Seagal has a penchant for re-living his fantasy-version of real-life events, which in reality didn't go the way he wanted.
In Japan, he claims that he "beat up the Yakuza mafia," but it was a LIE.
Likewise in "On Deadly Ground" he gets out of a chokehold by grabbing the guy's balls, when in real life Seagal ended up passed out and pissing and shitting his pants from a choke-hold!
So we see that REAL LIFE happened A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT from the way Seagal writes in his films!
Seagal has CLAIMED that he beat up Yakuza thugs in real life; but in reality his ex-wife Miyako Fujitani said "it's a lie; he yelled at some drunks to get away from the place, but he didn't fight anyone."
I don't know, I expected this to be a joke, but it actually looks pretty awesome LOL. I don't know about a double doing the fights either, because at least half the time I can see his face as he's doing the stuff... I'd watch this...
It's funny that Kuroda fights againts Seagal with Katana:D Why the hell? He's never used one. He says before that fights are not made with skill and with blades. It's amazing that he can hold on even that long againts Seagal if he's never used Katana.
@8bobthebuilder Yeah he gave mercy to him but not everyone else in his later movies xD they weren't ready too much either but he was still beating them.
@thrasher123 STFU, Into The Sun had a limited theatrical run. The cinematography was beautiful (especially the park scenes). Also, the city scenes were good. Seagal kicks ass in this movie Into The Sun!!!
@BklynBryan But he wasn't so good in the real life version, vs Van Damme, which I like to call "Out the Door," because that's exactly where this fat fucking cocksucker ran when Van Damme offered him the chance to put his money where his flabby mouth is.
btw Segal speaks excellent Japanese. I know he's spent a lot of time in Japan while training Aikido and other MA's, but still he's got perfect pronounciation.
Into The Sun was NOT a Direct to Video film! It had a theatrical release in Japan. The DVD quality is AWESOME and it looks like an actual film and NOT some cheap DTV movie! As far as the plot, Into The Sun is NOT the typical Seagal movie either! He speaks Japanese and the ACTION is scattered throughout, but its adequate. The cinematography is really beautiful (especially the park scenes).
@limahl123123 Yes, the flick Glimmer Man at the end...he gets punched in the face by the arch nemesis. Nose bleeds and he says, "Is that all you got?" hahahahahahahaa. so bad.
@thrasher123 Don't forget Under Siege 2 when he's fighting the antagonist near the end of the movie. Seagal beats him up and the guy falls to the ground. Seagal then tries to break the guys leg while he's on the ground the antagonist kicks Seagal in the face making him fall down lol.
@limahl123123 and in under siege 1 he gets hit by hook or something wile he is in the water by the sub at the end, think it hit his sholder, but it didnt get to his abylliti at all :)
@limahl123123 He rarely gets hit in the films because his fighting style is based on defense. It supposed to be demonstrations of perfectly executed Aikido. If someone is a master at defense, they won't get hit :)
@limahl123123 ill be honest from what he teaches its near impossible to be hit if you use the technique right you can block stop and flng your opponent with ease just like steven
@chevygearhead454 as an actor he looks retarded yes. He has the same game face no matter what and he is to over powered in his movies. Looks so retarded. :)
@limahl123123 Well that deosn't make him a retard. It makes the fight choreographer a retard. In most movies every single punch is rehersed though in indiana jones & a few other movies it was mostly improv.
@r25rjr yeh thats true, they made a big thing about him being in it, his name is even on the front of the box like he is starring in it and he has like 1 scene
There is no double doing the fight scenes. I know Seagal is grossly overweight and getting old, but that's definitely him doing the fighting. Why would a 7th Dan Aikido master need a double for fight scenes?
i like steven seagal better than those other guys cause his fighting style looks more realistic than what those other guys r doing yea they can kill a guy but seagal looks like he really knows how to kill a guy hes the bomb go steven
hi, i wanna know. Whats the name of all music in the movie ? i mean all music from Into the Sun Mocvie, especially the techno music and the wonderful opening music (chines / japan style) and the other with the electric gitarregreetings: mp3tracks
@masterdeviance1985 They have one of the largest military budgets since WW2 ended. America has since the cold war been trying to have them have war but they refuse since what America put in their constitution. But they have a pretty defensive forces. Japan if they were to open up would be very helpful to the US now that we're on the same side. They'd be one of the stronger countries.
@masterdeviance1985 If your talking about citizens, american gangs are crap and the citizens can't fight for shit either.
I mean gangs in other places are far more violent and big time, the yakuza is just a relic of what they used to be. They were beat out and now they are small time unlike the old Yakuza. Shit happens.
This movie and Into the Sun was a step in the right direction towards Seagal making decent action movies again...so what the hell happened since those 2 movies???
So the russian spy in the u.s. was russian mafia?? Now maybe im totally off on that and if that question is retarded then sorry. But heres a better question. Why doesnt the italian mafia kill journalist?
@dyegoluan i like that too i use it when people try to hit me for the fun .Always after i win they haven't touch me for years.....until now they attacked once but i won that too and only of steven seagal!!!!
Despite the fact that Seagal hasn't made a good movie in 15 years, it's good to see him at least using a bit of Aikido in the fight sequences again, for a while his stunt double was doing Wushu for him...
look at the guy holding the knife at 0:13, looooooooool who the fuck holds a knife in a fight this way? full of crap silly coach potato seagal movies worst ever
Also a very good choice. Although personally I find that one harder to pick up then Kotegaeshi. Some people find Kotegaeshi is hard, but it diretly felt natural too me. For other people the reverse (or another combination) is true.
for example, i'll probably never try koshinage on a really big muscular guy. or irimage on a really tall guy. but once u understand how to use the techniques really well, u can use any technique on people of different skill levels.
Seagal has no double in this fight scene. Watch the 'Biography channel' special about him, and it shows you behind the scenes footage of this scene (it's all Seagal)
The only double i noticed was when he threw a guy out of a window, later on in the movie (and that only lasted a split second)

Yeah, THEY'RE NOT FIGHTS. It's CHOREOGRAPHED STUNTWORK.
ANYONE can do it; it's not like he'd doping backflips off of buildings or anything.
It's also complete bullshit; if ANYONE tried to grab a knife-hand like that, they'd be CUT TO THE BONE.
And it's not like he's wearing any kind of body-armor or gloves under that coat-- and even then a knife can STILL STAB THROUGH BODY-ARMOR.
And if these were real Yakuza-thugs they'd be knife-experts.

Despite the fact that Seagal hasn't made a good movie in 15 years, it's good to see him at least using a bit of Aikido in the fight sequences again, for a while his stunt double was doing Wushu for him...

lol yes more stand ins doing his fight scenes for him while he sits in his trailer eating and getting fatter.

Hmmm....my girl has the same reaction Seagal did when I have an "AD", but after that I set her straight with some Seagal inspired Aikido throws.

Which one would be your most favorite technique then? :-)
I think Kotegaeshi might be my personal fav.

Also a very good choice. Although personally I find that one harder to pick up then Kotegaeshi. Some people find Kotegaeshi is hard, but it diretly felt natural too me. For other people the reverse (or another combination) is true.
Anyway, happy training! :-)

i think it actually depends on the opponent.
for example, i'll probably never try koshinage on a really big muscular guy. or irimage on a really tall guy. but once u understand how to use the techniques really well, u can use any technique on people of different skill levels.

Seagal has no double in this fight scene. Watch the 'Biography channel' special about him, and it shows you behind the scenes footage of this scene (it's all Seagal)
The only double i noticed was when he threw a guy out of a window, later on in the movie (and that only lasted a split second)
