For all you n00bs out there, the fire can't go into the can and make it explode, that's nothing more than an urban legend. Fire needs oxygen to burn, and there's no oxygen in the can, only the aerosol/propellant that's forcing the flammable fluid out. No oxygen = no fire. Otherwise, people using blowtorches would be dying on a frequent basis, using your stove would result in your house blowing up, and driving your car would be a deadly habit.
I would laugh if it has gone back inside the bottle and blown his hand off. Although it wouldn't be on YouTube then. Always keep the can a distance away from the flame so you can see if the fire is moving backwards! Or you could just not do it, but who's that boring?

I've played with OFF cans and fire all my life. Fire never goes back inside the can. Inside the nozzle there's an absense of oxygen, one of the three components of the fire triangle. Fuel, Heat, OXYGEN!

Well the top would fly off and hit you in the face, can might burn you as well;I know somebody who used to throw aerosols on fires for a joke and when it exploded he got hit by the flying top of an aerosol and the body of the can flew sideways NOT RECOMMENDED.
Also there is a double danger because newer domestic aerosols nowadays use LPG for propellants, and this is fatal when ignited. LPG in aerosol propellant is highly flammable and can cause serious explosion risk/fires/burns if misused in this way in aerosols.
This is dangerous;what if there was a fault with the aerosol and the contents ignited or caught fire inside the can? At worst it would have either exploded with catastrophic consequnces (burns to the face from the flying red hot metal top exploding off in the explosion and a huge fireball singeing or burning the hair or face or both)or at best it would merely have caused serious burns and injury to the person doing it.
The real idiots are the ones posting comments that the can will explode. They make it sound like they are some sort of expert. The can will NOT explode. Tha basic laws of physics don't allow it. Wait till you at least get out high school before pretending to be an expert.
The fire can't "get in" the can. In order for it to do so there would have to be an oxidizer inside the can. Companies don't do that. Considering non-negligible concentration and the pressures present in spray cans spontaneous ignition is a very real problem.
I actually tested it several years ago. I rigged up bar to the button down on a can of hair spray so I could get some distance. I was disappointed when nothing happened. :(

Also there is a double danger because newer domestic aerosols nowadays use LPG for propellants, and this is fatal when ignited. LPG in aerosol propellant is highly flammable and can cause serious explosion risk/fires/burns if misused in this way in aerosols.

This is dangerous;what if there was a fault with the aerosol and the contents ignited or caught fire inside the can? At worst it would have either exploded with catastrophic consequnces (burns to the face from the flying red hot metal top exploding off in the explosion and a huge fireball singeing or burning the hair or face or both)or at best it would merely have caused serious burns and injury to the person doing it.

The fire can't "get in" the can. In order for it to do so there would have to be an oxidizer inside the can. Companies don't do that. Considering non-negligible concentration and the pressures present in spray cans spontaneous ignition is a very real problem.
I actually tested it several years ago. I rigged up bar to the button down on a can of hair spray so I could get some distance. I was disappointed when nothing happened. :(
