SDM or DMR, designated marksman rifle. Maybe light sniper?

  • Needs some BUIS! Great vid. :P

  • Great vid Sootch! Are you getting any rain from that hurricane?

  • @usmale9112001 Thanks brother. We're not being effected here by Irene but praying for those in the storm. Take care~

  • Too many damn patriots!

  • You obviously know this but the sling-pull-accuracy issue isn't there if you go with a free-float tube. There are options that compare favorably in weight to M4 double heat-shield handguards but you'll certainly pay more. To me, it's an investment in my rifle that helps persuade me to practice more.

  • Nice zombie rifle D.

  • @frankylovesyall Yea, 5.56 is a great man stopper out to 300 yrds but anything past that I want a .308, .

  • @sootch00 That shirt is awesome! Where can I find one?

  • thanks, finally I understood the difference between .223 and 5.56 :-)

  • @frankylovesyall That is a good question, however for many, it ultimately comes down to cost. You can shoot .223/5.56 NATO quite cheaply, but when you go to .308, the cost start to really go up. I personally have a Browning x-bolt in .270 WIN. I love it, and it shoots sub MOA groups, however I pay roughly $25 for a box of quality ammo. I also have an sks, which is not a superior gun in terms of accuracy, but I only pay $5 per box, and can therefore shoot and practice all day.

  • another amazing review!! keep 'em coming!

  • Snipers would never use .5.56. .308 and above.

  • @SocomElite187 well in the end it depends on your needs and situation.A rifle like this would be great for combat sniping where you're in close with your squad and moving through an urban area and might need the semi-auto fire for quick follow ups ; plus most combat in urban areas often occur within a 200m radius. Anything where you are out in open and have more opportunities for long shots then yeah .308 is a better choice.

  • @deadfan666 You make the point well about it being a designated marksman's rifle. I'd point out that with the ammunition available today, the good, 77gr Black Hills stuff, you can get way past 200m with a good rifle such as this, less-than-ideal weather and a practiced hand and be effective enough.

  • its not free floated its not a match barrel is it?

1 in 8 also is good

  • in fact, not probably, I already ordered it ++ lol

  • Its as precision rifle NOT ''sniper rifle'' ... well unless you are a ''sniper''..

  • I have that same damn rifle. I put the Magpul rifle length hand rail on it.

  • nice rifle and good review. i do believe however that your bipod is on backwards. is there any specia reason why you did it that way?

  • NICE!!
